Hmmm, it's a standard MO, they start at the bottom and very cleverly work their way up. What's next? You may need to set a boundary if they keep wanting to go north!

had to come up with another excuse to leave work, luckily my call time today pretty alte (2pm) so I left work at 1pm and had 20 min at the gym (so convinenet that we were shooting down stairs!) got my quick 'something is better then nothing' workout in and went back downstairs into make-up. Today went much faster only was there for 3 hours. I am sore from yesterday and today for the calf shot I had to stand on one leg (on toe like a ballerina) while flexing my calf and turning slightly inbetween each shot so they could get all angles. My calf would crap up but I just had to hold it so they wouldn't miss the shot. I was dripping with sweat like I had just done a CF WOD. We did lots of shots like I was running then we had to do quad shots.
It's amazing how much time and effort goes into 1 single ad campaign. There are like 6 people, in between shots people are running up wiping your feet, adding powder giving you stuff to hold on to so you dont fall, adjusting light...it's insane, but really fun. I found out this is actually a national campaign, the ads should be in magazines and bilboards. hopefully at least one of my shots will make the final ad. I guess even if I don't make the cut it was a great experience, the photographer is a pulizer (sp?) prize nomine, and has shot stuff for every large publication, so it was great to get to work with him. I also got to meet other photogs and got their contact info for other projects.

lol funny today on some of the quad shots we had to roll our shorts up super high. the other girl and i had the same shorts on and they are already super short. we had to roll them up like bikini bottoms! Everything was professional of corase but it is weird having to do lunge poses when you are hardly covered down there. I don't think I could flex because I was scared I was having a Lindsay or Paris situation! all in all it was a great experience, I am sore, but it was so much fun. Tomorrow is a rest day again (I feel like I am slackin) saturday back to CFN andmy first day interning as a trainer at my gym. Life seems really crazy right now. I'm tired.

woohoo great job on elizabeth gymgirl! and on the modelling! I can't wait to see your legs on a billboard! (that sounds weird lol)

enjoy your rest day, you are not 'slacking off'! you are doing great with all your workouts.

So when you are at the shoot do they give you free food? and if so, is it only lettuce and celery? he he

Thanks JDR and minime!

haha i think it is even wierder that I want to see my legs on a billboard. lol.

Surprisingly there was a lot of food around. on the first day they ordered out lunch for us (I got a salad) everyone else had fried food. Then the second day I wasn't even there yet and the assistant calls me to see if I wanted them to order me in anything for when I got there. It's so funny, and I was not used to that. I didn't have them order me anything I just packed my own food. There were snacks around too, pirates booty, nuts, waters, soda...some other stuff but I didn't really look. I didn't want to tempt myself as I skipped out on Wednesdays workout and yesterdays was so brief. I can't believe how sore I am. who ever said modeling is easy, is crazy. lol.

I think I am addicted. I want to do this all the time.

Well you did the right thing in getting the contacts. If this works out and you get your picture(even one) you will have plenty of calls coming in to use you in other shoots. Who knows maybe they were so impressed that even if you don't get your picture picked maybe you will get another shot with someone else. Good Luck. We are all praying you get this one and we are all very proud of you.:

rest day

completely beat from this week and I hardly even trained. I think the stress of trying to come up with excuses to miss work wore me out. Got a quick nape after work then headed to a 'gym' party at a local bar. only had 1/2 glass of wine as the service there sucked. very nice bar, even had lovely italian and french wines but the bartender was a bastard. went home picked up bf and we went to watch our friends band (sweetwater) play at this awesome club called the Crocodile. some of you music fans may have heard of it. the show was sold out but luckily we were on the guest list. This band was huge in Seattle in the 90's and I used to go see them when I was in HS all the time, so it was shocking when I ended up working with him at EMP a few years ago. Anyway they got back together to record an album and play some shows. It was really cool to hear some of their old stuff too. The club was packed I stepped away from bf for 2 min to make my way over to say hi to a friend and got gropped as some guy says "hey baby, who are you here with" I say my boyfriend and keep moving...then I go to the bar to get some water and some guys tell the bartender they want to buy me a drink, i POLIETLY declilne and say thank you and the ass hole has the nerve to say, " what do you have a ****ing boyfiend?"...no need to cuss at me. I ingored him too but was ready to leave that scene. The place was filled with 35 year old guys who still thought they were in a frat or something. lame, so we left after about 20 min.

8am class at CFS (only 6 hours sleep)

Dave is off in Cali teaching Navy Seals about CF so Nancy taught class today, she kicked our butts!

warm-up:

400m jog around block

tabata lunges: 10# db per side (1 lunge per side=1 rep)

6-6-6-6-6-6-6-6 Score: 6

skill level test: BW squats for reps (they have to be unbroken)

100 reps, all to dynamax ball

workout:

3 rounds for time of:

25 DB snatch (alternate arms as you please): 20#DB
25 v-ups
400m run

time: 11:11 (first place by 1 second!)

then to my gym to make up WOD from Thursday

Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
15 Double-unders
15 Burpees
15 Box Jump
15 ft Rope climb, 1 ascent (sub 15 rope pull-ups)

4 rounds + 15 double unders, 6 burpees

comments:
my legs were fried after tabata lunges, then the 100bw squats after that were awful! I was surprised I made 100 unbroken. I think they key is to find a good pace and not push super fast like you are doing a timed WOD. CFS now going to test everyone on 1 skill level per week and they will keep it on file for us then re-test periodically to see how we improve. I passed level 1 for BW squats! hooray! the WOD there was fun and tough, turns out at the old CFN building what we thought was 400m was actually 480m! The 400m at the new CFS building kinda sucks becasue the first part is uphill! luckily there is a downhill part on the last leg. This guy and I were neck in neck today but I made up time on the v-ups and he would catch me on the run, i beat him and came in first by :1 second today. It's fun having some friendly competition. On the first two rounds we ran the 400 together and talked which was nice and helped take my mind off the run. WOD at the gym was brutal too, my legs were shot already so box jumps were a nightmare. happy to get two good session in today all before 10:30am! Turns out no shadowing today as athletic directors clients cancelled.

i need a shower and a nap.

met my gym friend that i recently got into CF at the gym this morning for the WOD. He got there before me and had to start. this workout was BRUTAL. I almost quit on 15 rep round. I took a ton of breaks, and talked to my friend, helped him with some form etc. Sadly I really needed those breaks, probably could have gone a bit faster, but this WOD killed me. Deadlifts and front squats unbroken, but HPC's were brutal today. those sucked up all my time. I was also very sore from yesterdays CFS and made up WOD. drenched with sweat, made lots of puddles.

wow, great job on those workouts gymgirl!! you worked hard this weekend!

that WOD looks brutal alright, maybe you should have subbed 65 for deads also to conserve energy?

21 unbroken front squats at 65 is pretty good going!

thanks guys. JDR good luck with this one. I rank it up there with Linda, shoot linda might be easier!

minime, I could have ligthened up the deads, to make it easier but I was going with the idea if I can lift the weight safely for that number of reps, then I'd stickwith that weight, regardless of how long it took or how tired I got. I would have shed 10 min or so had i done 65#DL i bet. I don't know why this WOD was so hard, I had one of the worst times by far. OTP had like 13 min... lots of people in 25-35 min range.

Monday, June 18, 2007

I have been BUSY, life has been crazy and I am extreamly tired. It's been making my workouts suck. I woke up 5 times last night starving. Should have eaten more during the day but wasn't hungry.

Cardio:

3 mile run on treadmill
400m warm-up, 6.5
400m 7.8, 400m 6.5
400m 7.9, 400m 6.5
400m 8.0, 400m 6.5
400m 8.1, 400m 6.5
400m 8.2, 400m 6.5
400m cool down

workout:

With a continuously running clock do one pull-up the first minute, two pull-ups the second minute, three pull-ups the third minute... continuing as long as you are able.

Use as many sets each minute as needed.

Post number of minutes completed to comments.

14 rounds + 7 pull-ups

112 pull-ups total if my math is correct.

comments:
rounds 1-10 were a piece of cake. then it got really hard really fast. on round 11 some guy came and asked if he could use the rack (that's where the good pull-up station is) so I had to run and find a new spot in my 30 sec of rest. went to a station that is not bolted down well and very tough to kip on, my workout was pretty much over from there. Anyway this was the first time doing this WOD, which is odd.I don't know how i've managed to miss this for the past year+!

food:

carbs: 216g 36%
protein: 179g 36%
fat: 62g 28%

total cals: 2063

I'm getting heavier, weighed myself and am at 110# I had to take some pictures yesterday,I'll try to post them soon to see if you guys noticed any fat gain...I can't believe I've gained 5# in the past few months. sigh.

The above is why your time was not as good as it would have been.
That WOD was after a rest day!

Super job on the pullups!
I don't think it would have been rude to say to whom ever wanted to use
the rack that you would be done in 5 mins.
You were in the station and using it, not standing around talking.
No reason to screw your workout up. Just my 2 cents.

Once again nice job! :

Hi gymgirl, you and me both had one heck of a busy day, except you still got a workout in and I didn't. Good for you.

Regarding the weight gain, I'm sure it's all muscle. But the acid test is done by going into the bathroom with a mirror to your back and a hand-held mirror in your hand, butt naked. Take a peek in the hand-held mirror and if you like what you see then good for you. That angle has got to be one of the most unforgiving views that a person can see of themself because the back doesn't lie like the front can.

i've done that, and honestly i like what i see. lol. my legs are a lot bigger then 1 year ago, but everything is much firmer. i had to take some pics because I could not make a casting on monday and had to send them to my agent so the client knows i am still in shape. this is the stressful part. at any moment you can be called to take pictures and you have to look on point. anyway here is me at 110#. they needed arm/back shots and a couple legs.

don't be mean, i don't know how to pose, i was just trying to give them the shots they needed!
