too funny pierini. Believe it or not I have had that offer from an overweight/corporate america type man. no thanks. i'd rather work then be someones trophy/housewife.

Thanks for your words of wisdom, I really do hope I find my calling soon. self employment sounds very appealing, that's been in the back of my mind since I was in junior high.

2 years ago I was one of those junior executive wannabes, worked my butt of and wanted so badly to be one of those corporate power women. I worked 7am-5pm with no breaks, went to the gym then either went back to work or worked from home until 11pm sometimes. I worked my butt off to prove myself, (to god knows who) took on tons of extra responsibility and of corse was not compensated financially for it. I was burnt out and jaded by the time I turned 25. I worked so hard for what? To get 'laid off'?(more like pushed out because I expressed strong opinions and asked to be compensated for my additional responsibilities) When I lost my job I told my director "thanks for the valuable lesson. In my 5 years here I learned that it dosen't pay to be part of the team, or to work hard or to step up, I said it gets you here...right where I am, jobless. Thanks for the lesson, it's one i will never forget." Then I left, he was speachless. I promised myself then and there I was never going to let my job define me, and I was no longer going to put in extra effort/hours etc. I was going to leave work at work and enjoy my time outside of the office.

I've got more to say, but it will have to wait until tomrorrow as I am exhaused.

Today was supposed to be trainer day, but as I said earlier I got a call from the front desk guy saying my trainer would not be training me today. Very werid since he text messaged me this morning asking what the CF WOD was, then telling me that there is a CF Cert in Portland! WHOOO. then after my dentist appt. i stopped by the gym to pee and he was there in their trainer meeting. Anyway front desk guy wouldn't tell me anything, but said I was still scheduled for next week. Then I found out my trainer is no longer working there. i kinda knew things were going on, which is part of the reason I started goign to CFN, but this came as a complete shock. I'm really bummed, he's gotten me into the best shape of my life, he's taught me so much and has gotten me to not be so hard on myself. I don't konw what the heck I am going to do now. I didn't feel like working out but went anyway.

cardio:

2 mile run
800m warm-up
400m at 7.8, 400m at 6.5
400m at 7.9, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.0, 400m at 6.5

warm-up:
foam rolling, stretching

Workout:
deadlift WU: 45x10, 95x5, 135x5

4x8 circuit at 75-80% of max:

Deadlift: 145x8, 145x8, 145x8, 145x8
Bent Over Row: 65x8, 70x8, 75x5, 75x8
shins on ball push-ups: 8, 8, 8, 8

Too busy today to track my food, I might do it tomorrow at work. Ate pretty much as usual today. Tomorrow is CFN day. I ususaly go Saturday but I am getting my hair did. lol on sat, so going tomorrow.

night night.

CFN day! Normally Friday is a rest day for me but I am taking tomorrow off toget my hair done so I went in for training today at CFN.

air squats
kettle bell swings: 2 hands, 1x10, right, 1x10, left 1x10

shoulder press practice: 45x10 (form approved)
push press: 45x8 (form approved), 65x5

dips practice: learned to use active shoulders, JDR you should try this on pull-ups and dips really aliviated my shoulder pain.

pull-up practice: 1x10
kipping pull-ups 2x10 (ripped)
kipping pull-ups chest to bar: 1x5 (that was fun! never kipped like that before, almost made a bar muscle up)

hanging leg raises practice: 1x10 apperently i don't swing enough! i thought swinging was cheating, but apperently CF coach wants a little back arch before you go into leg raises! whoo that makes it so much easier!

sit-up practice: 1x10

single arm DB snatch: 20# 1x5 right, 1x5 left side

well now I am all set for CF class. I'm kinda intimidated. I like personal training better, i'm embarresed around all these people. I might go next saturday...we shall see.

after training went to dinner with my boss. we had a couple of glasses of wine and i had this great grilled coho salmon with mashed potatoesa nd asparagus. i am full and very sleepy. i need to adjust my fitday, as i put in all the food i had planned to eat until my plans changed.

it was 80 degrees here today and beautiful! finally feels like summer!

tomorrow is a rest day, get my hair done then meet up with my parents who are starting to slowly move stuff into their new condo.

Looks like another fun day of training!

Two things I need to do is to check into the trigger point and I will go back
and check the active shoulder video. Thanks again for the tips.

And as for being intimidated, the other people will be the ones intimidated
after your first workout!

And most important - hope the hair do goes well!!!

So now you are ready? I would have thought you were ready long ago. Intimidating all the CFers.

And yeah, good luck on the hair.

My wife cuts my hair, is it cheap? Lets see...
1 Ford Explorer.
Gas for it.
3 bedroom house.
1 Volvo
Gas for it.
Food for a hungry woman.
Cook that food.
Wash the dishes.
Wash her clothes.
Give her what's left of my paycheck.
....Nope, men's haircuts aren't cheap.

Good one Andy.

Put a bowl over your head, get a pair of scissors, stand in front of the mirror and give yourself a Moe (3 Stooges) haircut. I pay $14 and give the barber a $6 tip to make it an even $20.

I drive 30-45min to my salon, get my hair 'relaxed' (straightened) then get foils (highlights) then get the middles done because oh yes i have grey's coming in and have sincei was 25. Then i get deep conditioner, then hair cut and layerd then blowdried and flat ironed out. total time about 4 hours. good thing this is only every 3-4 months. actually pretty cheap for all i get done it is about $200.

welch, i know i wish i could have just gone in and started CF classes but since I was training on my own they want to approve your form so that they don't have to slow down class if you are doing something wrong. i guess that makes sense. I got lucky though and really only had to do 2 CF trainings, the first one wasmore of an evaluation/workout. and the coach there said he spends usualy a full session on active shoulders, which he only took 5 min on with me. now we shall see how i hold up with the 'professional' CF'ers!

ok now i gotta drive 45 min tothe salon...have a nice day everyone!

that sucks about your trainer! oh no. What will happen now, will you still be able to train with him, but at a different location?

200 to get your hair done, that seems like a lot! I am so lazy about my hair, I havent been to the hairdresser in so long!

enjoy your rest day today!

Sorry to hear you lost your trainer. It seems so weird that he didn't mention anything to you. I agree with the others though. You are more than ready for crossfit as a replacement.

BTW - I thought I was paying the most of anyone for hair care but you have me beat on that one!

Yeah I'm pretty bummed about my trainer, but I've kinda known this was comming for a few months now. The gym is very strict on punctuality and he's had some trouble with that. He'd given me the heads up and I knew it was just a matter of time before this happened. He was actually let go a few weeks ago, but they called him back a day later...I was kinda hoping this would happen again, but they are serious this time. My trainer did tell me but I had to play like i didn't know when the gym called me. I got another call yesterday from the atletic director who is going to train me now, I think I have 8 session left, and I highly doubt I'll be re-signing. I'll take that money and spend it on my CF membership and hit up the Saturday morning class. If CF was open when I train 3-4pm I'd just go there. The only thing that bothers me is you can't go in and just do the WOD, you have to go to 'class' at a specific time and do the WOD they come-up with. If I ever open a gym it's going to let people come in whenever they want and do whatever CF WOD they want to do. Oh also I went to CF from work on friday and it took a full hour, and I left work at 3pm imagine what it would be like during actual rush hour? CF trainer said the same thing that the traffic around that is a real pain in the butt. Saturday mornings will be nice since class is at 8am and no traffic i can get there in 15 min.

I'm definitely going ot miss personal training though. I don't really pay for PT for motivation or accountablilty, but i love to learn new things, and I've learned a lot from regular trainer and CF coach.

p.s. wow I can't belive everyone things $200 is expensive! the $200 is with a $50 tip included, so actual price is $150. Most of my friends who just get their hair highlighted and cut pay $150. When i tell them how much I get done and pay the same as them they are very surprised. I don't know if haircare is more expensive in seattle or if they just go to extreamly expensive salons. lol.

anyway things have been so busy lately, I was gone all day yesterday, hair appt, oil change, helping my parents move into their new condo, dinner...left at 8am came home at 9:30pm. Didn't log food, but will today.

it's so nice and sunny I want to get outside but I also want to spend a day at home since ive been running around all weekend.

Happy Easter. I wonder if the grocery stores are closed...
