lol I guess it's all relative. $200 for a pair of jeans or for all that i get done to my hair is not expensive in my eyes, but $200 for say a handbag, now that is too expensive. lol

AMRAP in 12 hours of:

watch TV
eat
laundry

about 5 rounds. had to run to the store about 1/2 way through which took up some time. probably could have gotten in an extra round.

Finally got a day at home! started catching up on my TV watching at 9am. Watched last weeks episodes of Real World, Road Rules, The Hills, ANTM, Dancing With the Stars, American Idol, The Bachelor, Workout, & a few re-runs of Runs House on MTV. I'm still not caught up. I am two weeks behind on Lost, a week behind on The Apprentice, still need to watch The Office and 30 Rock.

Joanne, Minime, that new bachelor is hot. He's a humanitarian, doctor and a triathalete. He's totaly into working out and has a hot bod. The girls are so dumb on that show. Every season I am reminded of why I don't have many girlfriends, these bitches are caddy/catty (which one is it?) i cringe with embarrassment for these girls, when they try so hard to impress him. I was so uncomfortable I almost hadto fast forward...almost.

I just caught up on the last couple pages...

Sucks about your trainer. Do you have a contact # for him? Ah well... just another reason to work on the home gym. If you don't have a space for it at home, consider sandbags and dumbells at a public park with a playground (pullups off the swingset).

It's "catty" - like a cat. Visualize a bunch of cats in a sack, and you get the idea - not that there is any similarity to the behavior of a bunch of women in close quarters, or anything...

Gymgirl, I've just discovered that you are what us guys refer to as "high maintenance". Nothing wrong with that, but it is a revelation for me.

I hope you take that back pierini. I am high maintanace in regards to my food/workouts. And yes I get my hair done every 3-4 months, but trust me I am not high maintanance. I don't like shopping or going the spa, I've never had a facial and only got a manacure once because my mom wanted to do this mother daugther thing. I don't like wearing make-up and when I am not at work you find me in sweats and a t-shirt or tank top! My only girlie thing is i like nice jeans (but that is mostly because my butt is getting big from lifting and the more expensive ones are more flattering and have stretch in them) oh and I don't even care for shoes much. I'm surprised they haven't taken my uterus for that.

seriously, i grew up as a tomboy and couldn't stand the 'high maintance' girls. I only started dressing more 'corporate' because, well I learned that sadly we are judged by how we look. If you look put together in the office, chances are people will think you are. It's amazing, I started dressing the part at my last job, and there came the responsibilites and the new job titles...and most of all respect.

Thank you Pierini! calling me high maintances is almost as offensive as calling me a sorority girl!

Oh my gosh gymgirl. I can't believe how many shows you are trying to catch up on. lol. I use to try and watch all of my shows but over the years, I was getting stressed out just trying to keep up! I finally decided on a few good shows but I know what you feel like when you have a day of rest at home and the t.v. is yours. I also watching Dancing with the Stars. I love that show. I would love to dance like that.

I agree about the bachelor. I usually prefer dark features (the European look) but he's cute and really nice. He's got a great personality and a nice body. I'm very impressed with his career and the humanitarian work that he is involved in. He would be a great catch. He seems like a really nice guy overall and I feel bad for him because I'm not impressed with the women on the show. I can't believe how some of them were behaving on the first eposide. I'm a little more respectful when it comes to that sort of thing so I could never do what some of those women were doing just to get his attention. I guess it works because he picked some of them! lol. I figure if he likes you, then he will notice you and come after you. I haven't noticed a woman that I like yet but I'm sure as the show goes on, someone may stick out.

I think Arbit is going to have a heart attack. Quote '$200 for a pair of jeans ' lol. I personally have never spent that much on my hair but it is the average for what some women will pay. I go to the career hairstyling school where students are studying to become hairstylists and I usually get the ones who are close to graduating. I have never paid over $30-40 for a cut, wash, and colour and once in a while, highlights. If I do, it's usually because I might buy some salon products and they are typically cheaper there than they would be in regular stores. I like my cuts and colour and only had a problem once. The girl put blond highlights in my hair instead of going a shade 'lighter' in the red colour. Oops! It was a misunderstanding. I would spend that much money on a spa treatment for a day and I have but each to their own. I figure most people spend that much money on alcohol and cigarettes!

I'm sorry too gymgirl that you lost your trainer. I know what that feels like. I had a really good trainer but I left the gym for personal reasons and it was hard. It's really difficult finding someone that you can connect with and have a good working relationship when training with that person. Good luck with CF and maybe you will find someone else to train you along the way or perhaps you may find that CF is your calling at this time in your life.

Have a good day.

Too bad you lost your trainer! It is definitely hard to find one you cna click with!

I don't think $200.00 is expensive, especially with all you get done! Now I wouldn't spend that on my hair lol, but my mom is a hairdresser , and it's amazing how expensive it can be!

LOL, yes I watch way too much TV! And get this, a lot of my favorites are on hiatus, One Tree Hill, (the Hills, now over, Maui Fever, over) Heroes, The Real World Road Rules Challenge (comes back this week whoo!) I still have about 20 episodes of Everyday Italian on my DVR that I haven't gotten do. Sheesh I need a seperate DVR for all the Food Netowrk shows I love! I know the feeling about getting stressed out when needing to catch up on TV! lol I felt like that yesterday "OMG the DVR is at 96% full I better get watching before it starts deleteing stuff!"

ugh these girls were awful. I too didn't like a single one. If I had to pick I would say the only tolerable ones were the girl who did the backhandspring, and the girl named Peyton...oh and for a minute I thought we were watching One Tree Hill, girls named Peyton and Bevin? Seriously those are uncommon names...

I could never do anything like that and I agree with your comment JoAnne that if a guy likes you he will notice you. You don't have to do anything outlandish, just present yourself well. These girls are a horrible example of females, I'm actually ashamed. I really liked Sadie from last season and that other girl who was one of the final two with Dr. Travis Stork, but lost (he was a good catch too).
This bachelor is definitely a good catch, he does seem like a great, kind and thoughftul person, and he really gives back to the community.

That's awesome that you get your hair done at the career styling school! I would totally do that if I didn't have wierd hair. My hair is naturally super curley and coarse (tight ringlets, kinda like nicole kidman back in teh day) and I only trust this guy using the chemicals he has to to get my hair straight and to do highlights at the same time!

Thanks for the comment about my trainer joanne. I forgot that you lost yours too, but now i remember the situation. So you can relate, it is tough to build that trust with someone, and it is very rare to find a good trainer, who listens and can motivate you.

Anyway, I hope you are doing well JoAnne. I'm glad you stopped by, keep us posted on your training!

Tim, sorry I thought I repsonded earlier. Yeah I have contact info for my trainer, we usually talk every couple of days anyhow, and we had a long convo on Saturday. I could train in his garage gym, but I'm not sure that is what I want to do. I think I'll put that money towards a CF membership. I'd love to build the home gym, but still in a dang apartment, but I think I'll be making a sandbag and taking it to the park this summer!

Catty, thanks Tim. LOL yes no similarity whatsoever...

Hey Amanda!

Sorry I must have been posting while you posted. It is definitely hard to find one you click with, that is for sure. Your mother must be patient, being a hairdresser sounds like one of the tougher jobs out there.

'I'm more shy when it comes to that sort of thing so I could never do what some of those women were doing just to get his attention.' I want to change that word 'shy' to 'respectful'. Yes, I can be shy but I can and have approached men but I am respectful and mature in my approach. I agree with you too gymgirl. Those girls on the show do not represent what intelligent and mature women are like. I had to laugh at the Bachelor's comment when he made reference to how impressed he was with how intelligent they were. They certainly didn't express this that night! lol.

I haven't posted in a while because I have been extremely busy and stressed out with teaching (I can relate to your work situation) and completing my course plus I tutor and will be doing home schooling soon. I think I took on more than I really want to do right now. I'm secretly hoping that I might not have to do the home schooling since the parents have not returned any of my 5 phone calls!

I jot down things for myself (exercise & food intake on fitday.com) but I haven't been on DF consistently. Eventually I may but for now, I spend too much time on the computer for my on-line course and by the end of the night, I am sick of sitting in front of a computer.

I was just asked by one of the trainers at the gym to join her and another girl in the Body Pump and Step classes at my gym (2x/week) so I will probably join them if I can re-schedule my tutoring sessions. Otherwise, my training sessions are going okay. Nothing fabulous. When I have too many things going on in my life, I notice that I don't put 100-120% into my workouts compared to when my life is a little more balanced. I'm almost finished my course and I have decided to take a break from a few things. I want to dedicate more time for me and going to the gym and hopefully jogging outside once the weather warms up and the sun comes out.

I read in a few of your postings that the weather is warm and sunny in Seattle! It snowed lightly here yesterday and it's dull and cold today. Welcome to Canada! lol. :

Gymgirl without the tip, your hair care is the same cost as mine and you even get more done. (I don't tip anymore after 25 years with the same stylist we are like family)

I'm proud of you for that. It is so professional and that IS the way we are supposed to be! That is the way it's done. It's not rocket science and you don't have to sleep with anyone either if you do it correctly. :

Hey Joanne! the step/cardio class with your gym friends sounds like fun. It's always nice to have friends there working hard with you! I'm very impressed with all that you do, and good for you for continuing to jot down your food and exercise even when busy!

Brat, thank you. Yep, no sleeping with anyone for me. To each their own but I couldn't hold my head up high knowing I did something like that.

Monday, April 9, 2007

cardio:

3 mile run
800m warm-up at 6.5
400m at 7.8, 400m at 6.5

400m at 8.0, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.1, 400m at 6.5
400m at 8.2, 400m at 6.5

cooldown: streched and foam rolled legs and IT band

warm-up:

CFWUx2 (-dips, pull-ups, subbed hanging leg raises for sit-ups)
Burgener Warm-up x2
Heaving snatch balance w/ dowel

back squat: 45x10, 65x5
handstand warm-up

workout:

15,12, and 9 rep rounds of:
Back squat
Handstand push-up

Post loads to comments.

105x15, 105x12, 110x9
