That's an awesome effort on the Deadlifts. You'll get it. I like to stamp my feet, visualise and really feel them getting cemented to the floor. Then place my hands and squeeze and again imagine glue setting around them. They're bound. They're tight. I'm just moving through a smooth motion. And then go.

Good luck! I'm sure you'll make it next time.

Thanks guys!

I took a complete rest day yesterday, I listened to my body Plus I still ate over 2000 calories even though I feel guilty doing that on a rest day. But I have been so hungry lately!

I am going to gym tonight i think, not sure whether I will tackle fight gone bad or not...

good for you!!
as I always say, it's much more challenging (mentally of course) to take a rest day.

thanks bryson and seraph! I did enjoy my rest day, it was nice and relaxing! It just gets so stressful sometimes, I go to work, then gym and if I need to go to the store after the gym for food, I get home at 8.30! and then I like to get to bed by eleven so it leaves not a lot of time for cooking, eating, preparing food for next day etc.

Back to the gym yesterday and still low on energy! jeez what is up. I couldn't do 10 pushups in the warmup, and when I tried to do strict pullups I could only do singles as I got so fatigued! how weird. i still stuck it out and didn't do so badly on FGB.

Thursday March 20th
Warmup Shoulder dislocates, CFWUx1

"Fight Gone Bad"
Sumo Deadlift High Pull 55#
Box Jump
Wall Ball 14#
Row
Push Press 55#

1 minute at each station (5 mins) 1 minute rest, repeat 2 more times. Count total reps.

SDHP 22, 18, 15
BoxJ 28, 25, 23
WB 20, 19, 19
Row 10, 8, 8
PP 10, 10, 8

total score : 243

First time RX'd so PR by default. My SDHP were ugly, seriously U-G-L-Y I was all over the place I couldn't get it up smoothly! Also my push press sucked big time but only to be expected. Also I think my order was off, but that is how they were written on the board at my gym.

Happy with my effort, but I know i can do better when I am not feeling so crappy.

My knee is a bit sore now though, damn box jumps. Also my shin hurts a little, so i think I may have some shin splints.

grrr.

I love the aggressive response you give when you know you can do better. I'm completely the same. I try to not let it leave the gym too much though, otherwise I start to beat myself up over things, which just leads to negative workouts. My approach: be as hard on yourself as you want, in the gym, but once you're out try have some perspective. After all, you kicked some FGB ass!

thanks jdr! I did have a good weekend!

Friday March 21st 4 mile run in 32:33

Saturday March 22nd Snowboarding! Conditions were not great (death cookies!!) but we still had fun. Looking forward to seeing the last of those little balls of ice everywhere!!

Sunday March 23rd 2hrs of snowboarding : we had to leave early to drive up to mom-in-laws for easter dinner. I indulged in chips, crackers and a piece of key lime pie (yum)

Not sure about doing the long run tonight that I had planned, my shin/knees hurt a little on fridays run, nothing too worrying but I don't want to aggravate it and get into a situation where I can't run for weeks. I was planning to sub with a bike ride to at least get the aerobic part of it, but it is freezing outside again today! I will see how I feel later.

it's good to be cautious about your knees... cus you're right, it really stinks when you're out for weeks!

no way! i bet there will be a very long season this year, they have recieved over 17 feet of snow this season, and there is still a lot there.. it is just frozen solid! Once it warms up we will have spring conditions! hopefully it will be somewhat of a gradual warmup.. a week of 70 degree temps would wipe the lot out!

It is the shins that bother me more than the knees even, did you get shin splints at all while you were training? I guess I should have eased in more.. I think I went for practically 0 miles to 11 miles in one week, doesn't seem like that much but maybe I moved too quickly!!

I'm soooooo sick of the snow :P I should go skiing more often, then I'd appreciate it more

I've never had shin splints before. When I was training my knees did get pretty bothered at times, but trying to stay off of pavement helped. I also had to get some insoles as I tend to roll my ankles inwards when I run. They seemed to help a lot with the knee soreness.

I bet it's that 0 to 11 miles may not seem hard on your body from an aerobic standpoint, ie. you can run that much and not feel drained but your body isn't used to that type of stress physically speaking.
I'm sure you'll adjust quick enough. Just be sure to listen to your body

minime, this probably isn't the case for you but it was for me concerning shin splints.

i have two different size feet!! i thought i was 9 or 9.5 well i was wrong, one foot is a 10 and that's what caused all my shin splints. look into it!! as soon as i got size 10 shoes i was fine...well....
