Sorry Tim,
I'm in therapy mode most of the time. A.R.T is an active muscle massage technique to get rid of knots and scar tissue.

It must have done some good as I was able to shovel show this morning without too much cramping in my leg and my range of motion is so much better on the weak hip flexor.

Thanks for the update. You'll be back on the fitness saddle 100% before long.

Half “thrusting” Barbara :

5 rounds –> sub 3rds
20 Pull-ups –> sub 10 strict
30 Push-ups –> sub 15
40 Sit-ups –> sub 20 modified Janda SU
50 Squats –> sub 25 squat thrusts (1/2 a burpee)
rest 3 min between rounds –> sub 1:30 rest

Was harder than I thought it would be. I forgot to rest in between rounds. Was not done for time.

Gee I haven't been around here for a while.

Still far from 100%, maybe 50 % back. I can mange half decent workouts for lousy time, but just plain walking is murder. So I do what I can. My appetite is way down. I probably only eat about 1800-2200 calories a day now, and maintaining.

On the upside, I'm getting some really good perspective on where my weak point are in terms of stabilizing the core. My approach has been - get ready for a heavy lift, contract everything in the core area and hope I make the weight, then relax.

Doing that I've developed some imbalances that have let the weak get weaker and the strong dominate. I guess have a small booty for a reason, my glutes are just plain lazy and let my abs do the stablilzing. It works to a point but when the load gets heavy enough or goes on long enough, everything falls apart.

Most of my workouts right now are on awareness type stuff. Identifying and isolating small movements with various hip glute and quad muscles.

Last week I did do a 7 round Cindy with squat thrusts as a sub for SQ and all standard push ups. Afterwords I was interviewed by the local student radio station for Crossfit Mobile. I probably won't get to listen, but if you are curious it should be aired this Wednesday at 12 noon EST here, on the show MIDWEEK .

Thanks everyone for checking in. I've been doing my rounds reading other's journals but have nothing to add.

sounds like you're making some great improvements! it's interesting what you noted about contracting your core for a big lift, I think I may have the same tendency.
