Hunt for a new begining.

OK i am finally gonna try this journal to help keep track of my summer fitness and weight loss plan. here is some background. I am 16 years old, and there is a obese gene in my moms side of the family and i have been stuck with this gene. I am tired of joking about my size to hide the reality and i am going on a healthy summer plan. I am planning to lose weight by going to the track at a near by school and do a routine that includes cardio and or workouts. I cannot get to a gym due to lack of funds. I weigh about 204 right now. For about 3 weeks now i have been going to the track at least every sunday to run a mile but it was only until recently that i go on a daily basis. tomorow 6/6/04 i will start this food/exercize/weekly weight update journal. I really hope some of you will read my journal and give ,me advice and encourgment. I really enjoy readin other journals to get tips also. I am also open for things that i am doing wrong or what i should be doing a certain way.

if parts of this sounds awkward it because its 1 in the morning and i am typing this .

I thank all of the help you will bring and i will undate this ( now today) evening.

Thanks
-mfer

I am on a LOW-carb diet, not cutting out all carbs but cutting out unhealthy carbs.

Breakfast- none (woke up at 11:30am)
Lunch- mushroom soup with diet soda
dinner- mushroom jack fajitas with no tortillas and diet coke
dessert- some choclote brownie dessert

I felt a little guilty about the dessert but i ate well the rest of the day

Exercize- didnt do as much as i usually do. I rode about 2 miles to the school where i go. I did my warm ups. Then my usual 3 laps.1st- jog whole lap,
2nd- speed walk, 3rd- run straights speed walk curves. then i did my sets of bleacher ( one stair at a time speedy, skip on step, hop each step) do two sets of those each then ran 2 full bleachers). did two sets of 50 jumps on the jump rope. did a cool down lap where i walked a lap. the did the ride back to my house.

i think i did ok today could have done better though.

running is nice, but weightlifting will turn you from a fat kid, into a strong muscular kid. Then the cardio and right diet will turn you into a ripped kid that all the chicks want! Got to start lifting man, doesn't your school have a summer workout program?

Bump for what i said. If worst comes to worst, save up 200 - 300 dollars. This isn't that difficult. Do work for whoever you can, get a job for a few weeks if necesary. Buy a squat rack and bench + 200-300 pounds of weights. It won't be very expensive if you do it right.

Your meals don't look good. You must plan them better. Eating 5 or 6 small meals during the day with the right combinations of protein, carb and healthy fats is the way to go. Take a look at other journals or search this site for more information about a healthy meal plan.
Good luck!
