Hey JDR! Glad to see you back. Today while running I was thinking about how I miss seeing you and no-frills post everyday. But I know how it goes, gotta deal with 'real life', jobs, family, coaching your son's baseball team take priority, but I just wanted you two to know you are missed.

Anyway, super cool about coaching your 13 year old's baseball team. I freckin LOVE baseball and used to play (cough softball cough) back when I was in junior high/high school. That is fantastic that your oldest son is on Varsity! what year is he and what position do they play?

Great job on your workout today too! 450 reps is a lot and you even did SDHP's and thrusters! I think that's a smart move doing lighter weights and building back up. I don't know if you've thought about getting some trigger point stuff done. The 3-4 weeks I was getting that my shoulders felt great. Now that I haven't been in a few weeks, pain is starting to come back..it's usualy covered by health insurance too.

anyway, tell no-frills i said hi! enjoy the baseball!

Thanks Gymgirl, I miss it too.

My oldest is a junior and he pitches, catches and plays third.
My youngster catches, plays first and third, and is also pitching this year.
They are both very good hitters!

No need to cough on the softball, No-frills played all through high school.
And we met playing co-ed softball!

No-frill say hi and said she needs to get her butt back on track. I will give her some slack, her job is demanding and forgets she needs take care of herself.
She is working right now(10:05 pm). I'm kicking here off now.

I'm glad you posted that, as I was going to yesterday but forgot. That is my favorite video yet. "it's ok to be a pussy." hahaha and 3...2...1...go! I wish I had speakers at work because I want to watch it again right now.

p.s. so cute that you and no-frills met playing co-ed softball! Dang and you got a couple of catchers there! I like catchers, especially javy lopez (did the rockies release him?)

p.s.s. good for you for kicking her off the computer at 10pm nobody should work past 5pm, and nobody should every work at home. that's how it would be in gymgirls world.

3 mile brisk hike with the dog. (still rehabbing her knee but much better)

Biked to the gym

For time:
50 Box jump, 24 inch box
50 Jumping pull-ups
50 Kettlebell swings, 35 pounds
Walking Lunge, 50 steps
50 Knees to elbows
50 Push press, 45 pounds
50 Back extensions
50 Wall ball shots, 20 pound ball: sub 25 thrusters 40 lbs
50 Burpees: sub 50 knee pushups
50 Double unders: sub 200 singles

Time 56:50
Thought I was going to see God today!
First 4 exercises went will. Once again KTE brought me to knees Plan was to do sets of 5 but was more like sets of 3's and 2's. Pushed through the push presses and back extensions and then the wheels fell off big time.
Was light headed and seeing stars. It was the first time ever I thought I might pass out, tried to do wall balls but couldn't focus, had to take a break(probable 5 min.).
Switched to thrusters and heart rate immediately jumped way up again, stopped at 25 and had to take another break.
Plan was to sub for burps(because of shoulders)from the start with pushups but from the knees was all I had. And kept missing on the doubles so went to singles.
Heart rate hasn't been up that high for that long of a period in quite awhile and it definitely shows!

Not happy with my overall condition right now but did give it everything I had today and thats all I can ask of myself right now.

Hey JDR!

Good job on finishing the 50's. you know what, I too saw stars this time doing this workout and that never happens. Kinda wierd we both saw them on the same workout. I swear 50's are one of the toughest. I too ended up doing 2-3 KTE but was planning on doing sets of 5. You did good, and way to push through.

Great job big guy. We all know that star-seeing feeling. It's a very lonely feeling but it's during those toughest moments that we grow the most, only realizing it much later. The tough workouts keep us honest and remind us that we are only as good as our last workout.

Now eat, rest and recover. You are back in the saddle and good for you.

great job on pushing through JDR! The only time I've ever thought I might actually pass out was during a 3 mile timed treadmill run. Its a strange feeling because you think you SHOULD stop but then what if you arent really going to faint, but just think you are?!

Anyway good job, i will have to try the 50s soon, I need to see if I can actually DO knee to elbows : i dont think i can.

Thanks everyone, todays run was very pleasant compared to yesterday!

4/2

5k run

Time 27:44

Mile1 - 8:05
Mile2 - 8:39
Mile3 - 9:47

Today was a new route. Took the dog with me on some new bike trails.
First mile was up hill then down, 2nd was flat/little down hill, 3rd was slow climb uphill till the last quarter then it became a steep climb which got the legs burning.
Ended about a mile down the road from were I had parked, jogged half - walk the other.
Still terrible pace management.
Total distance 4.1 miles

When the weather gets nicer and I return from my vacation, we will go do a 5k together and I'll be your "rabbit". I guarantee you a great time and excellent pace management.

Then we gotta start thinking about Saturday morning hill sprints in the summer. Remember how much fun we had last year doing them?
