wow gymgirl, great job on Micheal! And on Tabata FGB : that looks brutal. You are so funny shouting at the barbell!

I can't believe xfit doesnt have a bathroom, did u not need to pee at any stage? I couldnt stand that, i need to pee very often...

I assume that speen is the 500m time or something, usually i am at 2:45 to 3 which is very bad, i need to think about doing that next time, fast on the pull and then count to 3.

also great job on the front squat, they are so much harder than back squats!

i cant believe u can do a pullup with a 45lb dumbell.. you are an animal!

Pierini, I know we've been getting up around the same time these past few weeks! the past two weeks have been 4:15-4:45am wake-up days. The only thing that helps me get out of bed is knowing I will be done with work by 2pm

That is a funny story about Louie. I do the loud gag session too, I can't even get close to brushing my tounge or i will full on puke. poor louie, i know how he feels. thanks for sharing that pierini.

Thanks guys, yesterdays workout really kicked my butt. I am very sore. Minime, i know i think i went nuts for a moment when i yelled at that barbell. hahaha. oh and yeah it is really weird that there is no bathroom at CFN and of CORSE i had to pee. I always have to pee, i pee when i get to the gym, and usualy once after cardio and maybe once again before i leave if i know i am going to be in traffic. I was surprised because it was the first CF affiliate and has been around for awhile now, and I've seen other crossfits through videos that look much nicer. This is in an old wherehouse on and old navy base that got turned over to the city...

anyway, thanks minime for the nice comments, and yeah front squats suck! they are soooo much harder the backsquats!

today was a CF rest day which worked out nicely as I had to skip the gym for my dental appt. today. I SURVIVED! whoooo! i told them i was terrified so they were super nice. They have those goggles with headphones so you get to watch movies. Thank goodness they had Friends on DVD. Friends always calms and relaxes me. I always watched my friends DVD's when I was home alone and scared, or on the plane when I am nervous and when I am traveling it makes me feel safe and like i am at home...I don't know why but there is something very comforting about that show.

They gave me the shots which I hardly felt and they told me the hard part was over. the fillings took maybe 3 min per side. I was in and out including the 10 min wait for the novicaine to kick in in 20 min. faster then a cleaning!

3 hours later and my mouth is still extreamly numb. i can't smile or rub my lips together. finaly my throat is back to normal. I'm starving but can't eat yet either! i'd rather be numb for a few extra hours then have the novcaine run out while still getting drilled.

Food:

carbs: 181g 37%
protein: 136g 33%
fat: 54g 30%

total cals: 1660

we had a b-day party for a co-worker. everyone brought in cheese, crackers and fruit. I had some pineapple, strawberries and cheese with 2 crackers. when the cake came out the birthday girl is asked me in front of everyone to please have a piece of cake and that it was her b-day wish. ifeel bad but i still said no thanks. i don't get why people do this? she is trying to lose weight, she just joined my gym and got a Personal trainer. So she gets it. maybe she felt guilty about cheating and didn't want to cheat alone? i have no idea. the cake looked good too, it was some fancy chocolate moose thing from whole foods. yum.

Gymgirl I have to ask -- did you see Heather Mills on Dancing with the Stars the other night? I was flipping channels and there she was. Dang she did a back walk over! I don't even have a missing limb and I couldn't begin to dance like that!

And what's with this new Bachelor series, the one with the hunky bodies??

Sorry about the dental work. It's not only about eating sugar. Your saliva chemistry and enamal have a lot to do with it. I haven't had a cavity for years As a kid that was another story!

Your workouts are as disciplined as ever!:

haha arbit. I had already logged my food for the day and didn't feel like having a cheat today. I ate cheese instead! I like to save my cheats for the weekend!

Brat, you know what I have missed DTWS this season so far. the first 3 episodes are saved on my DVR and I hope to catch up this weekend. wow heather mills did a backwalkover? pretty impressive! I can't wait to watch.

Whats up with the new bachelor? I haven't heard about this. I knew a new season was comming but I don't know who the bachelor is, nor did i know he was going to have a hunky bod! whoooo. I had such a crush on the last two bachelors, travis stork (?) and Prince Lorenzo. man he was hot.

interesting tidbit about the salvia. I was the opposite. Didn't have a cavity until my senior year of HS. then have had like 4 since. my mouth is still extreamly numb. I was able to eat some salad on one side of my mouth but the other side is still messed up i can't even move my lips.

Great job on the cake issue. Chocolate cake and chocolate mousse are two of my weaknesses.

No she doesn't get it. Having the dietary dedication to say no is why you look the way you do and perform as well as you do. Maybe you can inspire her to actually get it someday.

Even though full cheating weekends are part of my plan, I do feel terribly guilty having them. But not so guilty that I won't stop by your journal to rub it in.

Seriously, great job and keep up the hard work and discipline.

Thanks Tim and Welch. Yeah I love me some chocolate mouse....mmmm. I think I might have some chocolate covered pretzels or some ben and jerrys for a treat this weekend. mmm i'm already dreaming of my weekend cheat meals! I've had a hard week so I think I can have a little extra treat.

p.s. thanks for rubbing it in andy.

Work is burning me out today. Had to be in at 5:45am so I was supposed to get up at 4:15am but snoozed until 4:45 then ran arond the house trying to get ready fast. I just have to say one of my biggest pet peeves is when people stress out at work over NOTHING and then get mad at YOU when you don't freak out and just take care of the problem. I leave work at work and I don't like to create problems or drama with my job but i work with people who like to look for problems. I want to say, don't sweat the small stuff. Who gives a crap if a table is in the wrong spot or if the bathroom is not immaculate. there is no reason to get worked up about it, just let it go, and don't get mad at me for not stressing out. <end rant> I'm so glad tomorrow is friday.

I have to say weddings are my least favorites, I seem to always get the bridezillas! oh actually I don't like the entire month of december either...back to back to back holiday parties! hopefully I will be done with this by december.

Hi gymgirl,

I've been reading your posts and noticed that you were interested in knowing who the new bachelor was. I was reading up on who got booted off American Idol last night (not that I'm watching it but I was interested in knowing whether Sanjay was voted off. I got a glimpse of his hair the other night on ET and I'm not sure what he was thinking). Anyway, there was a link for the new bachelor. Here is the link:

'Bachelor' is an officer and a gentleman - ASK THE REALITY TV EXPERTS - MSNBC.com

I also wanted to mention that I have been doing some research on 'crossfit' and now understand where some of the terms come from 'Michael', 'Tabetha'. I had no idea what you fitness pros were talking about! lol. I have to say, the crossfit looks like a great exercise program but I don't know if I am ready for this type of training. I think if there was a trainer or gym in my area with trainers who were trained in crossfit then I would be more than likely to try it out but it seems like you need a really good, athletic background to start crossfit. I tried looking at some of the programs for beginners but I couldn't find them. I am going to stick with HITT for now - I'm new to this but it's challenging me for now. I will also start to jog/run outside now that the nice weather is arriving.

Hey Joanne! glad to see you stopping bye! Thank you so much for the link to the new bachelor! he's kinda cute! They always grown on me as the season progresses. If they seem kind i find them more attractive. Can't wait for the new season to start. One of my college friends/roomate for a couple of years was on the bachelor. It was the season with Bob. I wasn't into that show then and we had drifted apart as she was in LA at the time. funny stuff though seeing her on the website and in some pictures i saw of hers from the reuinion show.

I freckin LOVE american idol and idon't know who got voted off last night. I wake up so early I have to DVR everything and watch on the weekends. I get annoyed when i open up MSN or MSNBC or even CNN now and accidently see who was voted off dancing withthe stars or idol. I can't even watch my 'evening news' (that's E! news...haha I always tell the b/f shhhhh it's timefor the news hahaha, then he laughes at me when i put it on the E! channel for the celeb gossip news, seriously though there is so much crap going on inthe world we deserve a distraction every now and then!) OMG what was up with Sanjaya's hair? he needs to go now, buh-bye. that faux hawk was nuts...and he's out there representing seattle.

anyway, so onto theworkout talk! that is awesome that you did some research on crossfit! it must be werid reading people's journals when they keep refering to "Michael" or "Linda" or "Cindy". haha. Honestly, Joanne, anybody can do crossfit. Any workout can be scaled down, and there are some amazing videos on the website that can show you how to do things with proper form. CrossFit Exercises Also if you decide to try it and have any questions at all, don't hesitate to ask me or any of the others on here.

Here is the website that scales the WOD (workout of the day) for all sorts of fitness levels: Discuss CrossFit, Krav Maga, Kenpo and Kickboxing with trainers and students - forum.brandxmartialarts.com :: View Forum - CrossFit WOD

Here is an example of how they scaled "michael" from the other day:

Big Dawgs:
As Rx'd
Try this with an AbMat or GHD sit ups fo rextra fun

Pack:

Three rounds for time of:
Run 800 meters
35 Back Extensions
35 Sit-ups

Run 600 meters
15 Back Extensions
25 Sit-ups

Buttercups:

Three rounds for time of:

20 Sit-ups

You can start at whatever level you feel comfortable at, and the nice part is you don't even have to think about it.someone breaks it down for you! Anyway let me know if you decide to try it, i really think you would enjoy it and you don't ever get bored as every day is different! Also, very cool to hear you are doing the HIIT! : I hope you are enjoying it.

wow I am fried. bench was really tough but the weighted pull-ups were even harder. Had to go to bodyweight only after the first 2 sets. I was completly spent from the filthy fifties. I'm gald tomorrow is a rest day!

hmm... I must have missed reading your journal yesterday.. weird!

Anyway I too want to congratulate you on passing up the cake. I hate things like that too... one day last week a guy i work with offered me some of his chocolate easter egg (yes he's starting early lol) and i said no thans. But he wouldn't leave me alone! He kept pusing it, and in the end he actually PUT some on my desk and said 'oh you'll eat it now' WTF? Why is what i eat or dont eat of such interest to people? For the record i did NOT eat it. I choose my cheats/treats, i will not let somebody else choose them for me.

Great job on the fifties! Its been a while since i did that one... 50 burpees ugh!

I've never seen that bachelor show, and when i click the link it shows his pic as a red x, so I cant tell if he is a 'hottie' or a 'nottie' ...
