Disappointed with Helen Performance, PR is 12:50 but I wasn't feeling it today. you win some you lose some i guess

sunny and warm here!! as far as "Helen" goes, at least you did it, that's the important part. more important than setting a PR every time!
how'd the hike go this weekend?

good to hear you are enjoying yourself seraph! the hike was a joke...other people are so lazy It was very short (less than 2hr round trip) and I had to practically run up to get a workout hehe.
Took three days off from gym - back to it yesterday
Monday November 24th
Clean drills ~15 minutes
Clean and Jerk (power clean/split jerk) - all singles
65x5
75x5
85x5
95x3
100x1
105x1
110x clean, fail on jerk
Woohoo! even 95 was a PR for jerk for me, I am delighted with this performance. The 110lb clean was a PR also, as well as all the jerks. The clean was ugly, and then I had it in rack position for a few seconds, realise how heavy it was and lost my nerve! My shoulders were pretty tired.
So it seems eating way too much for 2 days, translates to an awesome o-lift session! pity I can't claim a bw c&j with 105 due to aforementioned eating way too much...
had a training class way outside the city, had hubby drive me in decided I would walk the 4 miles to train afterward, but then i took a wrong turn and ended up walking for 1.5hrs or more! aaah. I guess probably 6 miles yesterday. 6 miles friday. 5 miles saturday. 2 miles sunday.

hey seraph - well hopefully I will be seeing more PRs!! I have been eating a bit more lately and it does make me feel stronger, just a little puffier haha
Last night, I was DEFEATED by a crossfit workout. I literally could not finish the WOD because the urge to vomit and/or pass out became so strong. It was the oddest thing, I guess the workout has some kind of nauseating combination or something...
Tuesday November 25th
3 rounds for time:
21 knee to elbow
21 kettlebell swings (32kg)
21 pushups
3 rope climbs
21 box jumps
21 back extensions
150ft walking lunge
I made it through 2 rounds in 21 minutes, fighting vague nausea pretty much the whole time, then after about 9 kte in round three I had to leave the cf room and go lie on the floor. Each time I moved I felt I would vomit. It was horrible! ALso I was not wearing tube socks or long pants and just 'pushed through' the rope climbs, now I have a big burn on my leg and it is quite painful
bad day for laura.

Seraph it WAS brutal, in the least fun way. I need to do it again once my burn heals I can't stand to have a wod beat me!
Talia I guess I am a bit crazy but intensity is important to me: I love it!
Yesterday I did a thanksgiving run of 9 miles at my usual pace of 8.5 minute miles. Felt pretty good til the last mile or so then my knee hurt a bit.
Had a great dinner: lots of dark meat turkey turnips green beans and brown bread. My sis in law makes the best apple pie EVER so I had a slice. And then another he he. Second was mostly apples though. I doubt I ate more than 2000 cals yesterday.
Taking rest today, my legs are sore.

Oh I realise I didn't post weds workout either. Had class : we did a warmup involving sprints weird crawl things, inch worms lol
Workout was:
5 rounds
400m row
10 deadlift at 115lbs
50 double unders
10 burpee pullups
I finished first I think around the 40 min mark, pretty brutal! But fun.

Thanks JDR!
Friday November 29th Rest day though I walked a total of 4 miles
Saturday November 30th 3 mile walk to gym
Deadlifts 3-3-3-3-3
Warmup 95x5, 135x5
165-185-190(PR)-175-175
Strict pullups 4 sets of 5
Foam rolling, lots of foam rolling
On the second set I put the 10s on by mistake, and was thinking whoa 175 feels so heavy!! Then realised I made an error, and decided to just go for 190 right then before I got too tired. The final rep was slow to go up and felt very hard. When I dropped back to 175 I was expecting it to be a breeze but I guess I was tired out by then, it still felt super heavy.
Was beat after the deadlifts, no energy for metcon. Went to sister in laws for a dinner party and when I arrived I was so hungry I saw a fresh loaf of homemade Irish brown soda bread, and I next thing I know I am covered in buttery crumbs and the loaf is gone!! ok so it wasn't quite THAT dramatic but I did eat about 4 slices and then I ate a lot of ice cream and some brownies after dinner.
not to mention the (ahem) 5 light beers and few sips of a pomengranate martini. I haven't been that tipsy in a long time!
Deadlifts = insane hunger and an extremely sore back right now. Rest day yesterday.
no more maxing out on DL for a couple of weeks for me, it is extremely taxing on my body it seems. Today I may do tabata something else, and/or the strict shoulder presses.

Hello ok..so as I stated in my workout journal I really am on the band wagon with trying this out and doing the best that I can to get to the numbers as close as possible.
but..check out my entry for December 2nd on TDP-- I was under calories, way over sodium, at my carb intake and over 100 for protein. This was me really trying hard! I didn't have 1 single crouton and for dinner instead of eating the pre-made twice baked potato from the grocery store I cooked my own baked potato and ate it plain. For my dinner I made my own salad at work.. how does the day look? am I headed in the right direction?
as for the drinks, I will procrastinate on trying my hardest not to slip up, after my birthday! hehhe

Hey Talia - yes that looks very good. You could use more fat though to get you to 1500. More peanut butter or something.
Do you weigh these potatos? Just because I have found that a medium size potato is often about 8-10oz in weight, surprisingly enough! and that would make it twice the calories. Not saying yours are, but weigh it just to be sure.
Monday December 1st
Unable to do tabatas due to back being super sore, could not kip. Foam rolling, stretching, some light strict press singles
60-60-60-60-65-65-65
could not go heavier as back was so tight. Also did some strict pullups and dips (about 15 of each) and some jump rope.
Tuesday December 2nd
Tabata Something Else
20 seconds on/10 seconds off - 32 intervals, first 8 are pullups, second pushups, third situps, last squats
pullups 15-10-8-7-7-6-6-6 =65
pushups 10-8-6-6-6-5-5-4 =50
situps 14-12-11-12-11-11-12-11 =94
squats 21-20-18-19-18-18-18-18 =150
total 359
NOT a PR. However I did ditch the dynamax ball which contributed to my lower squat numbers. Dynamax ball is cheating due to a)bounce factor makes squats easier/faster and b)I'm so short it's barely parallel.
so this is my new and improved tabata something Else score. Next time will beat it hopefully!
problem is right now I am in all kinds of agony - everywhere hurts. I think I might have to skip the gym. My thighs are so tender! i can barely lift my arms! darn you tabatas!

Well had to take wednesday off as I was in so much pain from Tabatas.... Yesterday was still in tons of pain but decided to suck it up and work through the pain.
Thursday December 4th
Fran
21-15-9
65lb thruster
pullup
7:58 (PR)
woohoo!! delighted to have a sub-8 fran. Next step, 7 minutes! The thrusters killed me, they were very very broken. Pullups are a breeze. If the bar wasn't so slippery, I could have done pullups faster but I need more strength before I can get that number down.
I should probably start doing heavier thrusters now and again, so 65 begins to feel light or something...
Legs very sore stil today, but no worse and perhaps even a bit better. I might hit the gym again, once I start working out the pain is not even noticeable. Stretching quads out really helps.

THanks JDR, that is so true !!! if only. I'm sure someday 65lbs will begin to feel light as a feather... .
Friday December 5th
Heavy Christine
Wearing 15# vest
3 rounds
500m row
115lb deadlift x9
box jump x15
13:25
Also did some double unders (got 40 consecutive - PR!) and some handstand practice. Had the hubby with me, it was great! I wish he would come more often. He did the same as me with christine, but without the vest! 22 mins for him. And he got 36 single unders in a row
