I might start packing peanut butter sandwiches, not a bad idea. I just don't think about it ever really until it's too late.

Not sure if this is the case at your school, but back in the day when I was in college, we used to get a hot meal, then hit the deli line to have a couple sandwiches made. We'd wrap them in napkins and sneak them out (no food was permitted to leave the caf).

I think the kitchen crew looked the other way for the most part.

If you decide to go the pbj route, buy good peanut butter that doesn't have any added sugar or salt or oil. I use to buy mine at Trader Joe's but they changed suppliers and I no longer like what they carry now. Pay a few more cents more for the good stuff.

I use 2 tablespoons of pb and 1 tablespoon of jam on whole wheat bread. It calcs out at about 470 calories and will stick to your ribs giving you that full feeling for hours. Chase it with an apple and you'll have a much better day.

CHEST, Monday, February 6, 2006
Bench Press (Middle Fingers) 10 x 45 lbs, 6 x 95 lbs, 4 x 135 lbs, 2 x 175 lbs, 10 sets of 3 @ 195 lbs
Seated DB Press 3 x 55 lbs, 5 x 55 lbs, 6 x 50 lbs, 4 x 50 lbs
Tricep Pushdowns (w/rope) 8 x 120 lbs, 7 x 120 lbs, 6 x 120 lbs
Machine Crunches 2 x 10

Notes: Started one of IA's 3x a week lifting programs. The bench sets dominated me. That volume was intense. It made the rest of my lifts suffer big time lol. On seated DB press, the first set my leg cramped really bad so I had to quit, then had to drop weight from fatigue. Pushdowns I was just so burned out on, had to drop the last set but no biggie. Couple heavy ab sets and that was all.

I have lost 6-7 lbs, which is one of the reasons I think my lifts have been down. Scale weight used to be about 205, now it's 199, minus shoes and clothes puts me about 197 lbs. I'm going to focus on a diet a lot more and hopefully get some sleep but it's just so hard with so much to do.

BORs 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 115 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 155 lbs, 10 sets of 3 @ 175 lbs
Seated Cable Rows 8 x 120 lbs, 8 x 120 lbs
Hammer Curls 8 x 40 lbs, 8 x 40 lbs, 8 x 40 lbs

Notes: Still working with the 3 day powerlifting program. I like it cuz it's pretty simple and I can leave pretty quickly. I've been stressed out and worn out, so I like to get in and out.

LEGS, Saturday, February 11, 2006
Deadlifts 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 275 lbs, 1 x 315 lbs, 1 x 315 lbs
Hanging Leg Raises BW x 10, BW+40 x 10, BW+40 x 10
Seated Calf Raises 1x8, 2x20

Notes: Hammy still interfering with my workouts, so I'm gonna still stay off of it for awhile longer. Bodyweight is roughly 196-197 lbs. I'm glad I can still deadlift about 120 lbs over bodyweight easily. I could have done more weight, but obviously I wanted to quit when I knew the hammy wasn't gonna give me any leeway.

looks good, kinda surprised to see you doing deadlifts so soon (has it been that long though?) have you ever thought about switching over to higher reps and maybe some more exercises? i might start doing 4 sets for like 10 reps soon, i'm not sure yet.

Those hanging leg raises still amaze me. I can barely budge them with a dumbell, my balance gets all screwed and I end up pulling with my hips and not my abs.

Did you ever get a doc to look at your hammy?

Higher reps are worse for my hammy cuz it only hurts on lockout...so the more lockouts, the more pain. It's been about 1.5-2 months since I've done any leg work. Never saw a doc, just don't have time now honestly. 18 credit hours + I'm working part time 25-30 hours a week. Starting to get pretty hectic around here.

That's a big load that you are carrying there buddy. I remember my college days (before you were born), I carried 18 semester hours for 3 semesters and at least 2 of those semesters I booked straight A's. But I wasn't working then. So if you are working 25-30 hours on top of that then you've got a real tough load.

Live it clean because you can't afford any down time. Have you taken a stab at those peanut butter & jam sandwiches yet?

pierini....last semester with 18 credit hours I got a 4.0, and I had lots of free time, so I thought a part time job and extra money would be good. As long as I get above a 3.5 GPA I'll be satisfied. So far I've gotten all A's and B's, I think it'll turn to more A's when I get adjusted to the tests and such.

luke....higher reps as in 10-20 probably. I don't even know when I'll have time to get to the gym. Maybe on the weekend? Hell I might have to do full body routines on the weekends at this rate. I have almost zero down time.

Hey man - how you doing? Were you able to work out some kind of weekend lifting schedule or are school and work still kicking your tail?

Nope, I haven't been able to lift or even run or work out for a very long time. I ended up doing almost 40 hours last week which is ridiculous considering my school load. I'm not scheduling more than 25 hours, which turns into 30 with closing duties and all, in the future. I skipped classes today to have some time off, and I'm going home this weekend to do a lot of car work. I've just been so busy lately and stressed out that working out just hasn't been able to fit it unfortunately.
