oh goodness dan, I didn't do the 225#DL! that is what is rx'd for crossfit! I only did 100#'s! maybe you missed my sub note! I usualy just copy the workout from crossfit, so I know what was rx'd then scale it down so I can complete it safely!
The day I can DL 225# is the day hell freezes over!

100lbs at part of what you did is still pretty damn impressive. I know I couldn't do it myself.

Gymgirl,
Good! I don't feel so weak now! I actually felt a bit of depression set in when I misread that. Thanks for clearing it up--I'm back to normal again
Did you get the forearm tendentious thing under control?
Have you heard of " Active Release Technique"? I've both read and heard that it is better than trigger point therapy. If you are interested spend some time asking and doing some research on the subject.
Some people have experienced amazing results!

oh i forgot to say I sure hope you are right tim! i'd be so happy to just do it as rx'd! and under 5 min would be simply amazing. I'll keep working at it. tim for some reason i thought cindy got you started on CF i had no idea it was fran.
my workout on saturday was one of those where i was overambitious. i always forget how taxing C&J's are, and i haven't done them before on a 3x12 day (now i know why). and tim you are right they really do get your legs so i guess i got them in there that way! i was really trying to get low on those cleans, andby the time i got to the jerk my legs were on fire.
hi minime! i knew before i started doing kipping pull-ups i too thought this has to be cheating. but after reading about it and why people kip and then doing it myself, i don't think of it as cheating. if your goal is to do more work in less time, then i don't view it as cheating. also before i started kipping pull-ups i maxed out at 10 strict pull-ups, now i can do 16 i think, and strict pull-ups have become easier since i've replaced most pull-ups with kipping...if that makes any sense. anyway, i read this thread when i started and it helped me understand why the kip was taught. it's really long but an interesting read if you are bored at work! lol Crossfit.com discussion board: Archive through April 04, 2005
anyway glad you guys enjoyed the video. i watched it like 5 times on saturday. lol
welch, dan thanks for not laughing after realising i only did 100# not 225#!
p.s. i had to take some pics of my shins after a day of DL, sadly this is what they look like almost everytime...just had to capture it for archival benefit. lol. it actually looks 10x worse in person, and i keep bumping my shins for somereason! boy does it look hot when i wear a skirt and heals!
oh and p.s.s. dan i'm going to check out active release technique. i've never heard of it but will read up! thanks for the tip! i'll post food tomorrow...gotta get to bed, early 4:30am morning tomorrow. yuck.
hope everyone had a great weekend!

Nice shins gymgirl.
Looks like the shins of a full-contact karate or a muy thai fighter. Now all you need are some calluses on your knuckles.

The day you deadlfit 225# is the day i pack my DF bags and leave with my head hanging in shame Just kidding. When you are DLing 225 i will be right behind you. I suspect by then we will both weigh AT LEAST 108

haha thanks everyone, i just had to share. i kinda like my battle scars too! they are painful, but looking a lot better today...until next time i guess!
minime, i'm not sure why you get those red spots above your knees, maybe you are pulling the bar into you at the top of the movement, which i believe is correct. i think the reason my shins get so messed up is that i used to DL wrong. when i started with this new trainer he would always say, pull the bar into your shins. lol. the other thing i was thinking about is i've been trying to keep my shoulderblades right over the bar when in the starting position, this i think forces me to really pull the bar back into my legs or something...i don't know, just a thought.
also, minime, someday we WILL be able to DL 225# and lol yep i bet we will weigh 108# or maybe even MORE!!! I've been meaning to tell you, I love how we have similar goals and are progressing together. it makes it fun, your are like my little training buddy, only 1/2 way across the world!
anyway, i'm rambling...i forgot to post my food this weekend...it wasn't so great either.
friday: rest day & cheat meal of thai food.
carbs: 205g 40%
protein: 115g 26%
fat: 65g 34%
total cals: 1790
saturday: workout day & another cheat meal this time ravioli
carbs: 226g 43%
protein: 147g 32%
fat: 50g 25%
total cals: 1909
sunday: rest day
carbs: 172g 36%
protein: 139g 33%
fat: 56g 31%
total cals: 1693
I was starving all weekend long, still hungry today too, even after Sunday's rest day.

cardio:
3 mile run, 0.5% incline
800m warm-up at 6.5-7.0
400m at 7.6
400m at 6.3
400m at 7.7
400m at 6.3
400m at 7.8
400m at 6.3
400m at 7.9
400m at 6.3
400m at 8.0
400m at 6.3
400m at 6.7 (i had to stop and stretch a few times on the recovery so i threw in an extra 400m)
time: 26:25 (time not including last 400m at 6.7)
stretching:
felt a lot of thightness in my hips, knees and shoulders. spent some time foam rolling things out.
warm-up
squat clean: 45x10
snatch: 45x5, 50x3, 55x1
seated hammer strength row: 90x5, 100x3
5x5 circuit: approx. 90% of max, 2:00min rest between rounds
snatch: 55x5, 55x5, 55x5, 55x5, 55x5
seated hammer strength row: 100x5, 100x5, 100x5, 100x5, 100x5
luckily today's CF WOD was back squat 5-5-5-5-5 so it fit right into my 5x5 day!
squat warm-up: 45x10, 95x5
5x5 squat:
125x5, 130x5, 135x5, 130x5, 130x5
squats felt pretty good today. got stuck at the bottom of the second rep of 135# set, but was able to push through somehow. i can't believe that in december my 1RM was 125#, now 125x5 was pretty easy.
food:
carbs: 195g 36%
protein: 159g 35%
fat: 57g 28%
total cals: 1863
my fat has been creeping up there, but i've been eating more nuts and salmon...i'm just trying to make myself ok with it. lol my mind knows good fat is good FOR me, but when it creeps up past 25% i get a little nervous. ha! stupid, i know.
