hey jdr, sorry i missed your post. now that you point it out i believe the ball was only 17lbs not 20! i was so out of it last night i forgot to post the modification, as i cut and paste from crossfit. it's amazing how heavy 17lbs can be when it's coming down at you like that. knocked me on my ass a couple of times...seriously, people stared too.

Hey girl, everything is looking good. Nice, intense workouts you are having.
BTW, you know that telling the boys to look away is a surefire way to get us to look. Yes, feeling drained at certain times if perfectly normal for a girl.

gymgirl - yes i did find the double unders would be better with padding! feet hurt so much hiting the floor that hard!
i think getting weak/drained before totm is normal - that and the sweets cravings lol! then when they arrive though i sometimes get energetic.. weird.
good job yesterday ,95lb dl for 4x8 is great! food breakdown looks good... so close to the 40/40/20!

thanks welch. it's nice to see you back around here. you are always so helpful and full of great advice.
ha, i should have known that the boys would look...just didn't feel right talking about that stuff without some sort of a warning...i know how some guys can get all grossed out and stuff.
ok good to know about the fatiugue. i thought it was normal, but it really affected/effected (still don't know which is which) my workouts this week. minime, i too sometimes get that burst of engergy at the time you mentioned...it is so werid. normally i require 8-9 hours of sleep and on those days i can sleep 6-7 and still feel great.
thanks jdr for the reminder about the effort put in. i tend to forget that. i always feel like i have some sort of short term deadline and i want to get the most out of my workouts before this event or that wedding or this vacation...ugh. i really need to get over it.
gotta figure out a workout for tonight, but i am tired and sore. i'm out of town for the day thursday so no gym, i'm going to try to squeeze it in friday, and sat i work all day and then b/f company holiday part so no gym again. only 3 1/2 weeks until hawaii!
minime when do you go to boston?

warmup:
1 mile run at 0.5% incline, 6.5-6.7
snatch: 45lbs 1x8, 50lbs 1x4
workout:
5 rounds for time of:
50lbs snatch, 15 reps
400m run
time: 29:54
i took tim's advice and am starting to add a bit more weight (yes 5lbs dosent look like much but it felt like 100lbs increase) and my time was almost 3 min slower then last time (27:17 on 11/10). last time i did 45lbs snatches and only ran at 6.7. this time i ran at 7.5 and 7.3 on the 4th round. i seriously almost quit after round 3, i was so exhaused. 1st round unbroken, 2nd round 8/4/3, last 3 rounds 5/5/5. i thought this was never going to end. my shoulders were sore in the good way, after the first round. previous time i did all but the 3rd set unbroken. i gather i must be having an off week. i just can't imagine that adding 5lbs would make it that much more difficult. oh well i was drenched and dripping all over the floor and my arms are shot so mission accomplished. i also had one of those overambitious days where i thought i would get a leg workout in after this...that so didn't happen, as i could hardly see straight.
food:
carbs: 227g 39%
protein: 175g 36%
fat: 54g 25%
my co-workers were really sweet and threw a little belated b-day thing for me at work today. i feel bad because they struggle with me as i'm not a cake fan and they know i eat healthy. they ended up bringing in 3 types of cheeses,1 semi-soft goat cheese, 1 soft goat cheese and 1 brie. also olive bread, crackers, a huge bowl of melons and pinapple (my favorite) then someone also brought in some cookie/fruit bar, and doughnuts. i had 1/2 of the cookie bar which was good but too sweet for me (unbelievable i know!) everything was really good, but that is why my cals are a bit high. kinda werid as i didn't even eat much! tomorrow is going to be another weird eating day as i will be on a train for 7 hours.

If you get restless on the train, you can always do some isometric contractions and posing holds. So what if people look at you funny because you are flexing your biceps.
Enjoy the train ride. Hopefully there will be some scenery to view.

aw thats so sweet that your work colleagues did that for you - and they got healthy stuff too!
oh and i am going to boston on the 23rd december until the 7th of january - im so excited!
I know what u mean about always having something coming up that u want to be in shape for. I feel like that too! But dont worry about it, you already look so great, i dont think theres any room for improvement at all. In fact u may as well just stop working out, and sit around and eat pie all day!
the other day i had someone say that if they had my figure they would never do any exercise and would just eat chocolate all day long
oh, great workout btw - its amazing how much a difference 5lb can make for somethings..

Good for you! As you continue to work out with the heavier weight, your system will adapt to the increased demands and before you know it you'll be moving on to 55 lbs. I'm not surprised that a 5 lb increase was hard on the snatch, that exercise is the devil and I always struggle with any increase whatsoever.

the other day i had someone say that if they had my figure they would never do any exercise and would just eat chocolate all day long p>lol, did you tell them that if you sat around and just ate chocolate all day you wouldn't look the way you do!? people are so funny. right now everyone in my office is eating chocolate covered pretzles...i really want some but i ate horribly yesterday and tomorrow is b/f's work holidy party, so i will be eating a lot of bad things.pierini, great tip on doing the isometric exercises on the train. i was lazy and didn't do anything.oh and tim you are right, the snatch is the devil of an exercise...man those 5lbs were rough! i am so tired, didn't get to pack enough food since i got home so late last night but i really need to go to the gym. i don't think i can hang wiht another x-fit-ish workout so i think today is going to be a 3x8 circuit day.

cardio:
3 mile run on treadmill. 1.5 miles at 6.5-6.7. 1 mile 400m at 7.5, 400m at 6.3, 400m at 7.5, 400m at 6.3. last 800m at 6.7.
stretching:
stretched legs and did shoulder warm-up
warm-up:
squat: 45lbs 1x10, 65lbs 1x6, 75lbs 1x4
clean and jerk: 45lbs 1x8, 55lbs 1x3
BW pull-ups (strict): 1x10
workout:
3x8 circuit:
squat: 90lbs
weighted pull-ups: 105+15lbs
clean and jerk: 55lbs
i meant to do 80lbs on squats but after the second time through i was thinking it was a lot harder then last week. i recounted the weight and realised it was 90lbs! this whole workout was tough for me today. last time i did this workout i only did 5 reps, and adding those last 3 reps were hard for me. also my tummy wasn't feeling well...ugh. it's been a rough week!
i have to work all freckin day tomorrow so no gym.
food:
thursday: rest day, and train ride, no good food selections
carbs: 211g 40%
protein: 123g 27%
fat: 68g 33%
total cals: 1884
i brought food on the train but that didn't last long. had to eat out they didn't have fish so i had a lot of carbs/fat, and not much protein.
friday: workout day EDIT: didn't eat some things i had planned on, so i updated my food
carbs: 193g 40%
protein: 171g 43%
fat: 351g 18%
total cals: 1686
