I still count them as calories but I don't adjust them and consider them free carbs, I just adjust the starchy carbs. I don't really take in sugar carbs of any kind when cutting.

WarPoet: Well there's no way to tell what your lower limit is until you try and find it. Sneaking up on your Thyroid looks like it helps too. If he went from 2,500 -> 1,400 then sure it might just shut down. Dropping 300 cals a week might be the ticket.

I'm not arguing that you shouldn't eat low GI carbs on a cut (or on a bulk even). IMHO, if you are in a calorie deficit, carbs are never ever converted to fat. That costs 23% for the body to make that change, when it can make glycogen for free. If your body made that conversion all the time, you wouldn't be in the gene pool. That's just ends up being a huge energy leak.

I would never be able to attain really low body fat if I was eating high glycemic carbs. I have proved this to myself too many times. What bodybuilders do to get real lean is they try to replace their starchy carbs with fibrous ones thus retaining their metabolic rate while the lose weight. Your fat loss does not slow down when this is done properly. I was losing in week 15 at the same rate as I was in week 3. 2500 calories a day which is pretty high for a lardass like me. If I eat 2500 calories of crap I gain fat. This is not unusual, my trainer has been trying to tell me this for years, I just wasn't listening.

The calorie in calorie out theory is just too simple our bodies are much more complicated than that. I don't know the science but these are my experiences. If I can get low almost anybody should be able to. Don't worry about arguing were just having a friendly discussion

I have had this discussion many times, I have a hard time getting the point across cuz I'm not very up on the science. It's all been trial and error, mostly error lol

Everything the same as before!

I feel hungry and a bit more tired today. I should be getting more sleep, in all honesty.

Dosing
Same!

Diet
Rocking steady at around 1400 calories, although for lunch I am going to a chinese buffet for my friend's 24th birthday.

I will probably eat about 4oz of any grilled chicken I can find and skip my evening chicken. *grumbles*

Notes

I can't feel a thing anymore. Zilch. No jitters, no nerves, no heat, nothing. EXCELLENT. I know from all of the studies that sides != results and I'd much rather not feel like **** all day. I suggest my dosing scheme to everyone who is on a thermogenic. 3 days in and I am feeling excellent.

On that note, I wore a tighter shirt (read: not 2 sizes too big and long) for the first time in two years last night and I didn't have to worry about my gyno nips. They are virtually gone! w00t. My girlfriend begged me to wear tighter shirts for a long time.
It was hillarious...after 4 years of a relationship, she was checking me out all night. She kept telling me how hot I was and how she can't believe I look so good now. I almost wanted to cry I think she is amazingly beautiful (still) and it's nice to know that I can be that guy for her again.

The Avatar is the cover of the new Thursday album, "Full Collapse." It's kind of like Indie Rock with a little bit of hardcore mixed in (very little). You might dig them.

Download "Autobiography of a Nation" and if you like it, check out some other songs. The Juliana Theory is pretty good too. Funny, they live right by me too. They wrote a song about a friend of mine.

Congrats on the eating You get used to new eating schemes after a short period of time. Just work your way up!

Yes, but not from drugs.

As most know I used to be quite a bit more muscular than I am right now, close to 190lbs. When I lost the muscle from stress and eating nothing (You can't eat without a job...) the skin around my nipples didn't quite recover as well. So any fat in that area makes my chest look HORRIBLE. It's partially genetic, but the weight shifts didn't help at all.

Danugi, you must feel $100!!

Although I didn't have the problem you had I know how ya must have felt. I was around 240lbs of fat a year ago and would not even dare to get me top off in public. Hated myself when I looked in the mirror but with hard work, I can walk around with me head held high and I believe I am looking good!!

I love success storys (as long as they are not from Slimfast )

Everything was the same today.

Last night I hit my first goal maker. 10mm ab pinch (was 11.5 the other day). I drink the same amount of water daily, so I think it is progress. Go me

I am not yet satisfied but it is very exciting to reach a goal. I will keep this up until next Sunday, to see where I stand.

No metabolift today.

I feel fatter. My pinches seem normal but I feel fatter. Plus my nipples are looking bloated.

Piper:
I do a simple 3 site on most days, using my abs as my main progress indicator. Abs, Pectorial, and Quads. On special days I get my girlfriend to hellp with the other sites. I had to have her keep trying over and over until she got measurements consistent with mine all of the time.

07.22.2002

I took the weekend off from my ECA and ate LIKE **** OH MY GOD. This morning I did my caliper pinches and I actually gained a full mm. It could be water retention from no consistent water all weekend - coupled with salty crap foods. Anyway you slice it, I don't feel right so I am sticking on the diet a little bit longer. I want to be very lean.

I started back the ECA this morning on the same plan as before. I forgot to take my aspirin once and I think I was hit by the E much harder.

I will measure again on friday (gonna stay away from the addictive calipers for a few days.....*hands shaking*).

I saw before and after picks from some guy on another message board and they made me feel less accomplished. I didn't take pictures before, so I can't use myself as a comparison. I actually look like his before picture.

Oh well, I am not sure if I want to bulk yet or not. A few days of higher calories (albeit crap) and I already gained crappy weight. I need to make sure I have my new routine where I want it to be before I start as well.

Peace.
