thanks for the welcome back guys! pierini, it was NOT funny
talia thank you for the 'murph' comment, I remember the feeling of elation having completed it (that, and pectoral pain)
JDR I was planning a handstand pic in the sand (only place I am comfortable kicking up without a wall) but I totally forgot!! grrr. There are definitely plenty of pics though, including some underwaters of fish! Once I get uploaded, I will post a couple.
My diet was appalling, I ate twice a day for the most part, my breakfast consisting usually of the following:
scrambled eggs, bacon and deli ham
2 peices french toast with syrup
salad
approx 1lb of fresh fruit (they had EVERYTHING)
couple of mini muffin/pastries
sometimes yogurt with granola
how did it all fit in my belly you might ask? I don't know... I never really felt STUFFED. its weird. It usually kept me full up for about 5-6 hours however, then it was just about time for a nice cold corona and a handful of delicous tortilla chips

even though i did get 12 hours of sleep last night, I cannot go to the gym today. I am still experiencing some pretty bad abdominal cramping, ugh. Being sick sucks!

Hey MM - You are really progressing fast (as I predicted at the beginning of the year)! Your times and numbers are just awesome.
How'd you get time off your job for a vacation so early into it? It can't be all that awful if they allow that kind of flexibility.
I still lurk at your journal.

hey talia, yes the tortilla chips were very delicious! as was everything else I indulged in! back to business as usual now though, no more daily french toast, tortilla & beer fixes
linda, I am on a contract-to-perm basis, before I accepted the job offer I told them I would be taking a week off. It was unpaid though, as I get paid on an hourly basis right now.
Glad to hear you still check out my journal!

I returned to the gym Friday night after work. I felt weak from lack of food but was otherwise feeling good.
Friday May 16th
Warmup CFWUx2, plus HSPU to 2 abmats, and some KTE
"Christine"
3 rounds for time
500m row
12 BW deadlift (used 105)
21 box jump
14:58
only 3 seconds off my previous time which all things considering isn't too bad! I beat the others by a good amount of time (5+ mins) but had the distinct advantage of being a wee thing. The other ladies had to use 130 and 150 for deadlifts which definitely made it harder. Kudos to Chris though for completing Christine as RX'd, the last time she only used 75#
I was glad we did a short WOD as I felt my energy would not last long!
Saturday May 17th Rest day
Sunday May 18th 20 mile bike ride with hubby
Yesterday I finally had a day where I ate well over a thousand calories! I am back on track i think.

Nice to read that you are back on your fitness saddle minime. Good job on that WOD. How high was the box for your box jumps?

Hi pierini, I think the box is 20 inches high.
We have four heights, and there looks to be a 10 inch diffence in them, so the next size up is 30 inches. I jumped onto it one time, it feels really high

Nice time on Christine!
Since I don't have access to a rower, how long did the rows take?

since I am the worlds slowest rower, my 500m times when part of a WOD are usually in the 2:20s, but that day it was 2:30 each one.
My best 500 time ever i think is 2:12 which is extremely poor
I could see myself knocking perhaps 2 minutes off this workout if I was in top form, but I can't fathom doing it in sub-10 which many do. Already my deadlifts were practically unbroken and my box jumps were steady albeit slow. Knocking 5 minutes off seems inconcievable to me.

Monday May 19th
Warmup CFWUx2, clean demonstration to chris (i am bad at explaining stuff!)
Went to a class tonight that was give by a former navy seal. Didn't know what to expect so didn't do WOD before hand (glad too because he made us do many many pushups!)
His class seemed to be a mix of bursts of work (pushups, pullups, rope climbs, situps etc.) interspersed with what I can only describe as 'motivational speeches' he was a bit nuts it seemed, but it made for an interesting experience.
He finished by making us do 'team pushups' there were about 8-10 of us there so the team pushup was quite difficult but we did get it in the end.
The cool thing was that for pushups he didn't make us go chest to deck, but rather a partner puts a fist under you and you go chest to fist! So much easier than crossfit pushups lol
I had my bodyfat tested at the gym and was told I have 16.9% body fat. Their method involved all over body measurements, 3-point caliper measurement, and then they input all the data into a software program. It takes into account age & weight also.
I don't think it is a very accurate measure of body fat, but I am ok with my percentage! Apparently I am almost perfectly healthy, my bodyfat, BMI and hip-to-waist ratio are all in the healthy category.
I said, pointing to the body fat fade-out chart 'how do i get into the RED!' lol

How does that compare to where you think you are at?

I would think it is pretty close.
however my friends were getting some pretty high numbers (in the 30s) despite not being extremely 'fat' looking. I think because the formula adjusts for age, and they are older.
I am just wary of formulas that calculate bodyfat, there are too many variables. If somebody else had taken the measurements, if it had been first thing in the morning etc. i could have gotten a different number (higher or lower) varying by a couple of percentage points I suspect.
Maybe some day I will have the underwater test, I hear that is pretty accurate.
But then, i can just go by my abs.... when I have a full six pack I will know I am in the red lol (that will never happen as I like food too much)
