CFS class, 8am

what a waste of time. somedays I go there and the workouts are kick-ass other days I go and I'm like 'that's it?" I could have done way more and kicked my own ass in 1/2 the time. Saturday was one of those workouts. I think now that classes have gotten so much bigger they dont know what to do with all of us. There is not enough equipment or space. This new facility is 1/2 the size of the old one.

strength work:

SLDL/Row combo: 45x5, 55x5, 65x5, 65x5, 70x5, 70x5, 70x5, 70x5

the girl i was sharing the bar with didn't want to go up in weight so we kept it here.

workout:

we did some sort of lame group PT thing. everyone did all reps together like we were in the freckin' military. so boring. the workout wasn't even planned out so it was a lot of ok, now this, now that. can't even remember the order, dosent really matter since it sucked.

5-20 reps of each exercise

push-ups
KB swings
KTC
KB C&J
push-ups
KB military press
v-ups
push-ups
KTC
KB swings
C&J
push-ups
C&J

had a client right after so no time to workout on my own.

10am

6 mile run: 52:29

ran outside on seattle waterfront with my running friend. this time we ran a different route all the way to this beautiful area/marina. what a wonderful day, perfect weather 75 degrees and just stunning views of the water and mountains.

after the run we headed out to a wonderful french breakfast at this great resturant in the pike place market. I went all out. crab, cheese and egg stuffed crepe. then afterwards we headed over to this ice cream festival! i had 4 samples including one thing that was carmel icecream topped with this apple beer sooooo freckin' good. we really worked up an appetite! then last night after all that food, i had a decent dinner (fish and tofu) but knew i had a single serving of strawberry shortcake in my fridge...i ate 1/2 of that!

Saturday was a bad food day too. met up with my running friend for lunch, had salmon, potatoes, and veggies, then went home and made a smoked salmon frittata, but that wasn't enough i had ot make it into a paninni. used white olive bread....soooooo freckin good. then boyfriend and I went out to dinner. I had a pasta with a carbonara sauce, shared a bottle of wine and finished it off with cocconut creame pie!!!!! OMG i've eaten so much, but loved it all!

oh and as of today I am officially part time at my (full-time) job! ya! only 20-25 hours per week. I think I'll be working Tues, Wed, Thurs and have Mon and Fri off! : This should give me a little more free time, so I don't feel like I am killing myself.

Today for example work at event job 6:30am-2:30pm, 30min commute to gym. workout 3-4pm. clean-up/eat at gym train clients from 5pm-8pm. home by 8:30 up at 5am and at work by 6:30 again tomorrow, then quick workout then clients from 5-7 then run at 7:30. so glad this will be the last week of this madness!

Congratulations! Next step is full-time self-employed fitness guru. Then you'll have to buy your own health insurance which should be cheap still because you are young.

Three rounds for time of:
50 Pull-ups
185 pound Deadlift, 21 reps (sub 125#)

time: 20:19

pre: NFWUx2 + Burgx2 + snatch transfer skills
post: stretching

extra credit: got some thrusters, SLDL/BOR and 60 walking lunges with clients.

comments:
WOD was tough, my grip was shot and couldn't get 21 DL's unbroken. I also had the owner distracting me and giving me a hard time, probably lost 2 min off my time having to go back and forth to the front desk so he could mess with me! later he told me my "60 MPH pull-ups are dangerous." lol.

Thursday, September 13, 2007

warm-up: 3pm
NFWUx1 + Burgener WUx2 + Snatch transfer skills

workout:

Three rounds, 15-12-and 9 reps, for time of:
135 pound barbell Thrusters (sub 75#)
45 pound weighted Pull-ups (sub 20#)

time: 14:23

break: ate, trained clients, stretched

running: 7:45pm

3.7 mile nightime outdoor run along seattle waterfront. absolutely beautiful.

32:00

comments:
WOD was brutal. I do not know how Greg A did that as rx'd in 4:33 or whatever his insane time was! the thrusters weren't too bad but those weighted pull-ups killed me. I was so tired by the time running came I had zero energy and had been up since 5am. We started running when the sun was going down and by the time we got to our turnaround point it was dark. running in the dark, outdoors where the bath is 1)not straight, 2) not flat, is really freckin tough. We did 5 min fast/5 min really slow for the entire run. I loved the slow part, hated the fast part, especially in the dark. I've never run at night but I really liked it. it was warm yet crisp and the entire run is along the water so you could really hear the waves hitting. i love seattle during the summer! after the run went to my friends house and we made some dinner. tofu, rice, and i had two bite of chocoalte cake....so good. we can't seem to run without eating together afterwards!

here is where we run, the pictures do not do it justice

Great job gymgirl on the last couple of workouts! I cant believe you thought 75 on thruster was not too bad.. 55 almost killed me! The run sounds like fun.. I too hate running when its dark but running Outside on a summer evening is a good feeling.

WOW that's a great place to go for a run gymgirl! A lot better than where I run at my local park. I see little tiny streams, a river with garbage in it and massive amounts of duck crap on the floor! lol

HOLY ****. What a freckin' weekend. I am so happy I decided to go to the cert. I learned so much and am so freckin sore. I'll share a few things now and I am sure much more will come to me later.

First of all I was feeling like I was coming down with something all week and of corse friday morning it starts to really hit. Kris (bf) and I drive down Friday, and i rest up friday night hoping ot feel better. Sat morning felt ok, but throat hurt and just exhaused. I show up at the facility and like 2 min after i check in Tony B (video guy) comes up and introduces himself saying there are a few regular posters there this weekend. For somereason I thought posters were the ones who attened the certs, but I guess not. Anyway, I walked by Nicole and was so stoked to see her there. btw she is freckin TINY I have no idea how she weighs 123. she is about my height and her legs are freckin SMALL, not in a bad way but in a fit, but how the hell are you squatting 265? I expected her to be bigger. her upperbody is freckin RIPPED.

We started with a lecture, then the some exercise demos then break into groups and go over the exercises with the trainers. While we were doing that Dave's comes and double checks if I can do pull-ups. I say yes. after that they call us all over and say they have 'volunteers' to do a 1/2 cindy. I whisper to my new friend Andy,' god I feel bad for those people' then I hear my name called out. WTF? **** I have to do 1/2 cindy with no warm-up and with a bunch of dudes. 2 other girls did it but they did jumping pull-ups. these peeps were on you for form. push-ups were chin, chest, stomach, thighs all touching the ground together or the rep dosent count. each participant (8) i think had a trainer assigned to them to count and verify reps/rounds. I only did 9 rounds was on my 10th when the 10 min were up. I actually tied the guys, and beat a couple I think. I don't recall anyone breaking 10 rounds. pull-ups and squats were fine it was the full push-ups that killed me, especially my shoulder. they started off fine until round 6 or so. by round 7-8 nicole was down at my side yelling, where did those perfect push-ups go? lol

anyway, had a huge coughing fit after that. cindy while sick=not good. thankgod it was lecture time again. coaches lectures were amazing, some of the stuff we have seen already in videos but he really elaborates on everything. I could listen to him and nicole lecture for hours. that was definitely my favorite part of the weekend. At the end of the day there was another workout, but those of us who participated in 1/2 cindy were told not to do the workout, which was fine by me.

Day 2 was similar, lectures, group warm-up with 50+ med ball cleans, group skill work, lectures, Fran demo (charity freckin kicked frans ass with a sub 4 min 3:56? workout). lecture lecture, group stations. one station was muscle ups with dave. he told me to come try one, and I was like uh no I can't do it. he's like just try. I try and made it on my first attempt! sooo happy to get a muscle up! then our last station was a WOD
30-20-10 double unders, KB swings

my time was 3:40 missed the #1 girl time which was 3:20.

I was spent, and still sick. my chest is sooooooooo freckin sore. my legs ache but my chest is just done. I can't even extend my arms. putting on my bra almost killed me this mornig, and forget washing my hair.

so couple of random bits that shocked the hell out of me.

when talking to Tony (video dude) he mentioned something about me doing 'roaming diane', and also talked about a couple random things I've said in the comments. I was like dude you guys read that stuff?! I had no idea and was blown away that 1.) they read that **** and 2.) the notice names of posters. Then in one of coaches lectures he asks the group, anyone here hate jumping rope? I am one of the people who raise my hand and he looks and me and says 'but you were a gymnast'. I said i still don't like jumping rope and he's like i don't believe that. WTF? how the hell does he know that? crazy. I think the most amazing part to me was not only do they put out this great program, but they take the time to read the posts and learn about those following CF. blew me away.

Anyway, after that I got a moment to talk to coach, say thanks and talked biefly about gymnastics. very nice guy.

I learned so much and met a ton of great people. I went into the gym last night to train my clients with more confidence, and overall knowledge. I'm also applying what I learned and planning to possibly tweak my training a bit, and after a few conversations with Nicole will be changing up my diet. I've got a bit more reading and planning to do but hope to start up next week.

Right before we left I went up to Nicole to thank her for everything and tell her she is such an insirpation to me (yes cheesy but whatever), she gave me a hug and said 'oh I heard you did 'roaming diane', you've gotta send in a video!' so cute. we chatted a bit about training etc, what a nice lady she is. glad to have met her.

amazing weekend, just bummed i was sick so it was kind of a haze. itwas like going to an intense summer camp! can't wait to go to another. we will see if I can workout today, i hurt.
