thanks minime and jdr! i surprised myself with the squats...hopefully someday i will be able to squat like minime! you are right jdr, it's a good think my math is horrible...lol
yes it is so hard to eat properly when your schedule gets messed up. i guess i could have done worse (thanks for making me feel better minime!) but i would have liked to get more protein in...i tried to make up for it yesterday. lol.
so i am going to ramble a bit. i am stuck at work all day and it is going to be slow until the late afternoon when all the load-ins start for the 5 different holiday parties going on at once. then when they all get going i get to run home and get ready for the b/f's company holiday party. it's italian themed this year so lots of good food and wine...tonight is my cheat meal!
ok so i guess now is a better time then ever to share some news that has and will continue to effect my fitness goals. this past summer i did a spread on abs for one of the major news papers in the city. i demonstrated ab exercises and did a few ab shots. anyway, i had so much fun doing the shoot, i wanted to find out how to do more things like that. to make a long story short (or shorter) i got an offer to sign with a sports modeling agency last month. their main clients are nike, addidas, under armour, REI, columbia, & nautalis. it should be fun and a nice way to earn some extra money. so now i really have to stay in shape, which is also why i haven't gone petal do the metal with my origional goals of putting on mass. i plan to continue with the 3x8 lifting days, along with crossfit. i need to say lean, but i am not going to kill myself or strive to lose anymore bodyfat. the nice part is they don't want aneroexic looking people, rather people who are fit and healthy. i will need to continue working on edurance as they explained you could be on a shoot for a client where they have you running back and forth for hours at a time until they get the shots they need.
so i'm planning on getting my pictures done in february, (since i am going on vacation for 10 days early january, and will need a few weeks in the gym upon my return!) and i want to look defined/buff. i might start throwing in a few isolation exercises here and there for my arms, (they seem to look like toothpicks if i don't really hit them hard) and some more crunches. i've been slacking on the abs. i feel like my legs are coming along, but there is always room for improvment....
so there you have it...my short and longer term goals for now. if anyone has any ideas on what else i should/could be doing until february, please let me know! i'm all ears! oh also...regarding diet. should i tread the picture date similarly to a competetion, and try to cut a few weeks out so i look leaner, or is it best to avoid sodium so i don't retain water and look bloated?
have a good weekend everyone!

That's great gymgirl. I'm happy for you.
You know, I think isometrics would be great to tweak your body for photo shoots. It's an overlooked training modality as are the dynamic visualized resistance (DVR) and dynamic self-resistance (DSR) exercises promoted by John Peterson in his book "Pushing Yourself To Power". Peterson has a new book that has been in the works for a long time on isometrics and I'm sure it will be great.
You already have a full fitness plate so I don't know if there is room for anything else, but I guarantee you isometrics would do a good job of the precision sculpting that is needed for good photos.

way to go gymgirl! I don't think you need to worry too much about cutting down or antyhing like that.. or they WILL be recieveing an anorexic-looking girl lol. You look so great already, i don't think u could look much better!
thats awesome - i was wondering what it was that u were planning... i knew there was something up.. I thought that u were going to become a crossfit certified trainer or something along those lines..
Now that you are going to be a model you will have to stop eating food and take up smoking

Rather than preacher curls or some other similar goofiness for your biceps, I prescribe more pullups.
I'm not really a doctor, I just play one on the internet.

hahahaha, never!
thanks guys! and yes midgetcop, i'll post the pictures. the ones in february will be for my composite card so the agency can start getting me work. until then i will just be working hard to get some more muscle and stay lean.
pierni, thanks for the tips on sculpting. i will need to do some more research on that and check out the book too.
how'd you know something was up minime? you psychic?
speaking of training, i would love to get certified as a trainer...not crossfit quite yet...but maybe someday down the road! i know you too have though about training right? just seems like most of what we do is fitness related, why not try to get paid for it, ya know?
tim, lol you are funny. i WISH i could do more pull-ups...you are right they really build your biceps. however my stupid tendonitis is limiting me. i did however check with my physical therapist and she does the trigger point therapy that i have read so much about on the crossfit site, hopefully i can get back in with her and get my shoulders feeling better.
thanks for all of your tips and support guys, even if i never get booked for an actual job, it should atleast be an interesting experience.
now i have to actually go work.

I agree with Minime. You have a great mix in your workouts!
I think Tim meant chinups for the Bi's and I agree if they don't hurt.
Very happy for you! Look forward to saying "Hey, I know that girl."

Whoa! Now that is BIG TIME. If you got to where you are now by doing what you do, then I couldn't see the need to change your workouts much. : You waltzed in here with great abs right from the beginning. I'm sure you'll do well no matter what you train at. Don't forget us when you're famous eh?

lmao. you and brat are too funny. i'll be happy if i book 1 job in the next year!
anyway, thanks again everyone. i guess ya'll are right, i'll just keep doing what i am doing...throw in some chinnies and look into pierini's suggestion as something to add when i get close to the date of my pictures. oh and minime, great idea with the bb row. i have only done them once, last week, and you are right they get your biceps too. i'll thrown those in on my circuit days.
so i took sat and sunday off. worked all day sat then went to b/f's holiday party. the theme was italian so lots of pasta and risotto and of corse...vino! vino! vino! ha i'll be posting my food later...spent sunday recovering, and napping.
today i had the day off from work and made it to the gym.

warm-up:
stretching and shoulder warm-up
workout:
"Nicole"
Complete as many rounds in 20 minutes as you can of:
Run 400 meters
Max rep Pull-ups
Post number of pull-ups completed for each round to comments.
6 rounds: 15/11/10/12/10/10
well i had to do this WOD today as i am assuming this is named for THE nicole(is there an Eva workout?). she is my CF hero, she has the most amazing body (sorry that sounds kinda pervy....but ya'll know what i mean) by those pictures she seems like a kick-ass chick and i like that. anyway, dang this was tough. the first 3 runs were at 7.4 (2:08), 4th run at 7.5(2:05), and last run at 8.0 (1:55). i think that was my first 400m under 2 min.
pull-ups were done mini kipping, didn't do full kips becuse those start to wear on my shoulders. i was more out of breath after pull-ups then the run. this was 20 min of huffing.
cooldown:
800m run at 6.7-7.0
followed by 10 min of laying on the floor trying to catch my breath and not feel as though i was going to pass out. then stretched for 20 min until i regained my strength to drive home .lol

That's awesome. Running faster as you get more fatigued.

My planned workout today includes pullups and, coincidentally some 400 meter repeats as part of a planned interval workout. That's so close to this WOD that I may just do it.
Good job!
