Last night was a little better.

I feel asleep at 6:30, got up at 8:15, went to the store, went to bed. It was about 11:00 by then and I layed there for a good 45 minutes. The power flashed about 1:30 and then the smoke alarm went crazy. Fell back asleep about 1:45. Got up with a nightmare about 4:00, went back to sleep. Alarm woke me up at 7:00. Not as bad, but not wonderful.

As of late, it has been. The last 3 days have sucked. I hope to correct this soon. I think it may partially be due to my last meal being close to bed, but I'm not 100% sure. Last night I just wasn't tired when I layed down. I probably would have slept through if conditions were different. I just started a new diet (dropping about 600 calories) which could put some tension on the system. We'll see if I can regulate soon.

Ok this was better than before, but it still sucks. I fell asleep on the futon about 6:30 and got up at 8:15. I decided to then go to the store and pick me up some eggs for breakfast. I get back, shower, go to bed about 11:00. 11:45 rolls around and I fall asleep. At 1:30 there is a huge storm and the power goes off and on. The fire-alarm in my room goes all crazy and wakes me up. I fall back asleep after another painful 15 minutes of staring at the ceiling. I woke up about 4:00am from a bad dream which resulted in me being totally pissed off. I fall back asleep and go right back into the bad dream. Why is that? Why can I never fall back asleep and keep dreaming about girls with tight boxes that grip what I push with their eager bossoms in hand? NoooOOOooo. But when I have a dream about ass-raping midget dinosaur professional-wrestelers (pronounced "rasslers") it's right back into hell as soon as my eyes are closed.
Total Sleep: I can't even figure it out.

IV. Daily Rant
So, the restauant I visit frequently decided it would be a brilliant idea to put a glass cage around the smoking section to protect the non-smoking people from the harmful death-gas. Sounds like a good plan, right? Not for me it isn't. I am a lone non-smoker in a group of smoking friends. Now I get the pleasure of be trapped in hell much like a mime while my friends' cigarette smoke dances in my lungs like the sprites of "A Midsummer Night's Dream." Ohh....My transparent tomb. For today I have a case of the megrims and this foggy pall of smoke will be the death of me.

Quote:
William Shakespeare, "A Midsummer Night's Dream"
"Every elf and fairy sprite...Sing, and dance it trippingly."

I get periodic problems with insomnia myself... although for me it's half the time can't-fall-asleep, and half the time wake-up-hideously-early.

What sometimes helps, though not always, is kava root... take a little and it relaxes you, take more and it's a pretty decent sedative (beats all hell out of the over-the-counter remedies), take a whole bunch and it'll get you pretty damn high.

There's been some rumblings about possible liver damage, though after I dug through Medline there didn't seem to be any substantial basis behind it. The most compelling bit of counter-evidence is the fact that natives in Australia and Oceania take it in absolutely outrageous quantities for the get-you-high part and don't seem to be or have been suffering any hepatic problems from it.

When I'm seriously suffering from insomnia, NOTHING helps. But the kava really does help when it's a more borderline problem.

Thanks for the tips Cougar!

Insomnia sucks. I think my Day 2 rant explains it properly.

I get that, planes and rabbits go by (well something) in my peripheral vision. They are never there when you look.

Luckily I'm usually the one keeping myself up. I took some Lion's Mane couple of weeks ago. Worst sleep I've ever had. Crap I say!

Good luck bleary man.

IV. Daily Rant
So I'm driving to town after my workout and I see a vast sea of brake lights flooding the highway for a few miles ahead. Of course, when I'm in a hurry, anything that could possibly happen to make me late, generally does. As I crawl along the highway at a healthy clip of (...) 10 miles per hour some dick pushes his way into my lane. I had to resort to skillful NASCAR like tactics to avert the danger of hitting this asswipe. He had one of those numbers on the back of his ride like he worked somewhere special, so I called the number from my cell phone and was like "Hello. Driver A83360 is a total asshole. He cut me off on the highway while there was an accident on the road and he nearly caused additional fatalies with his assholocity." The woman who answered was like "Oh, I'm very sorry sir!" Then I was like "Well, you shouldn't be sorry. But I know that good old number A83360 is going to be really sorry when I follow him until he stops, pull him out of his car, then beat him to death with a tire iron." Silence on the other end. Then she hangs up. Chalk one up for street justice.

Ok so I get to the scene of the accident. Let me set this up a little bit so you get a better idea. Where I live most of the highways were "cut out" of hilly mountain-like places. So the highway sits down inbetween rock like so : \__/. Well this guy apparently thought it would be a great idea to drive his car up one of these mountains. His mid-nineties Chevy Blazer now lays on it's top with all 7 window sites totally shattered and the body damaged beyond repair. For this he wins...*trumpet music* Douche Bag of the Year! *pause for applause*. Apparently the DBOTY was some sort of ****ing genius. Sure, I can make it up a 60 degree incline with my crappy truck. "I reckon I've seen it on TV a hundred times." Well as much as this amuses me the thing that really pissed me off was...THERE WAS NOTHING BLOCKING THE ROADS. Nothing. The 500 assholes in front of me just figured they'd drive by as slow as possible so they could see the wreck. They even had a fireman on the side trying to get people to speed the hell up. People suck at driving.

V. Thought of the Day
People should need to take a driving test every 5 years. This should be compliments of the state. If you drive like a douche bag, then *yoink*, there goes your license, assface.

I've developed a bad addiction though....Diet Snapple Iced Teas. Oh man...they had them on sale at the store so I picked up two cases. With the low-no sugar diet, these things taste SOoooo sweet. Now I understand how ppl can handle diet drinks. I'm limiting myself to 2 a day and I shoot for 1.

Again, morning and dry. I also tested after a shower today.

Weight: 156lbs

Ab: 16mm this morning, 15mm this evening
Chest: 5mm this morning, 4.5mm this evening
Leg: 18mm this morning, 17mm this evening.

That puts me between: 10.2%-11.0%
Which I'm guessing is inaccurate since I can't see my abs *that* well yet. The point is...I'm making progress.

2.5lbs this week. I'll say 1.5 fat 1lb glycogen flux. Since my measurements went down substantially, I'm getting somewhere.
