lol the bent over row is supposed to be the generic, look at me i'm working out but not doing anything too taxing shot.
I spent 2 hours this evening looking though old VHS tapes trying to find the 1992 olympic trials tape i KNOW i have. I can't seem to find it anywhere but i found 37 VHS tapes containing every single episode of Dawsons Creek. lol
Anyway I've been nostolgic lately thinking about gymnastics. Kim Zmeskal was my idol. I remember sitting watching and taping every single gymnastics competition on TV. I had her posters all over my room and I would do her floor routine (minus the tumbling passes) along with her in my living room while she was on my TV. I even got the same floor music as her and almost learned her middle tumbling pass (she was known for her 3 whips to double back and I would do 2 whips to full twist. Anyway, after searching today and coming up empty handed i found the video, plus many more on youtube! geez i should have thought of that sooner... anyway i can't believe this was almost 15 years ago. sheesh and i still remember her floor routine perfectly.
YouTube - Kim Zmeskal 1992 U.S. Olympic Trials FX
I also found an old national championships tape and was watching shannon miller, dominique dawes and kerri strug. It's amazing when watching their routines all the feelings came back to me...they'd do their backhandspring series on beam and i found myself feeling like i was doing them myself. it's hard to explain but i could feel what they were doing. like my body remembered after all those years what it is supposed to do, eventhough i was doing nothing. I'd pop my hips tighten my core and fling my legs over quickly (i wasn't actually doing this, but my body knew this is what it would do if i was doing it...haha that probably makes no sense to anyone else!) man i miss competing sometimes.

Looks like you had another great day at CFN!
Great Pic's-I personal like the 2nd pullup pic because it really shows off your lats.
And you're still competing. It's just against yourself, making you better!

I think a close grip chinup pic would look better, perhaps taken from the side.
Oh, and pull your hair back during the rows. I want an unobstructed view

Hey gymgirl,
The pics look great. You could go toe to toe with any of the physiques that I see on the TV programs.
I also have never touched a KB. I tried some of the moves with a DB, and was rewarded with a back injury. Not the movement's fault, the fault rests solely on my shoulders. Still, I'm gun shy with those explsove movements and I with weights in general. May be I'll find my way back to the "weight pile" one day.
Best in training,
Will

LOL Arbit, you are funny. BTW are you finally convinced that I don't want to look like nicole richie?
Hi, William! yeah those KB's didn't agree with my shoulders either. I really need to get back into my PT for some active release/trigger point stuff. that seems to be the only thing that works for me. surprisingly it's the bodyweight stuff that got my shoulders acting up (pull-ups/push-ups).
I'm scared for Angie today. I think I'll take JDR's approach and divide up pull-ups and push-ups as last time my brachiallis was sore for like 2 weeks after the 100 pull-ups.

I told Pierre Auger tonight that you recognized him from crossfit posts in the video. He kinda blushed and said that Dave at CNF where you are is one of the best CF trainers and he was the one that got the Canadian military onto CF workouts. Apparently he is in phenomenal condition.
You are in good hands!

awww. thanks Ty, and The Flash!
Brat, that's funny you told Pierre I recognized him...lol hopefully he dosen't think I'm some weirdo. I sit at a desk all day and end up watching all the videos and reading everyones comments.
Dave is awesome, but I had no idea he's the one who got the canadian military into CF. He is the first affiliate and told me that he and a friend had been working out for years and stumbled upon some website with very little info and a couple of workouts, turns out was crossfit. He started doing the workouts and quickly realised how different the training was and emailed greg glassman asking him what he thought of him (dave) training clients that way. anyway i guess that is how the affiliates were born. oh and yeah he is in great shape, and is a very knowledgeable man. I'm glad I ended up in his hands!
lol I'm still laughing at how you told pierre, did you tell him your friend from the internet, recognized him from the internet? hahaha.

cardio:
3 mile run on treadmill
800m at 6.5
400m at 7.8, 400m at 6.5
400m at 7.0, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.0, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.1, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.2, 400m at 6.5
stretching, foam rolling and PT shoulder exercises: IT band is very tight, which is werid as i have not run since last monday. my glute is feeling better, but damn that IT band. I'm starting to wonder if this will ever go away. Lots of shoulder PT and warm-up because i knew i had a lot of pull-ups ahead of me
workout:
"Angie"
For time:
100 Pull-ups (kipping, 12, then sets of 4 or 5)
100 Push-ups (1x10 then sets of 5)
100 Sit-ups (50, then 5x10)
100 Squats (10x10)
time: 16:26
last time 1/29/07: 21:31
pull-ups done at (6:50) last time they took 10:30 or so, push-ups: 11:40, sit-ups: 13:40, squats: 16:26.
switched my pull-up grip from parallel to regular (still a bit funky since my gym dosen't have a straight bar) and that seemed to help my pull-ups as well as alleviate most of my sub scap pain. I also worked very hard at fixing my horrible push-ups form. broke the sets down more focusing on keeping my back straight and not having an anterior pelvic tilt. I was totally dreading this one, but wasn't as bad as last time....just had to tell myself 3-2-1-go!
