I have naturally oily hair can't go more than 2 days without it looking like I used some heavy gel to hold things down. My girlfriend (hairdresser) goes 1 week without washing. I just can't.

You will have to PM me on how to do the baby powder thing.

I gave up perms after the 80's and never looked back.

Layering does the trick. I wouldn't trade my hair for anyone's now.

foot still sore so no cardio, spent a lot of time dicking around not knowing what exactly my foot could tolerate and what exactly I wanted to do.

warm-up:

CFWUx 2 (sub hanging leg raises for sit-ups, push-ups for dips)
Burgener WUx3
Pressing snatch balance
hang power cleans: 45x10
push press: 45x10

workout:

For time: 30 man makers, 15# dumbells

7:10

(3/07 was 7:24 i believe)

Shoulder press WU: 45x10, 55x10
bench press WU: 45x10, 65x5
pull-up WU: 10 BW

5x5 circuit:

shoulder press: 65-65-65-65-65
bench press: 75-75-75-75-75
weighted pull-up: 15-15-15-15-15

comments:
foot felt better then I expected but shoulder was sore. bench and weighted pull-ups could have been heavier if I didn't have any shoulder soreness. shoulder press was just right.

I was telling bf about the Burgener oly lifting clinic I am attending this weekend and he was asking what happens at these things. I gave him a little run down, then said 'hopefully he (burgener) will check out and help me with my snatch". If you ever want to get your boyfriends attention use that line. I kept talking after that not even realizing what it sounded like, but bf just stared at me in disbelief and said WHAT?! haha. ooops, now he knows that the snatch is an oly lift!

warm-up:

burgener WUx3
power clean: 45x5
OHS with light bar: 20

workout:

Complete twenty rounds of:
5 Pull-ups
10 Push-ups
15 Squats

time: 11:18

4 rounds of:
30# overhead barbell walking lunge, 15 steps
5 burpees

comments:
did one extra round of the WOD just incase I miscounted that time was 11:47, but I am pretty sure I counted correctly. If I can keep up this pace I should be able to hit a 30 round cindy next time. I was at 10 rounds at 5:50. These guys I know thought it would be a good idea to start talking to me and asking questions around round 12! I surprised myself and was able to have a conversation without slowing down. fell on the floor after round 20 and the guys joked that they needed to call the ambulence. ha. took about 5 min rest and finished with the lunge, burpee workout. my body was fried so i just left. shoulder is abit sore too. looking forward to my rest day. tomorrow the nordstrom sale starts so i gotta get there right after work and stock up on my workout clothes. every year i totally stock up at this sale. maybe ill get some new jeans too since my 2 favorite pairs now look like they were spray painted on.

My vocabulary is limited, therefore I can only say that was another awesome performance today.

Great job on the WOD! I really need to start eliminating one of my workouts and replacing it with a Crossfit WOD.

Oh and nice avatar minime, you look great! :

Hi gymgirl. I am just in awe over your time for the WOD. Your are a great advertisment for crossfit.

I bet when you come in the gym to workout a lot of people just stop and watch. It would be fun to see you do your WOD.

Often I will read your posts and I am impressed, but I don't understand what is involved. This time I could relate to what you did and it is inspiring. Keep up the great workouts.

Thanks for those very kind words bob. To be honest I do catch people looking sometimes out ofthe corner of my eye. mostly they just joke around with me telling me I don't work hard enough. Hopefully this will help me get some clients!

CFS class, 8am

warm-up:

mix of Burgener and CFWU

workout:

we were put into pairs, one person goes through the circuit while the partner keeps track of reps, then switch partners.

dave's version of FGB x 2

30 seconds of work at a station then rotate immedietly to next station, 2 times through

push-press 55#: 22, 25
pull-ups: 17, 20
row (calories): 7, 7
KB step-up: 9, 9
push-ups: 25, 26
medicine ball sit-ups: 12, 15
1 hand DB OHS (20#): 22, 25

total: 226

comments:
i think my partner miscalculated because she had my score as 179, but i just added it up twice on the calculator and got 226. This was a really tough workout. especially pushpress into, pull-ups (no chalk!), row. This afternoon I had my first session with the guy I am practice training on. His goal is to lose 2% body fat and put on 15# of muscle. I tired him out in the warm-up by having him jump rope for 2 min. We did a 5x5 then finished him off with tabata squats and tabata sit-ups. when we were done he toldme after our 'free practice' period is over he might actually have to hire me. that was nice to hear.

foods been good, haven't logged it yet...nothing out of the ordinary.

Burgener Olympic Weightlifting Seminar (a.k.a. the best spent $95 dollars of my life)

wow what a day. Let me start by saying my entire goal of the day was to fly under the radar. I've seen enough Burgener clinic videos to know he loves to call people out. goal shattered.

clinic was 9am-4pm with one hour lunch break, got there early signed in and chatted with fellow crossfitters. he gets everyone attention and we are asked to form lines standing side by side. I ended up 2nd rown in the center, great view, but also meant easy to get called upon!

he started off with a breif description of how he runs these things. he is just like he is in his videos http://media.crossfit.com/cf-video/C...earnSnatch.mov if he asks us something we answer with 'YES COACH!'...loudly. anytime he says the word burpees, we yell YEA BURPEES! then he does another thing when he's happy, some sort of hooorahhhh. we have to yell that when he yells it. There was a lot of him yelling 'Is that clear' us, YES COACH! lol you can tell this dude was a marine. if are aren't yelling loud enough its burpee time. for about 2 min i stood there thinking why the hell did i sign up for this? this is like the military, i don't want to yell, i dont want to mess up and have to be yelled at like that. then I realised this was all just a show and he wouldn't be one to berate people.

we started off working on the pulling stance, then receiving stance. then jumping from pulling to receiving. we worked on grip. then he comes and stands by me and asks me to put the pvc overhead (im thinking oh **** don't mess up!). without thinking i lifted itup keeping it right next to my body, and he said excellent. apperently when he asks people to do that they swing it out infront of them because they can. then he taught us the Burgner WU. We went through it part by part, then into skill transfers for the snatch: OHS, pressing snatch balance, heaving snatch balance, and finally the snatch balance. I have done all of these before, but it was nice to get critiquite from the master himself! so we just learn the movements, haven't even put them together and he calls me up to the front of the group. he had me go through the entire burgener WU part by part ( i was so nervous but he kept saying, great or excellent, then he asked if he could adopt me lol he said that to a few others too) then straight into the skill transfers. I was so nervous that i screwed up the heaving snatch balance and was just doing snatch balances but he said it was ok. i was so freckin terrified of messing up infront of everyone. when we finally moved on to snatches one girl (he picked on her a lot) wasn't jumping, and he made us do burpees. the entire first 1/2 of the day was exhausing. after everydrill you hold the position until he says relax. we were bascially holding OHS's for most of the morning.

after lunch he came up to me and said 'dave told me i can't steal you from him'. what he said next shocked the hell outta me. he told me i have a lot of potential and could be really good and should think about getting into oly lifting (he mentioned this place that teaches gymnastics and oly lifting he is buddies with the head coach). i thought he was kidding but he said he was serious. next 1/2 i got called on some more, but it got easier, and i wasn't so scared.

the last 4 hours were spent on the clean and jerk. we started with front squats then apperently there is a burgener WU for the clean, i had no idea. we went over that, then did some cleans. then skill transfers for the jerk. lots of behind the neck push presses, push jerks, sotts presses then we worked on split jerks. I've pretty much read every CFJ article Burgener has written on the push jerk and split jerk so a lot of this was review for me. we ended the day with stretching and Q&A. then a few plyo drill demos. After class i went to say thanks and he came again with the you really should get into olympic lifting, reminding me he was serious. lol overall it was a great day, but i am exhaused. who would have thought one could get so sore/tired from only using a PCV?!

i'm exhaused, and should sleep well tonight. I wish i could have taped the seminar so I don't forget anything, im glad i can come back and re-read this when i need a refresher. there was so much info it is impossible to retain it all. no food tracking. i treated myself to a veggie egg roll tonight.
