ranger - you don't use your quads to drive up! you use your butt and hams. if you use your quads, you'll end up too far forward.

dave, that is a damned fine squat! you were booming up before, you're gonna be frikkin' amazing now!

95 x 10
135 x 6
185 x 5

225 x 3
225 x 3

The first set felt heavy, the second felt very light, and the third set was somewhere in between. Glad to be back.

DB Bench Press on slight incline

80s x 6
80s x 6
80s x 5
Damn these are heavy today. I was getting them for sets of 10 easily before 3 weeks ago lol.

Cable Pushdowns

80 x 15
80 x 15
80 x 15

Overhead Rope Extensions

50 x 8
50 x 8
50 x 8

DB Front Raises

30s x 10
30s x 10
30s x 10

Lateral Raises

20s x 10
20s x 10
20s x 10
45 sec rest between sets

Rear Delt Pulldowns to Forehead

170 x 8
170 x 8
170 x 8
Damn this stack is heavy.

Pretty good workout today. It felt good to bench heavy. I was worried because 185 felt heavy lol. I'm glad i haven't lost all my strength. Gonna go to 235 for sets next week hopefully.

Sure if i was eating big, then MAYBE but still probably not. I WAS 30 lbs away. I lost at least 10 lbs off my bench from taking time off.

Dave stop that - you know the strength gains will come. Even while you aren't eating big. Have you forgotten that the body fat you are burning is 9 calories/gram of energy?

Another thought, are you completely released medically to lift big? You don't want to overdo it until the doc says it's ok.

Yep I'm released to lift as big as I want. They told me to just call if i start having any problems and if i start feeling major problems to go to the ER, but otherwise i am cleared to lift.

I've been doing cardio alot and trying to get my conditioning back and it's coming back. I even did 2 workouts on saturday and 2 on sunday. Did a lower intensity cardio for about 20 minutes later in the day and did my weight routines in the mornings.

I know the strength will come, I'm just being realistic. I'm not going to put 30 lbs on my bench in 1 month, especially when i've lost a bit of strength to start with and i'm starting to move heavier weight. It's just not going to happen, and besides, i'm eating a restricted diet so the gians will come even slower.

Yes i'll get stronger while cutting (those who aren't are doing it wrong) but it'll just happen slower. I think early to mid spring time i can expect 315 if I don't have any injuries or any hiccups along the way. I've always wanted to bench 3 plates.

Good attitude Dave. So it won't happen in a month, but it will happen. Great work on the cardio too. I know - no fun but still needs to be done. At least you aren't being a slacker on it like I am.

Realistically, how much do you expect to be able to add in a month with your style of training? Sounds like you may be going for 10 or so???

What's considered the next milestone as far as bench goes in powerlifting circles? Obviously the 315 is a huge milestone, what comes next....365? 400? I know I haven't officially done it yet, but I am assuming I can do 3 plates now, so I need a new goal to shoot for on the bench

10-15 a month i'd be real happy with.

Rangers there's no set milestones, but generally i like to go by 1/2's. 3 1/2 plates is next for you meaning 3plates and a quarter (25) for 365. Since i've passed 2 1/2 plates i'm on to 3 plates (315).

This has been my schedule:

Mon - Cardio 30 mins stationary bike w/resistance and interval training first 20 mins, then 10 min moderate constant intensity

Tues - Upper Back + Deadlift Weakpoint

Wed - Speed Bench + Heavy shoulders/Triceps

Thurs - Cardio 30 mins stationary bike w/resistance and interval training first 20 mins, then 10 min moderate constant intensity

Friday - Cardio 30 mins stationary bike w/resistance and interval training first 20 mins, then 10 min moderate constant intensity

Saturday - Heavy Leg (squat or dead) in the morning, 20-30 min low/moderate intensity cardio in the evening.

Sunday - Heavy bench in the morning, 20-30 min low/moderate intensity cardio in the evening.

I BETTER LOSE FAT.

I'm eating about 2500-2700 calories a day. The 2 a day workouts on the weekend i am not sure how long will last lol. I hate cardio but i need to get this fat off.

Where's the rest day? Doesn't do any good to push yourself till you drop.
