Welp its monday, which means starting a new split. I'll be doing a push/pull/legs split. 2 cycles per week. I'll be doing a more powerlifting type workout one cycle and a more bodybuilding type workout the next. Low reps higher sets on the PL WOs, and higher rep sets on the BB WOs, I figured I needed to up the frequency a bit, being outa the gym 3 days a week made me a little irritable, I cant wait to get back in there.

Had a great weekend, went to the sox game, played 36 holes of golf and some cards yesterday, bunch of my friends are back from school now so life is good. Now its time to get back in there and pump that LIGHT WEIGHT. My water intake has been horrible for almost a week now, today I'm gonna get plenty of water and flush my system, my body weight has fluctuated so much lately that I dont know where I stand, so I'll take in moderate carbs today, drink a gallon and a half of water and see what my body weight looks like tommorow.

May 10th, 2004

Flat Bench:

135 x 10
185 x 8
225 x 3
245 x 3
255 x 2
265 x 1.5

Couldnt get 265 for a double, I'll try it again next push day, I was damn close.

Incline Press DB

80 x 5
85 x 5
90 x 5
90 x 5
90 x 6.5 Real good set here, was totally burnt out on that 7th rep, db almost hit me in the face haha

Close Grip Bench:

135 x 10
195 x 6
135 x 11

Lateral Raises DB:

25 x 10
30 x 10
35 x 8

Decline Situp w/ DB to Lying Knee-ups? Superset:

45 x 12, 20
45 x 15, 20
45 x 25, 5! OUCH! Huge cramp up in my abs on this one, felt awesome really worked the abs great.

Cable Twists:

80 x 15
80 x 15
80 x 15

Overall very good workout today. Had to wait a long time for a flat bench to open up, but I got to watch Marty Joyce a former champion PL and 3 guys he's training tare it up before me. Some guy ripped 315 x 12! I couldnt believe my eyes, form was absolutely incredible it was baffling to me.

315 x 12 eh? Beginner huh? LMAO.

I dont think many people really realize just how heavy 315 lbs is. ANyway, ive only seen 1 person bench 315 with perfect form, and he got it for ONE. Granted, i dont go to the gym often, but I dont think 95% of people can bench that much weight to be honest. Its A LOT of weight, and it takes a LONG time to get there...

Keep goin Jgriff...your doin great...

Thanks firehawk for the support as always. Ya man, it was absolutely unreal, the guy deadlifts over 700 as well. I would say that 98% of the people in the gym cant bench 315, it is extremely heavy. Makes me wanna get nuts in there and pump that LIGHT WEIIIIIIGHT though. :

Haha thatd be amazing, I wouldnt mind doing that one bit. My first goal is to hit 315 x 1, then I can worry about 6. Pull day today, which means back and biceps, should be real good, I'm lookin' forward to it.

Dead Lift:

135 x 3
225 x 5
225 x 5
275 x 3
295 x 3
315 x 3
435 x 1! PR
405 x 3! PR

AWESOME sets here, hit 2 new PRs. I was going to hit 405 for a double which I was skeptical of to begin with, the first 2 went up real fast and I felt like I had one more so I cranked it, lockout took a little longer but I got it. This really makes me wonder what my max actually is and if I've been pushing myself enough. Form is coming along very good.

Iso-Lat Pull:

90 x 10
180 x 8
190 x 8

Seated Row:

180 x 10
220 x 10
250 x 8

BB Curl:

95 x 5
95 x 5
95 x 5
95 x 5
95 x 5

Pretty good workout here overall, its a beautiful day today so I didnt want to stay in there too long. Now its time to fire up the grill for some chicken and burgers, maybe smoke a cigar or too, life is good

Griff you make me very curious as to what I can pull for deadlift max. I can do 325 for 3x6. So, im very curious. But i wont try it as MAxing is not part of my routine. I wonder if I can get 435 for one as well.

Great job buddy. Dont let me catch ya...hehehheheheh im right on your tail too...

haha, I dont think so, put your money where your mouth is instead of makin excuses like "it's not part of my routine" If 325 is the most you can do for 6 then I doubt you're quite up to 435, but its possible, I really dont know how these things play out. All I know is 405 x 3 is absolutely insane, I wanted to pass out afterwards, I was seeing stars, I'm gonna blast 455 next time and see what happens.

Well, it really isnt part of my routine though. I dont do maxes. So, i have no idea what i could lift. I dont really like to attempt maxes because I dont want to risk injury and get sidelined, despite how good i think my form is. But, seriously, it is not part of my routine to max out. Im not tryin to make excuses lol, and it was no disrespect to you man.

I'm just messin around Fire, I know you arent makin excuses. But honestly you dont have to worry about injury while maxing out. In 3 years of maxing out I've never felt a twinge or a pain, I think its really exaggerated that you can get injured maxing out.

You are probably right. I dont think i can get 435 for 1 right now. I might be able to get 405 for 1, but dont know. Id rather get it for 6 though , and hopefully that day will come. I bet you will be getting 405 for 6 in 2 weeks if you even try to get 6 out of it
