Kaija's Journal - Using LIPO-6 (w/Ephedra)

I've been talking about LIPO-6 here. Octagon suggested I keep a journal which is good, because w/o you guys to report to....I probably won't accomplish anything. (@ least not at this stage in the game... )

Beginning (as of 3/11/2004)
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 186.7lbs
BF%: 34%

You should know that in December I was 188lbs, and had BF% of 39%...so this actually IS good.

I've been taking LIPO-6 for 9 days, and have lost 0.5" from my thighs and waist. I don't know what the effect has been on my weight, because I hadn't weighed myself since December.

I did not workout this morning, I will workout when I get home from work. I'll post that information when I'm done. Any suggestions for workouts (without weights, I have no access to a gym for the next 6 weeks or so) will be entertained.

It's 9:29am EST where I am.

3/12/2004

Breakfast
Slim Fast - Orange-Pineapple Shake
Pretzels to snack

WATER - I have been drinking three 64oz jugs of water a day lately.

Well, that's it for now.

AND...I have been passing up all of the McDonald's, Taco Bells, and Wendy's during this time period!

Also the 0.5" from the thighs and waist, I should say are for a combined total of 1" lost.

I'm hoping to lose 20" combined.

Okay.

I've managed to lose a full inch off of my thighs. But this is not without some effort. I'm sore as can be from the pushups, and am starting to see some clear results in my abs. I naturally have flat abs, but now I'm seeing some slight cut in them that was never present before.

Can't say that I notice any difference in my legs, even though the inch is gone. I have a LONG way to go with them. I've been doing a lot of walking.

My regimen goes a little something like this:

- JumpRope, 1000 rotations
- Crunches, 4 sets of 25
- Pushups, 4 sets of 10
- Hamstrings/Leg Extensions, 4 sets of 25

I'm also walking when I would be driving, and so on.

The interesting thing about my diet, is that I've been eating more often, but still managing to see the progress. I'm forcing myself to eat breakfast, even though I normally skip it, and it's an excellent pick me up.
(Breakfast is a Slimfast Shake)

I weighed myself again, and my weight hasn't changed interestingly enough. So hopefully it's the muscle finally balancing itself out.

Thanks atherjen!! I'm trying not to be too dependent on scale weight. I can't wait until I have gym access. For now I just have to be creative with my "prison workout" LOL....

Your stats are awesome, I only hope to be there one of these days. LOL
I would have been happy with your STARTING stats lol.

NOTEABLE "downsides" to LIPO-6.
/disclaimer: These statements are not "absolutes". This is my take on the supplement, it may affect you in a totally different way~~please no one get on the defensive about this...lol

1.) When you're hungry you are RAVENOUSLY hungry. Foaming at the mouth, HUNGRY.

2.) When you're not hungry, but it's your scheduled feeding time....eating food can actually make you nauseous. It's like FORCE feeding yourself.

3.) If I operated with The Passion of the Supplement...I'd probably eat two HUGE meals a day. I'm not sure what kind of negative/positive results that would yield.

4.) A degree of personal willpower is mandatory. You need to know when to eat, because either your appetite may not remind you or if you don't watch yourself, you'll sit down and eat for three.

5.) When you start taking the "regular" doses of 4 pills a day (2 and 2), you REALLY start to feel the jitters. This isn't your Xenadrine, cracked out, type of jitters, but you FEEL the ephedra. If you have been someone who doesn't like the extra rush that these types of supplements give you, stay away. This is not for the ephedra-shy.

6.) It might be hard to 'calm down'. The pills take effect almost immediately, and you feel like someone in one of those dancing eBay commercials.

POSITIVES
1.) It's been a wonderful appetite suppressant, in that...I could be in front of a fully catered spread with all of my favorite foods in the world, and if I'm not hungry, I don't HAVE to eat.

2.) I have seen some really positive results in a relatively short time. I started taking these on March 3rd, and have already lost an inch from my thighs and waist. The pill is doing what it's supposed to, and I'm happy.

3.) The results are realistic. I've lost inches, but not lost weight. I feel positive about this. I can see and feel changes in my muscles and body already. Maybe not my THIGHS yet...but that's a slow and eventual process.

I just had a slice of chocolate cake with icing. I don't know if I feel bad BECAUSE of the chocolate cake and chocolate icing?? Or do I feel bad because I HATE cake?? LOL And I just ate it because it was my manager's boss' birthday?

I can't believe I ate it. LOL I hate cake AND whipped ice cream. Oh well, off to Subway I go...this time I'm eating a roasted chicken sub.
(Would it be bad to eat a footlong?)

Well, I'm no shrink but I'm more than happy to play one on the net

If I had to guess I'd say you feel bad because your little indulgence was unplanned/unscheduled. Over the past nine-ish months I've basically followed pretty strict calorie guidelines but have allowed myself one or two free days every two weeks. They let me indulge at family gatherings, go boozing with my brother-in-law or even sit at home with rented movies, some vino and mexican delivery and they're guilt-free because they're ALWAYS scheduled in advance.

The calories from that piece of cake aren't what screws us up. It's the lack of discipline.

Eating a piece of cake can be totally harmless if it's the result of a deliberate, dispassionate decision-making process.

Eating the same piece of cake can totally depress and derail you if it's the result of giving in to momentary temptation.

Ok, my willpower has been good, but I'm really getting a bit anxious here. I know it's only been 2 weeks since I got serious about all of this, but I really want to see my legs go from flab to fab.

I've been lurking the boards a lot, and many of the convos are helpful...

I just want to lower this BF%!! Am I supposed to eat certain types of foods????
