What I did to get past my 225 mark when I was previously at 220 I loaded on 235 had a guy spot me got it up for 2 singles and from then on I was able to double rep 225s without a spotter.....Give it a shot? To me alot of it was mental, once I got that spotter I got up the weight easier for some reason

I just need to get used to it, it's been awhile since I've worked above 225. I think my singles program will help a good amount. I'm pretty confident I can get all my 230s next week, which will be a big improvement for me.

I'm sure you will get the 230s easy. Are you going for multiple singles?

Yeah, I will be hopefully for the next few weeks. I would work up to one single, but I think it might be more effective to do multiple singles.

Squats 8x45, 3x135, 3x185, 3x225, 1x265, 1x295, 3x3 @ 320
DB Rows 12x65, 12x65
SLDLs 8x205, 8x225
DB Shrugs 15x85

Notes: I got pumped up today and hit another good workout. For squats, I nailed the 225s like speed reps. Even 295 felt light. The 320s went up great on the first set, and were somewhat tough on sets 2 and 3. I keep leaning forward a little bit, which I continually focus on. My spotter said I was going deep enough because he was going down to parallel himself at least. I'm confident in my depth, I just wish I could tweak my leaning (not a significant problem, but I think I could get more out of the lift).

Rows went well, always give my arms a good pump. That means I don't have to curl lol. Stiff legged deadlifts were exhausting but reps were smooth and solid. Shrugged some 85s and left the gym.

I've been playing with my CoC grippers and I can close the #1 even on a bad day now with my weaker hand. PR is 10 reps with the right. I am thinking of ordering the #2 for a real challenge. I see they have made a 1.5, but I'd rather just get the 2 and work towards that. From what I've read, the 2 is much harder than the 1. Does anyone here have both?

Buns of steel strikes again. Awesome squat performance. Keep moving forward.

Thanks pierini I have a feeling 3x3 will start to get exponentially harder as I enter uncharted territory. My previous squat PR is 1x325, which I'll be doing for a 3x3 next week. I may go to singles like I did in bench in the next few weeks with squats. Either way, I've been very happy with squatting lately!

Thanks. I was looking on Amazon.com today and they had 1.5, 2.5, and 3.5 CoC grippers. You can also find them on IronMind's website, the manufacturer. They are new, I'm not sure how new.

The squatting is phenomenal, its definitely giving me some motivation to keep pushing hard, we are right around the same weight. Sounds like you are definitely ready for a COC upgrade in your dominant hand anyway. After reading your post I tested close to failure with my COC #1. I managed 7 clean reps in each hand, to failure I think I could have gotten one more with my left and perhaps 2 with my right. I think I'm gonna wait til I can get a dozen clean reps in each hand before attempting to move up straight to a #2. I figure there's plenty of grip exericses I can do to help reach the #2 status with buying the #1.5.

Thanks mav, whatever it takes to keep pushing one another : I would get the 1.5, but I don't want to spend the extra $20. I won't be purchasing the 2 for probably 1-2 months, hopefully by which I'll be somewhat closer to mastering the 1 as I have the trainer. I still have a lot to do with the 1 besides regular reps, like upside down reps and holding closed for time before I am ready for the 2.

As usual great squatting. Hopefully the increases there will carry over to your bench.
