Hi gymgirl,
It takes alot of courage and a healthy mind to share what you did in your recent post. I don't know if you realize the potential benefit it will provide to others who will read it or have read it. By sharing our deepest thoughts and secrets and allowing ourselves to be vulnerable, we get to know ourselves better, and we also allow others to know us better.
I hope you got as much out of your post as I and others did in reading it.
Have a great weekend!

Wow! You are strong-willed. Glad to hear that you had/have good people in your life looking out for you. I remember how tough it was to accept those "teen years" after being a skinny kid and having had a Mom who grew up in the Depression reminding me of how underweight she stayed until middle age. I didn't compete much in sports back then except for schoolgirl and mixed curling leagues - "SWEEP". I just participated in a ton of outdoor activities camping, canoeing, biking and hiking.

thank you pierini. it's quite weird putting yourself out there like that. but if it can help someone from making the same mistakes i did, well that would be fanstastic...i forgot to metion that after my dizzy spell episodes at age 19 something clicked and i knew my goals shifted; and instead of focusing on being 'skinny' i wanted to focus on being healthy and fit.
brat, yes i was quite lucky to have and still have such great people in my life. i dont know what i would do without my parents! those teen years were tough huh? i had never heard of curling...just looked it up and boy does that look like a tough sport! damn brat! :

LOL I don't know where you looked but most people I know throw curling in the same catagory as competative lawn bowling and darts! It was fun for the most part. The night owl bonspiels were tough but also very fun. You basically play against all the teams and the game are scheduled through the day and night over a weekend. In the school girl competitions I played against Ann Merklinger, from one of the top ladies from one of the top curling families of all times. She was the real deal but we had her quaking at one point.
The toughest thing I ever did was a ropes course set 25 feet off the ground in an old barn. You get half way through it and you realize you can't chicken out, you have to finish it or you can't get back to secure ground.

I've always thrown curling in the "I-don't-get-it" category of sports.

For a long time I have believed that, in general, traveling pain is a good sign and means that the pain is trying to exit your body.

I am serious. You will note that I prefaced my comment with "in general".

cardio:
30 min on eliptical 4.10 miles
did some stretching and foam rolling. wanted to try running again today, but my knee felt a bit tight after the eliptical. felt better after foam rolling.
i couldn't figure out what to work today, and lacked motivation due to my shoulder pain. my shoulder hurts to put weight on it, and to hold anything too heavy.
the only thing i ended up doing was a pathetic attempt at biceps.
4 superset rounds of:
21's on the bosu: 10lbs
hammer curls on bosu: 10lbs 4x12
really sucks only using 10lbs. even one of the trainers at my gym was like, c'mon i know you can do more then that! kinda embarrasing, but had to explain i was dealing with a messed up shoulder.
have my trainer tomorrow, so hopefully i will feel a little bit better.
food:
carbs:192g 39%
protein: 135g 33%
fat: 51g 28%
cals: 1694
trying to keep the cals down due to my pathetic showing at the gym today.

Gymgirl - The eliptical machine is a good substitute when you can't run. You are tough... I really admire the fact that you get a good workout in dispite being injured. You are a "role-model".
