Hi disturbed, I've been posting for a few months. Trying to be more regular about it though.

I train in Gosoku-ryu karate.

Warmed up with stretches and sit ups

Squats 1x5-135 1x5-185 1x5-205 1x5-225 1x10-135

Benh Press 1x6-135 1x6-155 1x4-185 1x3-185 1x10-135

Plyo. Push Ups 12, 4, 6

I had one of the trainers at the gym check my form on the 225lbs squats. His comments were that I tended to go up on my toes momentarily on my way up; other than that my back stayed straight and my depth was good, according to him.

nice, karate sounds fun. I basically just do gym and boxin but would love to learn locks and defensive moves.

Did a karate workout this evening.

Hi Disturbed- Boxing is great! Locks and defensive movements vary from style to style in martial arts; the system I train in doesn't really do a whole lot of locks though.

The squats don't sound too bad then. Going on the toes isn't a good sign. It can put too much on the knees and the shift could get to your back. It's fixable - just sit back, sink into your heels and then drive the heels through the floor. I sometimes raise my toes to keep my weight in the back of the foot.

Warmed up with stretches and situps

Dead lifts 1x6-135 1x6-155 1x5-185 1x4-205

Pull ups 10, 7, 3

Karate workout later

TomG- I didn't even realize I was going on my toes. The trainer said that it was for a quick second after I had gotten past parallel; perhaps a quick cheat I used to get a little more explosion.
