Here I am back in Ireland! Its so great to see my family again and be back home. It rained today! Total disaster with my flight over : they left us sitting on the plane for FIVE HOURS before taking off (engine trouble) and then the rerouted to dublin so I had to switch flights to get to shannon. It was horrible! My brother was driving the 2hr to shannon to pick me up at 6am so I had to call his house in the middle of the night to tell him to hold off until noon! I ended up getting in just after one, 7 hours behind schedule. Thank you Aer Lingus
Anyway after three days of rest I decided to hit up the gym with my da on a guest pass, it was small and limited in terms of equipment but I made do. I did todays WOD with modifications : also I wasn't moving as fast as I could due to waiting for stuff, people getting in my way etc.
Friday February 8th

Finished up with some light barefoot deadlifts 5x5x140
There was a straight across bar for pullups surprisingly, but it was a bit close to a mirror so my kip was somewhat limited, but still possible. I enjoyed this workout despite my need for modifications. My time was slow, I know I could be at least 5 minutes faster in my own gym.
Happy with row PR even if it is just one second! I was going well with a 2:08 pace for the first half but then I just lost it!
I've been eating my mammys home made french fries for dinner  and today i had an apple cake when I met my sis for coffee! Such un-laura like behaviour. Tsk tsk.
I have still been at least 70% good with diet though, lots of fruits and vegetables and meat. Had salmon for dinner tonight and steak last night. No beer yet but I will have some tonight for sure!

wait, my calculations were off. it was only 18# not 20 for the thrusters and cleans, and my deadlifts were 139#
i am back to kg now that i am in ireland... grumble grumble

Well after another two days off I hit the gym with my sister today. Her gym was even worse than my dads, the equipment was terrible, no bars or anything! There was a smith machine and some dumbells. There were some C2 rowers but the screens weren't working so no testing the 500m. Plus no AC so the place was like a sauna. I made do ...

The knee to elbows I did on the smith bar which was so slippery they were mostly singles, I couldn't hang on at all. Manmakers were tough, swings were easy : should have used a heavier dumbell.
Afterwards I did a spot of swimming (which I am terrible at btw) I believe I did 10x18m with breaks between each one (and during haha) yes I really am that bad. I need to practice swimming more.
Happy to get in a workout even if it did suck.
My eating has been appalling : Saturday night I had BBQ pork ribs (not as good here as in the US..not tender enough), and a peice of chocolate cake, and several beers; yesterday I ate birthday cake (my nephew was four) and a ton of sweets .. I have generally been just terrible. Need to get a grip on it, it is like I flicked a switch and now I have no self control with food! I feel like a blob!
All this food had better translate to a 2x bw deadlift when I manage to get my hands on some proper weights!

it's actually not that bad! I was skeptical at first too!
it has a banana, soy milk, boshe pear, flax seed, water frozen spinach and dates if you want to put them in there but they don't blend very well so I leave them out

Hi all, I am back!
We got back yesterday afternoon but I was way to tired to hit the gym, so today it will be. In the end I decided to just take the rest of my vacation off from exercise, so now I won't need to take any time off for another few months! It was fine, I enjoyed the rest but I feel weak and gross!
My diet was awful. I have my mammy's roast potatoes coming out my ears and I ate enough bread to open a bakery. I am so well fed and well rested I feel like a fattened cow ready for slaughter!
Ready to hit the gym today even though I suspect I will be weak and sluggish!

Thanks pierini and j2bryson! I too am ready for some big lifts... but it may take a few days to get back in the swing of it!
My return to the gym started off badly... when I jumped on the bar to test my strict pullups i could not do 2 in a row! aaaah. However my kipping pullups felt great.

Happy with my annie PR, I was going for sub 10. Front Squats felt bad, the 125 ties my PR. My depth was good, but I was on my toes when I came out of it, due to my poor rack position I suppose.
Overall I guess it could have been a lot worse!
I was starving all day yesterday, even though I ate lots of fruit and vegetables and the only 'processed' thing I ate was a peice of low carb bread (well, plain yogurt too i guess that is processed)! I have switched to full fat dairy, and am trying to not have any added sugar for a while, I succeeded yesterday.
Calories yesterday about 1900
140g protein
150g carb
75g fat

Today I did 20 kipping pullups in a row! it is a new PR. It was part of my workout but I was psyched to get all 20 unbroken.

The rope climb part of this took me nine minutes, everything was going great up until then! I almost quit after the first one (rope burn on the way down = ouch finger blister) but a guy I know from class was there and he wasn't accepting my excuses! I said 'I can't do two more' and he said 'Yes you can, its just a matter of time' so instead of taking the easy way out and quitting I hung in there and took a sucky time!
I felt awful after this workout, really pukie (i did not puke) and lightheaded, it took a while to get back to normal. It felt just like that time I did Barbara and quit after 3 rounds! Weird how some workouts get ya like that... it was the rope climbs I am sure. That is the most rope climbing I have ever done in one day!
My finger blister is gross and sore, but I am actually surprised I got away with only one!
Been starving again today, so weird. I guess my body got used to getting huge amounts of calories while I was in Ireland! I had about 2000 calories, I was planning to keep my calories lower to make up for vacation, but I can't stand the hollow feeling! i still feel it now and I just ate roast chicken with cabbage, peas, a salad, an orange and a handful of walnuts an hour ago! jeez. Well I am going to bed soon anyway.
I could barely get my jeans tied today which I am HOPING is due to them just coming out of the dryer, and the fact that I am about to get my period.

looks like you're not wasting any time getting back into it. good job!
I'm sure your body will adjust to your intake soon enough. It does suck though. When I stopped eating 3000cal it was hard to eat 'normally' again. I wouldn't worry too much about your jeans either  i know i know... we're women it's what we do. :P
