O.K. It was a bad week for the gym and bad weekend for eating because I was working at an animation convention in Washington D.C. (Katsucon).

Lifting on Monday felt great my lifts felt good and I didn't loose any weight which was nice. I didn't get squats in because the gym was so crowded I ended up doing incline leg press so I could get out of there at some point that night. I was tied of waiting for people to stop doing curls in the f'n squat rack.

I did 578lbs on the incline leg press not too bad at all. I think though really I could have added 90 more pounds to that but it felt good at 578.

Back in the gym and lifting tonight 2/21/08

Starting to mix things up some. My bench has been stuck and it seems the upper pecks that are suffering so what I am doing now is every other workout doing incline bench. One well I'll do it twice the next once and the alternate will be flat bench.

All in all lifts are progressing and feeling good. That 245 dead lift is kicking my ass that is for sure.

Today's lift was tough, I don't know why I just know it was and it took a lot out of me to get it done. The deads and squats is what slows me down and take it out of me. But then again they are the heaviest lifts I do 315 for squats 245 for deads.

It has been hard lately getting to the gym. Life happens... OH well, But last night I decided to try a spinning class it was a beginners class and it kicked my ass. My butt is still sore from the seat. At the end standing and sprinting took everything I had but I went the whole hour long class. Plus I got there a little early so I had about 10 min warm-up.

Should be able to lift today. I think I am going to add some lifts to the routine to hit some problem spots and to work on the so called beach muscles.

I lifted last night I also had someone who knew how to do squats watch me do them. I was caught ego lifting. I backed the weight back to 245 from 315 and guess what -I had good form and got lower than I had in a long time. Today I am really feeling them!

The main reason I decided to have someone watch me was a post here about ego lifting and I thought am I doing that? Have I become a victim of how much can I lift, how "cool" do I look putting a bunch of weight on the bar and moving it? I had.. So I have adjusted.

I also am adding a few lifts to my routine cuz I need it. I feel like some smaller groups are not getting hit very well right now. But as with anything I'll give a try and see.

So, my friends, I stand before you a convicted ego lifter that has now seen the error of his ways...

Well my squat form keeps getting better under the lighter weight! I got lower today than the other day. All in all not much to report. I weighted in at 204 this morning. So I am gonna take that as my true weight. Which is nice I had platued some.

Tuesday I am planning on doing a spinning class again to really kick my ass.

Looking forward to Monday and lifting! Tomorrow is nothing but cardio.

Last nights lift was great. The lighter weight is imporving my squats form a lot I am getting much lower than I have in a long time. Still trying the alternating bench press last night was incline. All in all things seem to be going well. I am down to 26% BF from 33.5 when I started. So I am happy with that. I am also down to a body weight of 202 from 241! So things are progressing...

March 6th 2008

Lifting felt good last night. I had to skip lifting Wed night so I picked it up yesterday Thursday March 6.

Squats were really awesome I was even going lower!

Deads are still challenging at 245

over head press at 115 is becoming easier

doing T rows for the back now 90 lbs feels good may bump to 100 next lift day

alternating benching seems to be helping.

Got a great compliment yesterday while doing squats a couple of gym rats came over and asked how much I had lost we talked for a few mins. They said keep up the great work! It really made me feel good that complete strangers took time out to say that they've noticed the changes in my body! That was a great motivator! I was in a XXL tour shirt and it fits me like a night shirt now days. It used to fit me a little snug when I started.

Last nights lift was a good one. Deads felt really good and the 245 is getting easier so soon more weight will be added! Squats felt good I think next week I'll add 5 lbs. Bench felt really good and T-Rows felt good too. All in all things are coming along nicely. I still need to work in a few extra lifts. I want to work on my arms a little bit more some extra tricep and bicep work would be nice.

I wore a XL shirt to workout in last night an old Stone Cold Steve Austin shirt, that WWE stuff runs small so it was closer to a large and I realized I don't look too bad now. Not as good as I want but all in all I can really see where the hard work has paid off. I look good facing someone, but I think I am a bit too thick still on the profile.

I noticed also that the pants I've been wearing to work out in are fitting me better. When I first started I though I was going to rip the seat out of them because my butt was too big for them really now the seam doesn't seem to be stressed at all which is a good thing!

I've also had to pull my belt down another notch. My size 36 pants are fitting me a little loose, 38s will just about fall off of me without a belt and look a little too baggy. A few weeks go I got to wear on of my favorite belts as well... It was only on the second hole but I got to wear it! So progress is being made and I f'n love it!

Got to the gym last night and got my lift on! I bumped deads and squats 5lbs. So they are 250 now! The deads were really had and the squats were more challenging! That is all that there is to really report this time.

Super busy at work it is making it hard to get to the gym when I am leaving here 7 or later at night..

Todays lift was great. The 250 on deads and squats felt really good and didn't kick my ass as bad as they did last week when I bumped the weight! Bench felt good soon I might bump the weight next lift day as well by 5 lbs.

Thanks for all your great comments on my progress pics! it is the kind of stuff that keeps me really going!
