Finally an update!

O.K. I am back with an update. I bought a bike and have replaced a lot of my endless plodding on a treadmill with biking. I am doing a mix of road and off road riding. I am attacking hills since they make me work the most. While there are better forms or cardio as in they burn more calories quicker biking is enjoyable for me and it is fun and beats the hell out of treadmills and the like.

Lifting has been going well I added a total of 5 lbs to squats, deads, and bench, 10 lbs to my t-rows. So currently I am lifting

255 for squats and deads

180 bench (flat)

150 bench incline

100lbs for T-rows

So still seeing gains they have just slowed some and I am attempting to keep an eye on my ego lifting. There you have it.

Biking so far has been good: I got a "biking computer" that keeps some basic fact for me during my ride - current speed, adv. speed, max speed, distance, and time of the ride. The time function only counts when the bike is moving so if I stop the ride time counter stops which is great.

Last week I got too good rides in thurs and Friday both days were great here in Richmond VA. Thursday I rode 11 miles and friday 9 miles. Yes this isn't a lot on a bike but since I haven't ridden a bike since I was like 17 and am currently 38 it has been a while so I am working up to longer rides. I am hoping to be doing 50 + miles by fall. My next goal is 15 miles then 20 ect. Realistic obtainable goals are the key to any fitness program!

Grrrrr the weather is not playing ball it keeps raining in the evening making it well impossible to ride.

Lifting last night was great. Dead and squats felt great at 255. The bench (flat) was bumped as well to 185 I got 3 X 6 but it was really hard and that last rep was kind of cheated some I think. I also bumped the weight on my T-row to 115 it was hard but I got all reps in 3 X 6. Woo hooo...

Saturday 4/5/08

The lift Saturday was good. I did incline bench instead of flat bench. Everything else felt good, for some reason the deads really kicked my a$$! I got through them but not without really struggling through the last few reps of the third set. 255lbs is 55 more lbs than I weigh!
