tim, that show is so addicting! most of the girls are annoying. the part i enjoy is watching the fitness guy put them through vigerous workouts. that bootcamp thing reminded me of crossfit. i caught the b/f glancing up a few times when i had this on...lol i said 'see something you like?' i was totaly kidding, (i know he is not attracted to that type) and he looked at me totaly serious and said 'baby, these women want to be adult cheerleaders'. that comment made me remember why i love him so much.  those girls are so annoying but i can't stop watching!!!

i just re-read my prior post and realised it sounded kinda snotty. let me explain where i was coming from on that one. first of all i have nothing against cheerleaders, i was one all through high school! hell my senior year at cheer camp the coach at UW offered me a spot on the squad if i decided to go there. i loved cheerleading,and one of my closest friends was a seagal for the seattle seahawks. my remark was more in regards to the
b/f. in the past i have dated guys who were 'guys guys' loved beer, football, cheerleaders, and with one guy in particular, i felt like i always had to look 'perfect' or act a certain way, and that got old really fast. two old boyfriends were obsessed with britney spears (back in the day when she was considered the hottest thing) pictures, calenders, desktop images- she was everywhere. i remember thinking geez, i don't have blonde hair, my body dosen't look like that, how am i supposed to measure up? my current b/f could give crap about those things, and isn't impressed by what most would consider 'hot' i.e. jessica simpson, britney spears (back in the day) etc., i can walk in the room in one of his oversized t-shirts, a pair of sweat pants, no make-up, hair all messy and he will tell me i look beautiful. i never feel like i have to look like one of those dallas cowboy cheerleaders, or britney spears, for him to find me sexy, and that is why i said i love him so much. sorry, that was quite a ramble, just felt like i needed to explain. i love cheerleaders!

cardio:
30 min on eliptical, 4 miles
65 double dog walks each side (my trainer needed the second bar for his client so i stopped before i got to 100)
interior and exterior rotater cuff exercises 3x16 of each exercise.
my shoulder is still bothering me so i decided to skip 'Diane', eventhough i REALLY wanted to do it, and give my shoulder another day of rest. i see my trainer tomrrow so i want to be ready to go!
arms:
bicep curls: 3x12, 30lbs curl bar
tricep kickbacks: 10lbs 1x16, 15lbs 1x10, 10lbs 1x16
shoulder hurt on the 15lbs kickback but only when iwas bringing the weight down after i was done. my trainer thinks i may have bursitis (sp?) i sure hope that heals quickly. ive been icing and putting heat on it. if i lay on my back with a tennis ball diging in my rear delt it feels really good.
that's all i did, very quick and lame workout. trying to remember that something is better then nothing, but today i felt like i should have just skipped out.
food:
carbs: 244g 43%
protein: 177g 38%
fat: 40g 19%
total cals: 1962

Well I never took a psychology class in college but I'll pretend I did and say this: it's wonderful that you don't have to do that for him to find you sexy, now just make sure that you don't have do that for you to find you sexy. I think women in general are a lot tougher on themselves than us guys. Heck, every time I look at myself in the mirror I still see a 16 year old kid.

well i definitely feel better about myself when i am working out hard and feeling in shape. the thing is i haven't figured out is if it is becuse of the endorphans released or how my body looks and feels after a good workout. when i don't workout i miss it, it is what i look forward to everyday, so i guess i enjoy it, and i enjoy the results. i agree i do think in general women are tougher on themselves. i love that when you look in the mirror you see a 16 year old kid! i am just now getting to the place where i can look in the mirror and not pick myself apart. i obviously have things i want to work on, but i don't let it get me down like it used to.

its obvious u hate cheerleaders - just admit it  lol just kidding, i have never met a cheerleader, but i am sure they are lovely people...
your bf sounds like a sweetheart. I cant imagine having a boyfriend who wanted me to look perfect all the time! I am quite lazy really, low maintenance! lol sometimes i almost forget to brush my hair
i too am quite hard on myself, but trying to be better. I know when i think rationally about the 'whole picture' i am not doing too bad. I am in pretty good shape. But when I look closely.. i see the little niggling problems - I am trying to work on not letting the little things take over the big picture  its hard though. BF says i am way to hard on myself, but i say he is way too easy on me! Like u say, he will think i look great even if i look like i just fell out of a garbage can!

and i am glad to hear that your b/f is the same way towards you!  we are lucky to have nice guys in our lives. it's no wonder that one i dated who i felt i always had to look perfect around, didn't last more then 5 months. tobe fair the guy never told me to look nice, but i just felt this werid pressure. lol, i like you are lazy or low maintanace. friday-sunday i do not take a brush to my hair unless we are going out to dinner or something nice but if we are just relaxing my hair is in a pony, and i am in sweats. i love it, unfortunatly i cannot be bothered with this getting ready business.  one of my very good guy friends is so picky. he is in his early 30's and will not date girls unless they workout a lot and are in good shape. that is just a requirement for him and something he will not settle on. i just wonder what he is going to do when he gets married and the wife gets pregnant. i couldn't date someone like that becuse i would feel like he would be watching everything i ate, and if i skipped a day at the gym or gained a few pounds that he would be done with me! anyway we are lucky girls to have such nice boyfriends!

had my trainer today. shoulder was feeling better but not great. if it is not bursitis he thinks it could be something else, and of corse i can't remember what it was. some big word i could hardly pronounce. i remember it had to do with my rear delt tightening up causing my shoulder to move slightly then causing the front of my shoulder to compensate a bit. or it could be brusitis along with tendonitis. to me it feels more musclular...but who am i do know...i think he said something about infraspinatus (sp?) and supraspanatis (sp?) i don't know, i need to google this after i post.
so i guess today would be considered a Maximum Effort day. he had me start with press to handstands, which i was nervous about given my shoulder pain.
Max Reps of standing straddle press to handstand with 15 sec max. rest between presses:
33 reps
then we did today's WOD with DB Sumo squats during the rest period
Weighted Pull-ups: 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1 reps
10lbs/12.5lbs/15lbs/20lbs/22.5lbs/25lbs/27.5lbs/30lbs/ PR-35lbs/ PR-38lbs
rested 1-2 min between reps
Dumbell Sumo Deadlifts: 5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5-5 reps
20lbs/25lbs/30lbs/35lbs/40lbs/45lbs/50lbs/55lbs/60lbs/60lbs/65lbs/70lbs
then we went back to the press to handstands:

comments: my shoulder felt it a tiny bit once we got up to the 25lb weighted pull-ups, but they felt really good on the press to handstands, and now post workout my shoulder feels a lot better. kinda weird. over all i felt like i didn't do enough. maybe because i am used to the more metcon workouts? i don't know...i never feel like i did enough until i am sweaty enough to make a sweat angel and too tired to move. ha.
food:
carbs: 237g 40%
protein: 184g 38%
fat: 49g 22%
total cals: 2048! eeeek having the cals creep past 2000 is hard to see, but i know i need to slowly increase.

I couldnt stand to be with somebody like that either! the pressure would be awful! I mean, yes i love working out and having a nice body, but to have a guy make me paranoid about eating a peice of cake, or putting on a couple of pounds - that would be horrible! I know BF likes my body, but i also know he would love me no less if i did gain 20lb or whatever. That guy needs to wake up and get real! yeah what about when his gf/wife gets preggers? or just, god forbid, gets old!
wow what a workout! those are great numbers for the weighted pullups. And nice job on breaking the 2000calorie mark. I know what u mean - once the number goes over 2k i start to freak out! Its silly - coz its just a number! kind of like another silly number... 105! lol

It's not that bad really. Old doesn't have to mean unfit or ugly! It's just not visually appealing in the same way. (thank goodness!)
God has it all worked out right anyways because that girl's BF will get old too. Those kind of people need a mirror held up to them a little more often.

i'm hoping my shoulder will feel ok so i can do 'elizabeth' tonight.
p.s., tim, jdr are either of you subscribed to the crossfit journal? i think my trainer said they are making some old articles free? i hope i am looking under the right place. i read the fast food piece which was quite interesting. i'm looking forward to reading more today.

i just realised i screwed this one up! i even did the math ahead of time subbing 3 regular assisted dips for each ring dip. my reps should have been 63,45,27, but again i am a dumbass and only remembered 63, then forsome reason i only did 30, 18 dips. i think i was so worried about my shoulder i just forgot what the heck i was doing. ok i have a quesion: i noticed the clean itself dosen't hurt my shouder, the only time i feel anything is after the clean is complete and i have come up fromthe squat and i need to get the bar back down to starting position. i end up kind of rolling it down so it hits my quads. ami doing this wrong? i am trying to control the movement more which feels better, but it is tough to control if i go over 45lbs. any ideas? is this incorrect?
dips bothered my shoulder slightly,so i didn't do the full ROM, just to right before where it hurt. i was still quite sweaty after this one,not enough tomake a sweat angel, but pretty decent.
finished up with some interior and exterior rotator cuff exercises. i was going to do this burpee/sit up workout my trainer told me about, but ran out of time. doing my strecthing right now as i type and sip on my protein shake. lol oh also my right chest muscle is very sore, same side as my shoulder pain, trainer said it could be from the presses, just weird that i am only sore on one side!
food:

protein: 188g 38%
fat: 48g 22%
total cals: 2097
another 2k cal day....

I don't subscribe to the journal but read they were going to start releasing more articles but not all.
I think on the cleans how ever it feels best to bring it down is fine. All the work is on the way up. For me I get a little pain( left shoulder) on the catch but thats it. Way to be smart on the dips. Good job!

i have to say i remember the exact same thing when i was doing cleans last! doing them was fine, but lowering the bar to the floor seems to bother me - like i felt the slight pull in my upper arm. I also get this pain when doing dips - good for u being sensible and not going down to far.
oh on the crossfit thing - BF was saying he was looking into the one closest to him, and they charge like 200$ a month or something?! that is just plain crazy when u can get a regular gym membership for 30$ - their 'rings' must be made of solid gold, and encrusted with diamonds! (that would hurt)
good job on getting the cals in - an extra 200cal or so a day will still only result in a very slow weight gain - hopefully all muscle! I see u have replaced your fig newtons with ww bread and chocolate spread - is this your night time snack? sounds yum. I remember eating panda hazelnut chocolate spread as a kid, but i havent had it in a long time.

thanks guys! yea so werid that it hurts when lowering the bar, it's that rotation part from the catch position, to where you are standing upright with arms down infront of you, bar at your thighs. glad to know i can bring the bar down anyway that is comfortable. i'll just take it slow.
minime, yes that is about how much the xfit gyms are up here, and from the pictures it is like an old warehouse! lol 'rings made out of solid gold'. i don't want to spend that much per month and then personal training on top of that! i pay $30 a month and the gym is really nice and in a convient location, frusterating about the HSPU, but the location, the benefit of my trainer and the fact that i am comfortable there is worth it to me right now. there is another gym close to my location that has a lot of cool equipment, but i think is also very expensive $150 per month?
bungie cords, tires, tubes, (tires and tubes made me think of tim) climbing rope, plyo boxes, blance beams, finger board for rock climbing, indoor sandpit... http://www.clubzum.com/f_equipment.htm
oh and yes, new nighttime snack! WW bread with nutella. my favorite. ive been doing it for over a month now and haven't noticed any negitive cnages with my body...so it's too good to pass up.....love me some nutella! i'm surprised you are not hooked on the stuff, as much as you love chocolate and sweets! i've never heard of panda choc. hazelnut spread, probably very similar though.
