Just want to comment.

hahahaha JDR you are so funny! my evening routine is as follows: post WOD results on CF while drinking PWO protein shake, then shower, then make dinner, then enter reamining food into fitday, THEN post my workout and food on DF! no, i'm not a creature of habit...

minime, thanks for the comment on yesterdays workout! I'm shocked and happy with my progress.

trainer day!

4 rounds for time of:
20 pound Wallball, 25 shots (12# ball)
Walking lunges, 100 feet
15 foot Rope climb, 3 ascents (sub 30 towel pull-ups)

time: 19:27

JDR smoked me today! no wonder you wanted me to post my time! lol

the sub for rope climb is 15 towel pull-ups so for 3 ascents i should have been doing 45 towel pull-ups. there seems to be a lot of contreversy over that sub, and i agree 45 towel pull-ups is NOT equivilent to 3 rope asccents. my trainer scaled it down to 30 for me, which was still brutal. my stupid brachialis still hurts, and hurt so much more during those pull-ups. JDR you said this happened to you after doing Annie before right? If you saw my post on CF then you saw my question...do you know what the heck it is or how long till it goes away?

finished up with some handstand holds and reverse planche practice, but my arms hurt too much so we stopped.

agility course sprints: approx. 100m, 30 sec rest between attempts

1) :19
2) :17
3) :17.83
4) :17.7
5) :17.59
6) :18
7) :18
8) :17:44
9) :16:55

I had on my 8 year old lifting shoes that are actually ripped at the heal, and have no traction. i was sliding on the hardwood floor when darting through the punching bags. I'd like to try this again with my running shoes on!

food:

carbs: 218g 39%
protein: 158g 33%
fat: 60g 28%

total cals: 1966

great job gymgirl! JDR beat u but he subbed regular pullups(15) and you subbed towel pullups (30) sorry JDR not trying to say your time wasnt brilliant coz it was!

Is the agility course running between punch bags for 100m? I have trouble get 16 seconds on a 100 sprint, and u got that with bags in your way! your fast!

So are u hungry a lot on the higher cals? Like yesterday you had almost 2k but were u satisfied for most of the day or were u hungry often?

I was hungry, OFTEN! all freckin day long! yeah those sprints were fun, my trainer was guessing it was 100m maybe it was less, because i doubt i was that fast. he ran it in 13 seconds, but he is a crazy fast sprinter! you should have seen me slipping and sliding around those bags! lol

oh get this, my trainer was going to do yesterdays WOD with me (because I love when he worksout with me while trainig) and he got in trouble. apperently he can only workout with me if he is not getting paid. i asked the owner if he is getting paid to motivate me, and I am motivated by a little competition with him, whats the harm? He told me my trainer has to be in uniform (their uniform is jeans and a baseball jersy type button up shirt...what?, i know!) anyway, so that was lame.

oh thats good to hear, sometimes I think there is something wrong with me... like i have a 'food eating bug' in my tummy which is disposing of my food and so making me hungry all the time lol

Your trainer sounds like he is in great shape. Your gym sounds like they have some serious issues! They should wallpaper the walls with the 'rules' it sounds like there are enough of them!

I think it's great that the training wants to workout with you. It might even be motivation for him to have you working out with him. The reason he has to be in his designated uniform during working hours is most likely so he can be easily identified. Alot of gyms have people dressed in workout cloths and a shirt saying the name of the gym. How do you know they didn't get it from the gym store. So maybe you could find out when he trains on his off time and you two can get together.

THAT is so funny you say that because far too often I worry about the same thing! I forgot the name of those bugs that can get in your stomache from canned food or something, then they eat up everything so you are constantly hungry. Everytime I keep eating like crazy and don't get full, I panic for a bit. lol

yeah my trainer is in fantastic shape (though he dosn't think so) he is so good at handstands and planches and stuff like that too which is just not right as he's never even done gymnastics before! and you are right, they should wallpaper the gym with 'the rules', they'd have to add a new sheet each day though! lol. i really do like my gym, it's beautiful, the vibe is great, good location, i know all the staff and a lot of members, but those damn rules! lol i just have to vent every now and then!

your_crazy, yeah we actually talked about that, we might just have to workout at his house next time we want to train together.

its just crazy how responsive my appetite is to exercise : when i was in boston and not exercising much, i felt hungry rarely. Now i can't get enough food, and its all relatively clean food too. I mean i know i eat too much bread but still: its not like im eating maccy ds! lol

thats good to hear : because i wondered is it possible for someone to get really good at that stuff with no history in gymnastics. I am horribly unflexible right now and would probably fall on my head if i tried to do a handstand... but its nice to know there is hope for me yet!

Minime, Gymgirl was just being nice to me about the time! Thanks Gymgirl.

I think you need to cut back on the pullup reps for a bit or sub a different
exercise. As you can see from my post I've been cutting back and my elbows feel fine.
I still do pullups in my warmup if there not in the wod, I just do them slower and smoother with no jerking and they feel good.
I think when we are going for time and high reps all the power we are trying to generate is going right to the elbows.
You could also try doing small sets, it will hurt your time but may help. So say for 30 reps you try 6 sets of 5.
My elbows do feel great now I've just been staying on the safe side for now.

thanks JDR. My arm feels totaly fine today, but I know it might be another story if I do high volume pull-ups. I'll take your advice and break my sets down today (atleast there are only 30 reps). i'll just have to suck it up and have a bad time. thanks so much for the advice!

minime, i too when on vacation ate far fewer calories and didn't get hungry like i do when training. speaking of which it's time for more food!!!

cardio:
2.25 mile run, 0.5% incline
800m warm-up
400m at 8.0, 400m at 6.3 x3
400m jog at 6.5

ran into the fitness director who was there to workout. i got him to try today's WOD with me. He's done a couple WOD's with my trainer before, so he has an idea what CF is all about. He was hesitant at first then i told him what the workout was and he says..."oh only 45# SDHP's and only 45# thrusters? sure i'll do it...but i need to do my legs." i tell him trust me your legs will feel this. hahaha.

workout:

"Jackie"

For time:
1000 meter Row (sub 100 SDHP, 30#)
45 pound Thruster, 50 reps
30 Pull-ups

time: 8:27

athletic director did 45# SDHP, and finished with 13:05. we were both a sweaty mess. when he finished he fell to the ground and laid on his back. i told him...see that's why you always see me doing that when I'm done...then i had him make a sweat angel...he must gave been exhaused because he didn't even say anything about getting the floor dirty. lol
he then said, "geez i got my ass kicked by a girl." ha.

anyway that was fun. i really like having someone there suffering with me. makes me push just a little harder. my braccialis feels better today, no pain until AFTER the workout. was a bit sore for 1 hour, and feels good now. hopefully this will go away soon. JDR i took your advice did 8 reps the first set then 3-4, then 2 the rest of the way!

food:

carbs: 191g 35%
protein: 164g 35%
fat: 61g 30%

total cals: 1903

eeek fat is up to 30%! had smoked salmon and regular salmon today...

I swear I don't know how you manage to get through the day on so little food and such intense workouts.

I would be headachy all day from hunger if I tried that! I really notice it when I drop down to 2500 calories for a few days in a row and I don't even do as much as you do for training.

Nice workout as usual!:

Great job Gymgirl! Very fast

Very nice dragging along a friend.
I found the thrusters to be very tough!

It looks like from a video I saw that a thruster is a front squat with a push press. Is that it?

great job on jackie gymgirl! that looks like a toughie. 50 45lb thrusters = ouch! And im sure sdhp are WAY harder than a 1000m row. Your gym HAS to get a rower!

snoboarder : that is what a thruster is. They are tough!

i don't know either. i've upped my calories from about 1500-1600 to 1800-2000. i don't usualy feel sluggish, (except when i am at work, and that's mostly becuse i don't want to be here) and if i am hungry i eat! i don't know it seems to be working for me right now.

jdr, i too thought the thrusters were unusually tough. maybe because they were right after 100 SDHP's! i HATE thrusters.

oh eric as minime confirmed for you, yes thrusters are like a front squat with a push press, so basically they suck!

minime, i sure wish our gym had a rower. they are building a second gym which apperently will have a rowing studio and rowing classes similar to spinning...
