ihaveadogs journal

I guess i can start one too lol, well heres some of my pics as of right now.

Ive been doing that exercise routine, upper body 3x a week and lower body 2x a week and its working really great for me, i can see my triceps getting thicker and bicep peak getting higher :], My chest has seemed to come to a stop, but my legs are growing amazingly fast and i love it :]

Ive been eating whenever im hungry which is about 6 7 times a day, good food, such as tuna, mac and cheese, chicken/rice, steak, PBnJ, Good breakfast every morning and i try to get 2 protein shakes in a day with a protein bar. And everything seems to be going well :]

Glad you started a journal here! You will definitely get some good advice once you start posting up your daily workouts!

Awesome to hear you're making good progress. I can see why your triceps are responding, they're getting a lot of work based on what you've written. But I don't see any back or shoulder work in the list. Do you do anything for those areas?

Shoulders= i figure nahh, because they are such a weak muscle and very easy to build, there more of a muscle like the forearms and the calves.. Doing bench press pretty much hits them well, since you use alot of shoulder sin bench press due to the movement.

Back- My back is actually gifted (or so i think) it has ususally been pretty toned/big, and its been growing even though i have not been targeting it, its been about 7 months since i actually worked my back out. But i think all the other stuff, such as bench press, Squats pretty much give the back a good exercise cause i feel it in my lats when i do bench too.

Ignoring muscles is setting yourself up for failure and injury. I'd highly suggest creating a more balanced workout.

That's kinda what I was thinking. For example, Bench press does work the shoulders, but pretty much just the front head. Gotta hit the middle and rear heads of the delts too.

Bench press hits front and side, and my back just grows with me.

Your arrogance will catch up with you some day. Your back does not 'just grow'.

If you don't work all body parts ("gifted" or not) you will become imbalanced. This imbalance will lead to injuries later. Trust me your body will not have the same resilence in 10 years.

I work my back out once in a while, whenever I want usually. Maybe once every 3 months. But i do alot of deadlifts.. maybe that counts as a back exercise?

Yeah, I know the entire shoulder girdle gets worked to an extent doing presses.

Obviously only you know how your body is reponding to your routine. If your entire body is responding well, that's great. I've just seen way to many dudes at the gym with disproportionate bodies (i.e. huge upper body and stick legs) due to unbalanced training, and the funniest part is they aren't even aware of it.

A back workout once every 3 months is awful. You WILL develop weakness in your back and you WILL get injured due to muscular imbalance. My boss used to workout with me, much like you do. All arms, chest, and occaisonally back. Nothing for his core and nothing for legs. One day he was leaning over to put a 30 lb. DB back in the rack and he ended up on his back for 3 days.

It will be hard to take this journal seriously until you start to think about what many are telling you.

BTW, you can't see strength imblanaces that cause injury.
