thanks tim! (wow that took me 5 times to type correctly i am still wiped out from today's workout) so many rules, what is up with that?

minime, my trainer is not unreasonable, i end up buying specials i think it is 18 sessions for $900. yeah, don't hire trainers who would hand you pink dumbells! i hired a great trainer at my old gym, purchased 9 sessions and he ended up quitting after i had only used 2 sessions. they stuck me with some new guy who spent the full hour showing me how to foam roll. i mean c'mon i wasn't even injured. i was so pissed that i wasted an hour of my time that i just quit going to him. i'd rather lose the money they waste my workout time doing nothing. when are you moving to the states? where are you moving to? come to seattle so we can be workout partners! and yes cycle 7 of antm started a couple of weeks ago. tyra is outta control this season, but i keep watching. ok gotta post this fast so i can get ready to recline for antm!

warm-up: 100 double dirty dog walks

crossfit WOD

Three rounds for time of:
45 pound Overhead squat, 15 reps
15 L Pull-ups
45 pound Split-jerk, 15 reps (subbed push-jerks)
15 Knees to elbows
45 pound Hang clean, 15 reps
15 Back extensions, with 25 pound plate

time: 32:11

oh my gosh, this kicked my ass. those L pull ups were the WORST. i could not get more then 5 in a row. kept legs in L position 90 degrees. i was pretty sore from nasty girls yesterday. everything broken except back extension, which were definitely my resting period. on the first round after L pull-ups i was already breathing heavy. i was DRENCHED after this one, i almost lost the bar a couple of times on the hang cleans becuse my palms and shoulders were so sweaty and slippery. after my workout i wanted to make a sweat angel a la tim, but didn't want ot get kicked out today. anyway, i really loved but hated this workout. glad i got to practice the OHS, PJ's and HC.

i had planned to do this workout then 30 min of cardio, but i knew 1/2 way through the first round there was no way i was doing cardio! this is why i do it first! today i needed to get in there and hog up the bar/squat rack before it got busy.

took a long HOT shower when i got home, i think it was the best shower of my life. hot water felt so good on my traps and back. tomorrow is going to be cardio and legs, as i don't think my upper body can take any more for a few days.

food:

carbs: 233g 40%
protein: 189g 39%
fat: 45g 21%

total cals: 2030

it's been a while since i have hit the 2,000 cal mark. i feel a little bad since my cardio has been lacking, but i have been STARVING so i am eating.

i am exhaused.

I agree completely, this was a brutal WOD. But good exercise combo.
Great job on the L pullup, I can hold it for 1 maybe 2, but once I'm tired can just keep the knees up. I found the overhead squats the most taxing but did them all unbroken(mainly because I didn't want to put the damn bar down and then pick it back up and slid my hands in position!!!!). I was a whipped pup after. Anyhow great job!

oh i was reading those xfit discussions - i cant believe they would put a sign up saying a 55kg girl lifting 60kg isnt safe! hello guys are always lifting heavier than they weigh - that is just discrimination, they should be sued!

tim, thanks for that link!!! yeah i can't belive those signs. minime is right they should be sued those sexist jerks! what the hell is that? i tried to post something, but i can't remember my stupid log in or user name...grrrrr. i thought it was the same as when i post my WOD times. guess not.

boston minime! how fun, what are you moving there for, just a change from ireland? yes yes you must come visit me in seattle, we will watch ANTM, and read gossip magazines, then workout and have cheat meals! : and p.s i would NOT put you to shame in the gym, you must be trippin'! ummm have you seen my pathetic squat numbers? also 4 miles is my max, you'd like like going for your 9th mile by the time i got done with 3!

jdr, wow i don't know how you did those OHS unbroken, i think i did 10/5 luckily i had the rack there...sheesh my traps and entire core were feeling those. i agree great exercise combo, it was so tough, and i have some soreness going on today which i can only imagine will get worse as the day progresses. traps, back, legs, even abs from those L pull-ups....feels good though. :

What is with the overhead squats being so hard!! My knees were totally going over my toes too so i fear i may have been doing them wrong! aah do i do everything wrong?!

BF lives in Boston - we got a long distance thing going on ATM which sucks but does mean lots of vacations... Ill be over for xmas this year, snowboarding! he taught me last year -i am still very bad (i am a scaredy cat) but its great fun.

is it true that it always rains in seattle?!

i'm sure you were doing them right. i think it is ok if they go slightly over your toes? you are doing great, and you learn all these new lifts without a trainer. i think that is awesome!

ohhhhh i see, after i typed that question i thought maybe that was the deal. that has got to be so tough being so far apart. luckily soon you will be in boston with him! ohhh x-mas in boston, you guys should go to nyc too! i've never been there, but i hear it is beautiful during the holidays. snowboarding is AWESOME! i haven't been in years i am alergic to the cold, (yes it is a real allergy) and my fingers swell up and i break out in huge welts/hives if exposed to the cold for more then a few minutes. i have to bundle up here when it is cold and still i get the hives/swollen fingers at times, even after only 10 min. also my knees didn't like the skiing or snowboarding. last time i borded i was at whister, BC and rented a board and lost it. yes, i didn't have my leash on (shame, shame) and i was on a cattrack (sp?) and needed to get out of my binding, of corse the hill was there and i kicked my binding too hard, the board popped out and flew down the hill into the trees. lol i had to walk my ass down the mountain and explain to the guys in the rental shop what happened. i hadn't even purchased the insurance but they were nice and didn't make me pay. lol i'm an idiot!

it dosn't rain that much in seattle (shhh it's the ploy we use to get people to stop moving here) it's what october now and still 65-70 degrees and sunny. it starts to get cold/rainy late october early november the dries up during december then january it really starts raining until may...lol it just drizzles a lot, then we get breaks of sun for like a week or so. but may/june-sept-october it is usualy sunny and nice!

i think its the balancing part that kills me - squatting with arms over my head makes me feel like im gonna fall over!

Ive been to NYC before, but never at xmas time - i bet it would look beautiful with snow. I liked New York but its a little crazy for me... don't think i could keep up wit it!

i think ever since 'sleepless in seattle' (love that movie) ive thought of seattle as rainy! 'rains nine months of the year in seattle' or whatever he said!

allergic to the cold?! ive never heard of that! you freak haha. That must be tough though - no making snowmen! hehe. I don't like being cold really myself, im a summer person for the most part. I like the snowboarding but i'd take warm weather anyday really.

yeah the balancing on the ohs is the tough part. i just try to remember to activate my TA and use my core. i've got to keep working on those.

nyc does seem crazy. my friend moved there in the spring and came back by august. it was just too much for her. can you belive i've never seen sleepless in seattle?! i'm such a bad seattleite! we do get a lot of rain, but it's not as much as everyone seems to think!

yes i am a freak, who the hell is alergic to the cold? my doc told me it is as common as asthma, but most people don't know they are allergic. i can go out in the snow and build snowmen, but i have to really bundle up,and once my fingers hurt i have to go in or it takes 30 min for them to get back to normal size. it's also quite painful, my fingers look like little sausages! i agree warm weather is more my style, not hot but 70's 80's is my preference. i want to live in LA or san diego where it is nice more often!

ok onto the workout!

*first of all i am SO SORE. maybe it is worse becuse i did nasy girls then yesterdays WOD without a days rest inbetween. everysingle muscle in my body is SORE.

this was really tough, my legs were sore from yesterdays WOD

one leg step ups onto bench

light leg day again as i was super sore. squats felt a lot easier and could have done more weight, but am still nervous about the muscle tightness and it's effects on my knee.

OK, OK, I get it, you are SO SORE! We all have our battle scars, just be glad you don't have a cough because if you coughed or sneezed it would make you SUPER SORE!

good news and bad news today.

good news, i woke up after another leg day and my knee is doing ok. i was quite worried i would be back to not walking again.

bad news, i kept waking up all night covered in sweat. thought i was working out again in my sleep. maybe it's a fever, i was freezing but dripping with sweat, even my sheets were wet. maybe i've picked up a little bug. my voice is gone, and i ache all over. good thing i work 6-2 today, so i can go home and snuggle up on the couch with my blanket. these things usually pass in a day or two if i rest a lot.

anyone take emergen-c? i don't use it regularly, only when i'm feeling like i'm coming down with something. just wondering what anyone's thoughts are on that stuff.

one more thing, why is there so much traffic on the highway at 5:30am? i'm glad i don't work normal hours like most 9-5'ers, i can't imagine how long it would take me to commute into work.

p.s. minime, i spoke too soon, today is raining and 57 degrees.

have a good weekend!
