Ok you can all take a sigh of relief and relax now I am back shoulder pains were due to a tightness in pecs pulling pec minor and shoulders forward with a weakness in some back muscles not able to support it.

So had breakfast at eight then a college exam nothing major just to determine if i could be aloowed register to dispense and then a sandwich after at half 1 (5 1/2hrs) then trained at 3 so great preparation beforehand oh yeah got little sleep also. The workout was carried out with impecable form to ensure not another injury so dropped a bit of weight.
Ok i think i have made enough excuses so heres the workout.

seated lat raises 22x7
22x7

shoulder press 121 x 5
110 x 8

reverse shrugs 176 x 7
176 x 15

closegrip 154 x 6
154 x 5

tri pulldown 7 x 44
7 x 44

french press 10 x 66
10 x 66

preacher curl 8 x 66
8x 66

standing dumbbell curls 43 x4
37 x 6

concentration 8 x25
8 x 25

Comments: after lat raises shoulders were killing me but not in a bad way but fatigued very quickly. Preparation was not ideal, I t was first time back for a while and i was more interested in just getting back into it so overall happy.

Excuses? Why make them for doing something smart? Dropping the weight enough to keep good form was a good idea. I still use the loose form from max ot when I first raise the weight if I have to, but don't increase again until the form is right. Sometimes that means being stuck at a lower weight than I'd like for longer than I'd like - but no new injuries since I started doing that instead of raising the weight as soon as I could get 6 reps by any means. The strength that comes from the combination seems to be real so good form seems to be a good thing.

Resurrection
Went sprinting Sunday. First time in years. No better way to do it than with a former Olymic athlete. OUCH

Legs yesterday:

First time in a while due to knee problems. Cant do any squatting motions so focusing on hamstrings.

SLDLs supersetted with knee extensions

10 x 132
8 x 200
6 x 240
6 x 286
5 x 297
6 x 308

(dont know weight increments for knee extensions so no point putting it up)

Hamstring Curls (single legged)
8 x 66
8 x 88
8 x 88

left hamstring is much weaker and onnly got 5 reps onn 88 and had to drop to 66 to finish.

Shoulders today

So with everyone posting progress pics for the New Year I posted a pic in the avator.

My query is whether I should continue bulking or start to cut. With my metabolism weight loss is not a problem so I was thinking perhaps to try and gain a lean 10 pound first and then drop a few %???????????????

What do you mean?
You caught me though I hoped when she saw it she would realise there are some men worth staying in Ireland for.
I realise I may be a bit big for your liking but bodybuilding is the lifestyle I chose. I want to be above the norm and Id say she appreciates a guy that can look after himself.

I notice you have changed your avator. I hope my picture did not intimidate you to take it down. You had a good base you just need to eat more if you want to grow. If you post your diet I can give some tips.

I was worried that if I posted my pics I might make others feel bad about themselves. However the key is not to compare yourself to others but improve on who you are and with consistent hard work you will achieve also what you once thought was impossible.

Thanks man.
Im quite lucky that my arms are very responsive. I dont often isolate them directly as they get sufficiently worked by the compound movements such as the swinging barbell curl.
(Do it in the squat rack so people know you are serious have to command respect in the gym)

It band is stiff again havent been great with physio exercises. Seems as though will have to do them indefinatly and even then the response is not great as the IT band was just an additional problem so a small bit discouraged. Looks like going to have to dish out for an MRI.

SLDLs are perfect though as all the problem is in bending the knee which you should not be doing for SLDLS a bit arkward at atart but grand after that.

Quads have literally disappeared now which is quite disappointing though in fairness they were never great to begin with.

Thanks I have worked hard to achieve my physique and though not a 100% satisified I believe a few small tweaks should have me where I want to be
