Hello Minime!! I am beginning to love crossfit already and have already told a few of my friends to check it out..although, I don't think they ever did. I think it's exactly what I needed, the change, the variation in workout, the intensity!

P.S. that's awesome about San Lucas! you will have a great time!!!!

Thanks for the tips Pierini!

Talia, I am delighted that you are enjoying the crossfit, I think it will be very good for you! I am excited about Mexico, it will be nice to just sit in the sun and relax!

Friday March 28th 30 minute run, appox 3.5 miles

Saturday March 29th Snowboarding day! I didn't push myself super hard today.. I spent more time inside than I should have, but it was super windy and quite miserable at the top. It was 2 degrees I think, and the winds were so strong I almost got blown over a number of times!

Sunday March 30th Snowboarding day! Much better today, it warmed up and the conditions were awesome. I feel like I pushed myself pretty hard, and was super tired at the end of the day. We had a great time!

Today I am thinking I will take a rest day, I just don't feel up to taking on Fran! And it is class on Monday night, there is no way Steve would let me get away with using anything less than the prescribed weight of 65# for the thrusters (miserable)

Also today I am trying to do the 'lower carb' thing with my diet to see how it feels. (it feels hungry ha ha)

hey j, yes it was a great weekend!

I took yesterday off, complete rest, and my body still feels tired today! I will hit the gym and see how it goes. I am thinking 'fran' but maybe I'll just use 55# this time (i know i know)

boarding was great this weekend! We went to Wildcat mountain, NH... we will be boarding right into May at this rate, they still have lots of snow left, and it's barely gotten above freezing there yet!

in a few weeks we will be doing 'Tuckerman's' : i am told it is a 3hr hike and once you get there you can do small hikes up to the 'bowl' and board down. I won't be doing that as it is crazy steep. But then at the end of the day, there is one long trail all the way to the bottom!!

seraph, tuckerman's won't even be for another couple of weeks : it is that cold up there. Last weekend everything was frozen, it was well below freezing on saturday. I am betting we will do tuckerman's closer to the end of april, unless there is a big warmup! You should go, i have never done it but I hear it is great fun even if you are too much of a scaredy cat to do the bowl (that's me)

Tuesday April 1st
Warmup CFWUx1, shoulder dislocates
Strict pullup x5 (YEAH!)
Strict chinup x5 (DOUBLE YEAH!)

"Wussy Fran"
21-15-9 rep rounds of
55lb Thruster
Pullup

8:20

Running On treadmill ran 0.5 mile (warmup) at 7mph and packed it in. Plan was to do the 800s for time but energy was low.

Stretching & foam rolling

So I can't decide if this was a great workout or not! I felt my performance in Fran was pretty good, thrusters killed me even at 55lbs but I did get the first 13 unbroken which I was happy about. My wrists/shoulders were getting really sore so I was glad I scaled it down. Kipping pullups were a breeze. I think I prob have a 15 min fran in me, if I ever man up and do it that is!!

Strict pullups/chinups felt great today! that is all the rest I am betting. PR at 5 reps for both, though I have to say i had a wee half-kip the last rep of the pullup, I'm still counting it though!!

So during warmup & fran I felt great, but then I got on the treadmill and it was like I just ran out of energy right then.

The low(ish) carb diet is not as bad as I expected, though when I got home last night from the gym I was about ready to gnaw my own arm off. This morning woke up with no hunger (kind of unusual for me haha)

That's absolutely great! Keep doing those strict pullups and you will build one intimidating back. You'll scare guys at the beach!

What's the difference between pullups and chin ups? Just grip?

Lol, I totally glossed over your amazing pullup work with the question. Five's great. And it's awesome that you didn't give up, because I know how stupid you can feel doing singles with everyone watching.

As for the lack of energy, I've def. been there. I try to take an apple with me, for just such occasions. If you're not feeling it. Take 5-10mins and go stretch some more. Eat the apple, and then give it another shot. If you're still not there. Maybe hit the showers, you're body might be trying to tell you something.

That's assuming you're low carb diet allows for apples?

Great work on those pullups my friend!!

I think I'm still a few weeks away from pullups, at this rate we'll be able to race each other to see who can get to 10 unbroken (not that it's all that fair mind you - you've got a 5 pull headstart ... I doubt I'll even be able to do one after how long this bloody shoulder is taking to heal ).

strong work!
