lol, minime. i finally know how to attach something. i am such a dumbass at this stuff.

i have to try one more...this is one of the cutest pictures i have ever seen. found it on the x-fit archives. (hope it's ok to post a pic from another site, do i have to link to it too?) Attachment 2503 http://www.crossfit.com/mt-archive2/2006_02.html

oh and this is the emergen-c stuff http://www.mothernature.com/shop/sec...ex.cfm/s/99616

i guess it is basically vitamin c and stuff, but i am always a bit nervous when taking things. i even avoid advil, cold medicines etc. lol you know i am feeling bad when i turn to pills. i say that but i take whey protein. lol i'm all screwed up.

oh my that is so cute! hey - even babies can do better HSPUs than me! no fair!

it looks just like its a vit C supp to me - but i never knew til now how great vitamen C really is lol - it protects u from secondhand smoke? And it gets rid of boils? Saves your eyesight? i gotta get me some a dat!

I say not to worry about taking things like that anyway - i take a mulitivitamin every day, plus fish oil caps, glucosamine and a calcium supp. Ive got everything covered! stay away from me diseases/boils!

I use Emergen-C, usually after a workout. I like the way it tastes. Don't expect any miracles from it.

Younger people get sicker more and easier than older people like me. Enjoy your youth. Drink plenty of fluids and rest and you'll be back in the saddle soon.

thanks for the feedback/info guys! wow i missed all that info minime! you take all those sups? damn i am slacking, i take my whey and that is it. i am lukcy if i remember to take my multi vitamin 3-4 times per MONTH. awful i know. actually reading brat's journal has helped remind me to take my vitamins again. maybe i should try calcium...and fish oil caps? i better go read up on what all that is for.

pierini, i like the taste of emergen-c too! i usualy only take it when i feel like i am getting sick or when i actually am sick. i love the lemon lime flavor!

lady c i picked up some zinc lozenges, thanks for the tip and the nice comment. i really want to put some mass on my arms! i think they have actually gotten smaller since i started doing crossfit.

so i think i am feeling better today. last night i grocery shopped and cleaned my apt. i have no idea why i cannot relax and rest until my place is spotless(here is one reason why the b/f calls me monica geller). after it was all cleaned and vaccumed i relaxed all evening and watched the last two weeks of one tree hill.

this morning i woke up feeling slightly worse then yesterday. ran an errend with the b/f and decided i was going to try to get some light cardio in which tends to make me feel better when i am congested.

saturday, october 7, 2006

got to the gym at 10:30 which is later then most of my sat morning workouts.

cardio:
20 min on eliptical, 7.0-8.0 2.4 miles

felt a bit loopy during the cardio, but felt good afterwards. hopefully i sweated this thing out. (is that even possible?)

workout:

wanted to do yesterdays 10/6 WOD but could not find the jump rope at the gym. even had the athletic director help me look, so i ended up modifying it.

"Annie"

50-40-30-20 and 10 rep rounds of:
Double-unders (sub wall ball throws with 12lb ball)
Sit-ups

time: 9:05

finished up with streching and foam rolling. felt better when i was done. my girlfriend who used to live here and moved to LA is back visiting. we grabbed some lunch right after my workout at one of our old favorite burrito spots. they have a picture at their resturant of a 6 week old baby next to their large burritto, both are the same size!
i don't get the large, just the regular but i ate the whole damn thing. the sad part is i wasn't even full. i think i'm taking today off of logging my food on fitday. i thought when you are ill you are supposed to lose your appitite!

anyway, here's the food for friday:

food:

friday 10/6 (rest day and cheat meal of ravioli)

carbs: 256g 49%
protien: 141g 31%
fat: 40g 20%

total cals: 1896

anyway, off to lie down and rest. hopefully i will shake this thing soon. tonight i'm supposed to go to my friends party, but am wiped out. tomrrow is shopping with my parents!

have a good weekend!

well i dont eat any oily fish.. but u eat salmon so u are probably ok i guess. I saw a pack of pills in the store the other day - omega 3-6-9 plus flax and evening primrose oil... im deciding wheter to buy them or not! They were on sale 7.99 for 60tabs i think.

sounds like a good workout for a sick gal! And its great that u decide not to log your food - i think every now and again its good to let loose... i know if im entering in fitday i can never really go wild!

Are burritos high in calories then? i guess it depends what u get in them.

enjoy your shopping!

9:05 Annie is blazing fast. I'm going to try that one on Monday, since she's my alphabetically first girl. You'll probably smoke me. The recommended sub for double-unders is high-knee jumps, by the way.

i may have taken it a bit too far this weekend. on saturday i did ok with my morning oats, then after the gym i didn't even have time for my postWO shake, and went straight to that burrito place with my friend. and minime, i think they are high in cals, they are freckin huge! i had black beans, rice, lettuce, tomato, salsa, and white cheese on/in mine. oh and guac...and a side of extra guac..heh my fav. i held the sour cream though. lol. later i had 3 egg whites and 1 whole egg scrambled, with a veggie sausage patty for protein and a slice of whole wheat bread with 1 serving of light laughing cow cheese. later i had a protein shake, some cashews then some ben and jerry's frozen yogert!

today i planned on eating good. i woke up feeling awful again, actually worse then yesterday. i went and got some tylenol cold which helped but only masked everything. made my oats, then some cooked up a huge pot of minestrone soup for lunch. i wanted to lie around and rest all day but my parents drove up for the afternoon and we did some condo shopping for them, then shopping at the mall. before condo shopping we went to this middle eastern grocery store so they could pick up some stuff and we got falafal sandwhichs (BAD but tasted so good) then after shopping at the mall we went out to dinner and i had stuffed grape leaves with hummus and safron rice. all the carbs and fat i had today is awful. i feel gross, but i can't stop thinking about that ben and jerry's frozen yogert in the freezer. what is wrong with me? TWO days now of not tracking my food.

normally i put all my food into fitday and see where my macro breakdown is then rearrange my meals until i am happy with the breakdown. this weekend i just said screw it all.

i've gone through an entire box of kleenex this weekend. my nose is raw, my ear hurts...but atleast i have tomrrow off from work! supposed to see my trainer at 2pm, but i will see how i feel.

oh and minime, i now really now how pathetically small my calfs are. i tried on so many pairs of knee high black dress boots today and every single pair was big in the calf area. my favorite work ensembles consists of skirts with knee high black boots. since my knee ordeal, the healed boots are hurting me, so i am trying to find a pair of cute flat ones that i can wear with skirts, unfortunately there are none! damn desigers, they need to make cute flat boots and clothes that fit athletic bodies! grrrrr

tomorrow back to logging the food, and hopefully i will feel better.

oh i almost forgot, tim good luck with annie tomorrow. i'm sure she was a lot easier with wall ball shots, i bet if i did double unders it would have taken me twice as long. also that's right i forgot tuck jumps are the sub for double unders!

i need more info on this ben & jerrys u speak of! was it phish food?

everytime i see the annie mentioned in my head the singing starts... 'annie are u ok are u ok are u ok annie' hehe i need to practice these double unders, but its been raining all weekend (thank god, a temporary reprieve!)

dont worry about your calories silly - u have lost weight and u need them! A few more weekends like that and u will be back fitting into your size zero pants! lol that sounds funny

i have a pair of boots that i got a couple weeks ago - they are not knee height though, i prefer the mid calf ones. I think knee height makes my knees look weird! They are cute though, flat heeled and ive been wearing them to work. I wear flat shoes a lot actually, which i guess is strange for a shortie! my friend i work with always wears 4" heels even though she is like five six anyway! i never see her in flats.

what are the high knee jumps, u jump up and tuck your knees into your hands? that sounds even harder than double unders!

Basically, jump high and tuck your knees up to your chest each time.

ugh, so i am still a sick girl. i had a three day weekend and spent it sick! i was supposed to work with my trainer today, but my sinuses, neck, and head are hurting me. plus i figure it would be a bit odd to be carrying a box of tissues around the gym, might even get me kicked out! i feel so lazy and blahhhh. my ass felt saggy so i did a couple sets of SLDL with these dumbells i have. ha.

i've kept myself busy by clearning off a lot of stuff from my DVR. this weekend i watched dancing with the stars, hero's, studio 60 on the sunset strip, one tree hill, laguna beach (yes very shameful i know), the bachelor (almost worse then laguna beach), the office and lots of food network. my hottie tyler florence is on right now. hehe. oh also today i watched this program on VH1, called hollywoods skinniest celebrities (minime you would have loved this show!) wow, they were saying people like kiera knightly who is 5'7 i think weight about 105lbs!!!! EEEEK they showed kate bosworth back form her blue crush days and she looked great back then. they also mentioned these girls ate about 800 cals a day! YIKES.

speaking of low cals, i was browsing the workout journals of the ladies over and bodybuilding.com. these chicks are buff and push a lot of weight, how do they survive, let alone build on 1600-1800 cals per day? it seems so low. maybe becuse a lot of them don't seem to do cardio? it just seems really low for girls who are putting on a lot of muscle. my shape magazine was saying women of my size should be on a 1300 cal a day diet and only get 48g of protein! what the heck? 48 grams of protein would be a piece of fish and a protein shake!

oh minime, here is the ben and jerry's i eat, half baked fro-yo. http://www.benjerry.com/our_products...product_id=134
and i am back to fitting in my pants already...fast huh? now i don't want to get to big for them! oh andthe boots i have don't go over my knee or anything! they end right at the top of my calf. i have been wearing flats a lot too, i work in events so there is a lot of running around, heals are just not practicle! it is funny for us shorties to be wearing flats all the time! where did you find dressy flat boots? mine have a 2-3 inch heal but are very comfortable(the only heals i have that are comfy). wish my knee would feel better, i miss those boots!

food:

how am i starving all day when i have hardly moved from the couch?

carbs: 154g 36%
protein: 133g 35%
fat: 49g 29%

total cals: 1540

oh i just looked through all of the B&J flavors on that site.. are u trying to kill me? i am practically drooling on my keyboard....

i choose either New York Super Fudge Chunk or Everything but the 2twisted... for my 'dont give a crap' icecream. But in reality, i would go for choc fudge brownie LF frozen yogurt. Ive had that many a time and its pretty good for lowfat. still though, 760cals for a pint - and i have eaten a pint in one go pretty easily. Yum yum.

great job fittin back into the pants - i mean size 0 being baggy is prob a bit too thin... next step is finding out where nicole ritchie gets her clothes lol.

That is my caloric range - 5'-4", 125 lbs, ~16%BF. Yes, you two do 3X the cardio I do. So when you are more active, you can eat more.

If I sat and ate a whole carton of ice cream - I would look like I did! FAT (Oh and be sick - lactose intolerant).

EDIT: I just read minimis journal - I might add, I am all for building (keeping) muscle. Not to be able to complete a marathon run. I am medium boned/build and will NEVER fit into a size 0 more like a 4 would be my smallest EVER. I would say I put on muscle easily when I started. But getting and maintaining some lean, cut look is nearly insane for me. I would NEVER be able to have a cheat day and would have to do at least 2 WODs per week (on top of what I do now) just to maintain.

thanks lady C. that is very helpful info. i just looked at your progress pics again, as it had been awhile. you look great! you have awesome biceps. that is the size i would like my biceps to be (i know i'm dreaming lol). so i guess that makes sense to eat only 1600-1800 cals a day if you aren't really doing a lot of cardio. i just know i am starving on days i only eat 1600cals, and i've been eating more based on hunger. i've also noticed that since doing crossfit workouts my appetite has grown tremendously.

so all this talk and everyone's points in minime's journal has really got me thinking. btw i agree, since i started doing crossfit type workouts last spring, i've noticed endurance and strength gains as well as more definition through my arms, but i am not building any muscle. my legs have shrunk (mostly due to injuries and not being able to spend a full hour training them once per week). i do like the fact that i finally have a tiny bit of definition, but now i need to get some muscle mass WITHOUT adding excess fat if possible. i'm thinking since i am still battling these stupid injuries, and therefore cannot run, maybe i should start doing crossfit workouts for cardio and adding some additional weightlifting after x-fit to add on muscle. i also think one of my 5 day a week workouts is going to go back to a legs only day. i am terrified of putting on fat as i worked so hard to get my body fat from 19%-20% to 14%. this took me about 4 years and i don't know if i am ready to do that all over again.

i wish i could just gain the muscle i want in my arms, back and legs and keep my waist small, and arms defined! wishful thinking, i know. i want to look like these girls! they do crossfit and look great, i wonder what other workouts they do. i think tim said one of them used to be a skiier.

minime, aren't those flavors great? they all look so good, i had american pie this summer....ohhh and baklava! delish! i like the low fat chocolate brownie one too, but i am a chunks kinda gal so the 1/2 baked as the cookie dough bits. hehe. they used to make this great low fat fro-yo, called smores. graham crackers, marshmallows and chocolate. it was soooo frecking good.

yes size zero being baggy is too frecking small, i felt gross. glad to be back or almost back to normal. just need to get the leg muscles back!

feeling a bit better today, might actually make it to the gym tonight!

EDIT: sorry the pic went to the bottom, still not good with the formatting
