Haha i ate some noodles and mostly had a lot of veggies. I also bough 90 more pounds of weight which me and my friend carried a 45 for around 5 minutes through the mall(bought it at sears). Man everyone was looking at us and my damn hands were tired as hell. Then we went to eat at my favorite chinese place.Got some good speed deadlifts in today, workout was like this:
Deadlift:
3 x 175, 3 x 175, 3 x 185, 5 x 3 x 210 ( dynamic effort more or less)
Bicep Curls:
25 x 55 pds(bb), 6 x 75, 7 x 75 (nothing big here first bicep workout in a while and was concentrating on getting the movement as slow as possible)
Bicep BB One handed curls: managed to curl a 75er once. Straight curl no cheating with right hand. AND ITS A BARBELL. WOOHOO BIG BUFF MAN.
After this i did some cleans, one armed snatched the 75 pound bb and that is all. (we got the weights after this).
Finally i have a good amount of weights to play with. 300 should do for a little...

Wow, how big is the barbell? That must take quite some balancing to do one hand lifts on the bb
I once bot a pair of dbs-45lbs each. Travelld by bus. Even tho it was only like 30 meters to the bus stop on a slite incline, heart was beating like crazy by the end
A humbling expereince.

LOL arbit, good story. I once had to walk from a sports shop in the town centre with an 80kg punchbag in a 6ft box over mine and a mates shoulder and had to catch the bus with it ... haah .. what a laugh that was, if not slightly worrying. Good workouts Dark, but what's this I see ... BICEP CURLS !? ... didn't think I would see that in one of your workouts, are your deads in kg or lbs ?

They are in pounds. You will see some heavier numbers coming up now that i have 90 more pounds to play around with.
Yea... i do bicep curls once a week, it's sad but i gotta maintain some bicep mass haha.
One arm lifts are fun. I also tried to press the bb (i one arm cleaned it as well onto my shoulder) but i couldnt balance it at the top so i had to use my hand and just lower it.

Iz alright. Low carb day today... i didn't do my lifting but i usually do so one day ain't gonna kill me. I will probably do some light stuff tomarrow and then deload for one week and start the cycle all over again. This cycle has been working pretty decently for me.

JEEZ DUDE, I remember the last time I talked to you, you were trying to keep it under 200 LBS... What happened!??!! Lol.
I'm at 196 LBS now, with about 12% BF... ****, about 14 months ago I was 243.5 LBS with about 25%+ BF. Calorie counting is the way to go dude. There's no other diet that is as effective as calorie counting. It's a bitch to count, but it's really the only thing that really takes the weight off and *keeps it off*.
All you really have to do is watch what you eat... You always lose muscle when cutting, it just happens. (Unless you're an extremely-dedicated body builder that knows your stuff I guess, lol.) But it's well-worth it to lose some muscle, when a ton of fat goes with it.
I don't know if you have a Trader Joes store near you, but they've got this GREAT microwaveable meal called "Chicken Masala". It's an Indian food, only 320 calories, and has 32 grams of protein!
It's awesome, I just eat one of those with a big Whey Protein shake (3 scoops of Whey, 3 cups of Rice Milk--about 540 calories and 60 grams of protein) for lunch. It's a great way to have lunch (for me at least). Only 860 calories, 92 grams of protein, and it tastes good and completely fills me up (and I can be a really big eater myself, lol).
For Breakfeast I usually have a big Whey shake or some soft-boiled eggs on toast...and Dinner, I just eat whatever's cooking in the house (in moderation), or I go out to Taco Bell and buy a few soft tacos.
My point is that making a good, workable diet isn't that hard. Just read the labels, see which foods have the least calories/most protein and just work out a diet plan. Don't overeat, you'll just regret it later. Get used to eating smaller portions...
Dieting with/without carbs is DUMB and the results never last, but that's just my opinion of course...lol. If you're serious about losing weight and cutting, just cut the crap and start counting calories, seriously...Lol. Oh yeah, and RUNNING and doing intense cardio helps too...don't worry about losing a little bit of muscle, you're naturally a big guy and it really shouldn't be hard for you to put back on.

I am only following the plan which many have said worked for them, and i have noticed a little fat loss so far since last week. I just wanted to let everyone know that i am still going, and today was high carb day. Got a lot of eating done, lots of carbs, got my starches in, and tried to avoid sugars not from fruit. Estimated calories 4000.
Right now i am deloading and then will restart the same cycle i used last time(i got awsome results).
I am doing cardio as well gregc. There is one problem with getting used to small meals, it is like culturally integrated into my family to have big meals. At least this way i can lose some fat... this is a diet that works for me, simple as that. May not work for everyone but it is going great so far.
By the way, since when have you gotten down that low man!? Lol what are your lifts? I may try a different approach later on, but at a week from finals i do not have time to sweat the small stuff that other diets would require me to do.

The thing to remember about "carb diets" is that they often give you quick results, but the results almost never last on the long-term.
Honestly, I don't really keep track of how much I lift these days... I just bench 150 LBS as many times as I can, usually about 2-2.5 sets of 10 (depending on how much energy I have before I start)... I find that lower weight and higher reps gives me a better workout, because I can go longer. I also do other upper-body work (lats, byceps, triceps, etc).
I just focus a lot on running because it's the thing that I don't want to do--which is why it works--lol. Lifting is so much easier, because I'm naturally big (like you)...but the thing that really makes a difference is just running and the calorie counting diet.
But I know, the last time I was around here much, I was around 220 I think... :-P

Its not a typical carb diet because you dont eliminate carbs, high carb days can be as high as 300 and up, low carb day is still about 220, and no carb day is around 15-20. So there is nothing to "remember" about carb diets here. Take a look at the diet before you attack it. This isnt something someone would do long term anyways.

I think i have dropped around 2-3 pounds since last week. Few questions... if i continue to use my same cycle, for recovery purposes shouldn't low calorie days be used after every lifting day?
Loading:
Mon - High Carb (Squat)
Tuesday - No Carb - Cardio
Wednesday - Low Carb(bench)
Thursday - No carb - Cardio
Friday - High Carb (deadlift)
Saturday - low carb(clean +assistance)
Sunday - no carb
Regular
Mon - High Carb (Squat)
Tuesday - No Carb - Cardio
Wednesday - Low Carb(bench)
Thursday - No carb - Cardio
Friday - High Carb (deadlift)
Saturday - low carb (or no carb) - Cardio
Sunday - no carb
Deloading
Mon - Low Carb - Upper Body
Tuesday - No Carb - Cardio
Wednesday - High Carb - Lower Body
Thursday - Low Carb - Cardio
Friday - No Carb
Saturday - High Carb - Cardio
Sunday - no carb
Notice how if i do this then i will have virtually no "no carb days" in the loading period... any thoughts / suggestions?

I see 3 no carb days, and it looks the same as with your other phases, so whats the dilly?? Also, how is a low calorie day benefitial to recovery? Did you mean low carb??? I'm just a little confused there. Thats good that you've lost a few pounds though, keep it up bro.

Ok so i was talking about if i replaced those days with low carb days. The reason behind this is recovery purposes - i will need the nutrtition after the heavy days.

I would say see how you feel having a no carb day afterwards, if you really feel you arent recovering as quickly than switch it up a bit. I havent had any problems with recovery really that I could note, but I'll pay a little more attention to it. Maybe you should consider changing your training instead of your diet.
