Pretty cool working out together like you guys are doing. I'll be watching to see your progress.

We don't get to do that at my house. I do mine. My wife does hers. My youngest does hers after school. At least they get a spotter out of the deal.

OKAY! So here I am. My mother has been writing down everything that we've done as of yet, so kudos to her. BTW Welch, you suggested that I listen to my mother on the other board. Now, it's not something I do very often, but I'm going to give it a try to see where it leads .

I'll get pictures of myself for a before/after shot this weekend for you all.

I'm sure LC regretted this arrangement yesterday when some cackling (my impressions) High school girls came in the gym for about 15 minutes and whined about how lazy they felt then started lifting their shirts to look at their midriff in the mirror. (Why do untoned teenage midriffs still look ok? )

Thanks to the guy who totally didn't know how to do pushdowns, I was able to point out to LC a bad example of exercise form!

Are the R's for reps? Like 8Rx70 lbs? Seems unnecessary if you got the "lbs" to tell what is what I'll be around to watch progress, looks like a good starting routine :

PS - How old are you guys?

lol nothing to be ashamed of, can't stop the aging process. Plus I'm sure you don't look a day over 30 with all the fitness work you do

We did another cardio session in order to get our full day weight workout to land on a weekend. That way we can spend as much time as necessay since we are not fitting it in before I leave for work.

I gave LC the heart rate monitor so he can learn to pace himself and decide on something to strive for. On my end, my endurance is back in the toilet, but this is going to get me back on track. (Still thinking about that spring 5k goal)

Ahhh...! Unlimited time in the gym Sat. evening and few to no one there. We spent an hour and a half working out, trying stuff and demonstrating how equipment is used for various goals.

This would be considered the workout part of it:

(10 min warm up and 5 min stretch cooldown)
2 sets of 8-10 reps for each

Capt chair leg raises
Back (hyper "althought we don't ever try to hyperextend") extensions
Deadlifts
DB lunges
Good Mornings
Chinups (LC) - the little brat whips out four in good form right off the bat!
Me- Reverse pushups, pullin up to the bar on the smith rack with heels on floor (my excuse for a set of chinups)
Chest Dips - (LC) his "new exercise love"
DB Side Lat raise
Preacher curls
Wrist curls

I hate this! He picks up the weight and intuitively uses good form. He needs very little correction.

Today is a day off

Yes yes, Dips are awesome! Lunges are also a favourite. The wrist curls were oddly easy. I didn't like the Preacher curls using the machine, I would much perfer use the free weights, but MOM says the machine forces you into good form, but the one at the gym is a little shotty.

I'll be designing my own program this week, and will keep you guys up to date. I'm creating a new thread for my progress pictures.
