Well today I started my heavy weight lower rep scheme. It was a good workout that really made me work. I was careful to to overload to a point of not ruining my form. All in all it was a solid lift day with a lot of good things. I also didn't feel like it was same day, same stuff when I was lifting.

Hightligts

300 lbs squats!

215 lbs Deads

Yes even on my first wedding anniversary I was at the Gym.

The new rep scheme is working well for me. By adding about 12% more weight and dropping two reps from my max I feel like I am getting more done in a quicker pace. I also am feeling DOMS a little more. I managed 170 on my bench press yesterday so that was a nice suprise set range was 2 X 6 1 X 5.

Other lifts the wight stayed the same but I added reps or will add 5 lbs on Sunday.

The lift on the 14th of January 08 was quite good. I went a little deeper on my squats with the same weight, my plan is to stay at the current weight 305lbs and work on going deeper!

Dead are up to 220 still holding the weight is my stumbling point but I've noticed usually a session or two and I can hold the weight better!

Bench press is up to 170 getting 3 X 6 soon I'll load it up to 175

Switched from pendlay to cable pull downs, they just weren't doing much for me as I could tell..

Overhead press is coming along nicely. Though with my skimpy schedule around christmas I ended up having to drop some weight but it is coming back quickly!

As for fat loss it is going well. Large shirts are fitting looser and I am a solid size 36 pant. Seeing I started in a 44/42 this is AWESOME! Not to mention I've lost two sizes in shirts! started at a XXL heading for a XXXL.

Great lift day yesterday form on all lifts look great. I am really feeling my squats today after going a little deeper than I had been still at 305.

Deads at 220 felt good my hands are still my hold back there it is getting frustrating I want so badly to cheat and use my wraps!

Bench at 170 felt good I got 3 X 6

Over head press was 105 it felt good and I managed 3 X 6

cable lat pulldowns worked me hard as well 120 3 X 6

Diet is taking a hit on the weekends too much going on to always eat good but I work hard at avoiding junk and eating out too much.. but still sometimes a chicken breast at Friday's is as good as it gets..

But none-the-less fat is coming off and I am moving along.

1/19/08 -more weight lifted more weight lost!

Lifting today was good I bumped my bench 5lbs So I did 2 X 6 1 X 5 at 175 lbs.

I added 5 to my deads 225 1 X 6 2 X 4 Once again my ability to hold the weight was the stumbling point.

Squats I was doing 310 today. I miscounted the weight But I did it! The form was a little off but still

I weighed in today on a totally empty gut and was 207! Taking that number and squating 310 that is 103 more than I weigh! The Deads are 13 more than I weigh in my book now that's cool!

Good lift night all in all. Bench felt great at 175, squats felt good but a little harder then I realized why I put on too much weight 315. Deads were good too at 225. Overhead press felt really great at 105. I think I'll try 110 next lift day!

Weight/fat is still coming off diet is looking good though this weekend is gonna suck being out of town visiting friends means no working out and eating pretty much crap. But I'll do my best!

Good lift night again, it seems some of the new years people have moved on the gym isn't as crowed as it was at the begining of the month.

Deads were tough at 225 this is my hands going to start using straps on sunday.

Bench felt great at 175 I got 3 X 6 but it was a struggle to get that last rep.

Squats 315 felt good need to work on going deeper.

Overhead press bumped to 115 3 X 6 felt good really feeling it today. made sure to keep my spine straight and keep my back flat against the back of the seat. delts are letting me know they got worked hard yesterday

lat pull downs felt good. still trying to find a good weight. 120 is a bit too heavy my form suffers, 115 feels too light...

Lifting tonight was once again a good night. I am off schedule due to being out of town this weekend but It felt good no addition to weights but I did finally break down and use my straps for deads. It made all the difference in the world. I could lift the 225 without the fear of dropping it towards the end of the third set. I am going to add weight on Wed night.

Yeah, using straps for deads I was able to add 10 lbs to my deads. So I was lifting 235 last night. Next lift I may try 240 just to see cuz I could have gotten one or two more reps out of my 235.

Otherwise it was good lift night. Not using straps was holding me back.. I've also noticed that I am willing to really shoot to an upright position with the straps on where as before I had to go slower to worry about the grip... But I do mind the negs on this lift and come down slowly.

Saturday 2/2/08

Not too bad of a lift day had work done on my tat on my left shoulder blade friday night. This made it really hard to do bench press. I got through it but the pain caused me not to lift so well.

Up note I added weight to my deads they are now 245.

No weight added anywhere else but with my shoulder screaming at me it was hard to really lift anyway...

We'll see how tonight is! (2/4/08)

Good lift night the tat wasn't as much of an issue as it was on Saturday. I bumped deads to 240 felt good I think I will try 245 next lift day!

Everything else the same But they feel good and I am working hard to get last reps in the last set.... I may, need to tweak the diet some. Up my protein intake some from 40 to maybe 45 -50 %

Only thing to really say about last night lift was 245 for deads! YES! 3 X 6 it was a struggle but I got it.

Everything else was the same but due to equipment hogs and people doing curls in the squat rack I had to do my workout in reverse order

Bench
Over head press
Cable pull downs
deads
squats.. normally I do it in this order

squats
deads
bench
over head press
cable pull downs.

Ok, last nights lift was good I added 5lbs to my over head press so that is now 120. The deads felt great at 245 and all other lifts went well accept for squats.

Last rep in the third set Something caused the pad on the bar to roll some 315lbs has a mind of its own once it starts to move so I had to let it go. So it slammed down. Oh well... Just kind of embarssing..
