July 29th (yesterday), Thursday Shoulders/Traps (Had to wait to get to work this morning, my computer is down at home )

DB Military Press

67's x 5
67's x 4
67's x 2

BB Upright Rows

105 x 4
105 x 4
105 x 4

Reverse Flyes

52's x 6
52's x 6
Kinda dicey form.

Lateral Raises

42's x 5
42's x 6
Dicey form as well.

Front Raises

42's x 6
42's x 6
Good form.

Barbell Shrugs

315 x 10
315 x 10

It sucks, i have to deadlift up the 315 to use it for shrugs.

Anyways, not a bad workout. I didnt' feel 100% strong during this whole workout for some reason. It is almost the end of my 8 weeks. I am not sure if I am starting to get worn out yet and need a week off, or if this is just 1 bad workout. Time will tell. I would like to go 11-12 weeks before taking one off. I'll listen to my body though this time.

Jaster, when you do deadlifts, do you do them like Ronnie coleman when he was doing 800 for 2 reps in that video, where you tap the ground with the weight and start abck up, or do you set the weight down and then reposition and go back up? Curious.

Also, where is that thread again on how to do Jaster Shrugs? Could i try those shrugs with a barbell IN FRONT of me? I can't do it from behind lol, and don't want to get a V bar.

Thanks

Yes, I just let the weight tap the floor and up again.
No, Jaster the whole trick to Jaster Shrugs is that they are behind your back. Sorry.

Deep Squats

205 x 6
205 x 6
205 x 4

Straight Leg Deadlifts

235 x 6
235 x 6
235 x 6

Whew, these are super tough, but they feel good.

Calf Raises

That's it, seems like a simple leg workout, but it really isn't. This workout kicks my arse.
I am glad it's over.

Yeah, when I finally got the form right for these I totally felt it and it burned and I absolutely loved it. These are quickly becoming one of my favorite sets and it's cool to see you like em too

Keep up the good work :

Monday 8/2/04 Chest/Tri's.

I took today off work, and I usually don't do my weightlifting workouts this early in the day, so I think that threw off my strength a little bit.

Barbell Flat Press

205 x 4
205 x 2
205 x 2
Went down 1 rep in the middle set this week. Hopefully Ill come back hard next week.

Barbell Incline Press

160 x 3
160 x 3
160 x 3

My incline press isn't moving much at all. Sigh.

DB Flat Press

82 x 5
82 x 3
82 x 3

SkullCrushers

85 x 5.5 ALMOST got 6.
85 x 5
85 x 3

Bench Dips

BW x 4
BW x 3
Was gettin tired here. These tear up my joints a bit, don't like them much.

Cable Pushdowns

70 x 5
70 x 5

Dead tired now lol. I should go back to sleep .

Just so everybody knows, I HATE CARDIO!

Tues 8-3-04 17 min HIIT cardio.

I work harder during cardio than in weightlifting, lol. Maybe that's because cardio is BORING!

Wed 8/4/04 Back/Bis Day

I actually was looking forward to Deadlifts all day today hehe, for some reason, maybe im going insane?

Barbell Bent Over Rows

185 x 6
185 x 5
185 x 5

Deadlifts

360 x 3.5 (Oh my God this weight felt so heavy. I add 10 lbs from last week and it felt like i added 50. Also, i had the bar too far away from my ankles, or maybe i get 4 for sure)
360 x 3 (Still had the bar too far away from the ankles)
360 x 3.5 (Had the bar close to my ankles this time, reps felt SLIGHTLY easier than the first set.
360 felt RIDICULOUSLY heavy lol.

Lat Pulldowns

130 x 5
130 x 5
130 x 5

Straight Bar Curls

105 x 4
105 x 3.5
105 x 3
Not really any improvement from last week.

Hammer Curls

42's x 4

Done. Too tired. Was gonna do one more set of Hammer curls but thought, nope, forget it LOL.

Whew. I can't believe how heavy that 360 felt on those deads today. I seriously didn't think i would get more than 2 reps on the FIRST set when i was doing them LOL.

Ridiculous.

I used to have the same problem of having the bar too far away from my knees.....def makes it more difficult as it takes the legs out of the movement and makes you round your back. You gotta have it right against your ankles when you start the movement.
