My intuitive guess is if I did that workout, including the run you did, that I would burn between 900 and 1,100 calories depending on intensity. I'm 180 lbs. Extrapolating that to you (aren't you about about 105 lbs. I think) calcs out at between 522 and 638 calories.

Nothing scientific about that, just my intuitive guestimate.

That was one heck of a huge chipper you were put through! Your trainer has a real sadistic streak (I dig that)...

wow you were pretty right on...i put my run into fitday too and my total cals burned were 565! great guestimate!

tim, i dig it too. the best is when he actually does the work out with me. he kicks my butt in ways i never even imagined, and of corse i love every minute of it.

JDR3, go ahead and post your 4 WOD's you did. i get tired just reading your journal!

Wednesday, 7.19.06

no cardio today.

Legs
this is only my second REAL leg day since my injury. i skipped out on my leg trainer today due to a work function. did legs on my own.

DB step-ups- 15lbs 3x15
bosu squats- 15lbs 1x20, 20lbs 2x15
bosu lunges (front leg on bosu back leg up on bench)- bw 1x15, 10lbs 2x15
hamstring curls with stability ball- 3x20
sumo squats- 10lbs 1x20, 15lbs 2x20

finished up with my physical therapy...i swear it's a good 30 minutes of exercises! oh well, anything to heal and prevent another injury!

i love my trainer! he really is great. yeah i don't know what is going on with the protein, but i'll go with it.

my legs are sore today!

Thursday 7.20.06

Cardio:
3 miles at 6.7

started with pull-ups 1x12, 1x10. i am seriously still shocked at how much easier pullups are now, after doing those crossfit workouts.

biceps & triceps

3 superset rounds of:
7's's on the bosu 12.5lbs
hammer curls on one leg on bosu, 15lbs

curls with ez curl bar- 30lbs 3x12

3 superset rounds of
skull crushers with 20lbs curl bar
tricep kick back 12.5lbs

finished up with some reverse push-ups and physical therapy.

Food:

cals were high again today, and my protein was insane for me, and i wasn't even trying! i have been so hungry, i eat and i am REALLY hungry again after one hour. i usualy eat every 2 hours or so, but the past two days have been nuts.

carbs: 208g 34%
protein: 215g 42%
fat: 56g 25%

total cals: 2121

Good job on the pullups, looks like the running is picking up. Nice workout.
I hope I get to where I like to run more at some point.

haha NONE yesterday! minime pointed out this chili i make is high protein...i'm not sure how accurate it is, since i make it and it is not from a tin can. the ingredients look about right though...it's got 3 kinds of beans in it so maybe that's where it all comes from. i also had 3 oz of tuna and 6oz of salmon so that added a lot of protein, oh and also a zone bar (it's my treat!) i know though 2121 cals on a non-cheat day. oh well according to fitday i still burned more then i ate. i also need to put back on a bit of muscle i lost with my injury (3lbs in 3weeks!) i'm assuming it was muscle as my bodyfat actually decresed slightly AND my weight dropped 3 lbs. 3lbs on frames like ours definitely shows!

also, thanks JDR. yeah the running is picking up, slowly. still no HIIT stuff, but i've been able to pick up the pace each day with no pain. also you said you hope to get to a point where you like to run more? i have a love/hate relationship with running, but after being injured i couldn't wait to get back at it. what is really helpful to me is having my ipod, then i just sort of focus on my stride and zone out a bit.

dont worry about the 2000cals - i was kidding about the 'bulky' thing haha coz girls always think they will get bulky (if only they knew how damn hard it is lol)

if u are eating all clean foods and u get 2000+ cals then your body needed it - if it was lots of crap foods u were eating it would be different!

Besides with 3lbs to gain, u can afford to chow down! go on, have some more chili! And yes, i know how 3lbs can show on a small frame. If u lost 3lbs and decreased by .6 of a bf % ( i think u said u went from 14.8 to 14.2?) then that means u lost one pound of fat and two of muscle, which isnt so bad - at least it wasnt ALL muscle lol.

how do u test your bf% is it with a calipers? I was thinkin of getting one of those scales but I suspect it may be a waste of money..

good point! i guess my body needed it, i could NOT stop eating these past few days...and it's not even pms, which is when i usualy can't control my eating! thanks for the info on the weight/bodyfat/muscle break down. i dont' know how in the world i lost one pound of fat when i hardly did cardio! i guess i just ate a LOT less. Tonight i will have a cheat meal, yay for tortellini! thanks as always for your support minime.

oh and yes i use calipers to test body fat. one week a trainer used the machine where you enter in your hight, age, weight and then you hold the metal handles and it takes your body fat. that one read 15%, then a week later my trainer used the calipers and i got the 14.8%. i've never tried the scale, but i think it is similar to the thing that you hold with your hands. Are there trainers or staff at your gym that will take your bodyfat for you? i saw you tried something online where you entered in your measurements and got your bodyfat percentage...i've never done that, but i wonder how how much of a difference you would find between that reading and a scale or calipers. i have a feeling it will measure you less then what you got online.

I had a trainer at my gym do my reading with that scale. At first I was skeptical because he couldn't explain how it worked, but I did some research and found out that it supposedly does work (sends some electrical signal through your feet).
