You think it's easier? There I was being all impressed by those heavy BOR's and you're doing them the easy way.

jk...I guess my balance is just odd - I find them harder. Still either way that's some fine rowing.

its not that its easier, its just different, like the difference between pullups and chinups. the chinups "seem" easier cause you activate more biceps so you can use more weight, but its all relative I guess.

Rangers is right...same difference as pull ups and chin ups. These 175s felt a little too heavy too soon. I was repping 6x200 on overhand BORs, I was hoping to at least get to 200+ with the underhands. We'll see how the next few weeks pan out.

HEAVY BENCH, Monday, January 16, 2006
Bench Press (Ring Fingers) 10 x 45 lbs, 6 x 95 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 2 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 235 lbs
DB Flat Press 6 x 75 lbs, 6 x 75 lbs, 6 x 75 lbs
Lateral Raises 10 x 35 lbs
Front Raises 10 x 35 lbs
Face Pulls 12 x 150 lbs

Notes: Going to start doing the maxing with bench and different levels of pin presses each week. 225 went up solidly, spotter wouldn't move his hands but I think it was all me mostly. 235 he helped a little even though I told him specifically NOT to touch it. 235 was tough and previous PR, so good place to start. I went to bed at 7am and had a few beers last night. I was not 100% by any means.

Because people don't know how to spot properly. How does 225 feel now? Like cake? You'll never miss that weight ever again.

225 went up very well. It was down and up, no hitches just a solid push. He had fingers under the bar, I believe only very slightly touching, not enough to really affect the lift. I've done 225 on my own before and I'm damn sure I can get it. I wish spotters weren't so ignorant sometimes. There's a guy that works there that knows what he's doing, but he wasn't around when I needed him. D'oh.

Hey gcs, I haven't stopped by your journal in a while. How's the hammy doing? I made fun of you in another thread as an example of what NOT to do with a hamstring injury. I figured I'd stop by and ask to show that it was genuine concern and not just me having fun.

lol funny man I honestly have no idea how the hammy is. I haven't done ANY leg work (save for calves now and then) since my last squatting session about a month ago maybe. I'm hoping it's getting better, but I won't know for sure until I lift legs in a couple months.
