Klinger: You know the EZ curl bar would be a great idea, but there are like handles coming out in front on either side, which I think the bar would hit. If not, that is an excellent idea that I hadn't thought of.

Amy: The close grip/diamond push ups are when your thumbs and index fingers touch, making a triangle, or a diamond, depending how far down you have your thumbs. You said you did 25 close grip push ups, and I know those are very difficult, so I wanted to give you props for that.

CHEST, Thursday, December 23, 2004
Bench Press 10 x 45 lbs, 10 x 110 lbs, 8 x 130 lbs, 6 x 150 lbs, 3 x 170 lbs, 8 x 135 lbs

Notes: Gym closed today, had to go to friends house. Missed 4th rep at 170 so I did 5 lbs heavier for my last set.

Squats 10 x 45 lbs, 8 x 135 lbs, 8 x 225 lbs, 8 x 255 lbs, 6 x 265 lbs, 4 x 275 lbs, 1 x 285 lbs
Seated Calf Raises 8 x 45 lbs, 8 x 55 lbs, 8 x 65 lbs, 8 x 75 lbs
SLDLs 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 170 lbs, 6 x 180 lbs, 6 x 190 lbs
Incline Flyes 6 x 25 lbs, 6 x 30 lbs, 6 x 35 lbs, 3 x 40 lbs

Notes: Wow! Squats really went well today! I wanted 2 x 285, but it felt rather heavy (20 lb PR right there anyway). Seated calf raises supposedly hit the soleus better than the BB calf raises so I did them. Focusing on slow up and down, I'm not just bouncing the machine up and down. SLDLs kept wanting to slip out of my hands, so on the last set I did a mixed grip (as I would for normal DL) and it makes a world of difference! So much easier! Too tired for abs, why did I make them on squat and DL days?! I'll do them tomorrow. I added a chest set because yesterday was so short.

Nice squats. LOL you are just the opposite of me, your quads are alot stronger than your hams, and my hams are alot stronger than my quads!

SHOULDERS, Sunday, December 26, 2004
Dumbbell Side Lateral 8 x 15 lbs, 6 x 20 lbs, 6 x 20 lbs
Dumbbell Shoulder Press 8 x 30 lbs, 6 x 40 lbs, 6 x 45 lbs, 1 x 50 lbs
Barbell Shrugs (Front) 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs
Barbell Shrugs (Rear) 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs

Notes: WTH on shoulder press, I did more with arnold press. I think it's because of my forearm...hurts like hell today. I could barely hold the 20 lb dumbbell for side laterals without it hurting a lot. First time doing BB shrugs, started real low to work on form.

I also started throwing in the shrugs, but can't grip enough weight on the bar to hit the muscle. We've been doing them on the standing calf raise machine, seems to hit them pretty good. Other than that I'd have to get straps or something.
Good on the squats, rockin' quads.............

Deadlift 10 x 45 lbs, 8 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 6 x 295 lbs, 6 x 305 lbs, 6 x 315 lbs
Pull Ups BW x 6, BW x 5, BW x 3
Hyperextensions 10 x 65 lbs, 10 x 65 lbs, 10 x 65 lbs
Dumbbell Row 6 x 50 lbs

Notes: Deadlift went very well, first time loading 3 45s on each side When the straps are working well, the lift feels very solid and strong, not too heavy. But when the straps start to slip, the lift goes to hell. Second time using them so I still need to get adjusted I guess. Pull ups were hard, I go to lockout each time down. Hypers took it out of me and I just couldn't do the rows, I was too tired. Then my car got stuck in the snow/ice and 3 people helped me get it out (one had a cute daughter...but I have a girlfriend). And our one year anniversary is tomorrow!

Wow. Sweet job on those deadlifts. Maybe I'll pick up some straps.

It's pretty hard to do much of anything after heavy deads. You could always slip rows into an off day or after a chest workout.

A year with the same woman, huh? So, when's the wedding?

Klinger: Not quite yet ready for the wedding haha, I'm only 18

Amy: For Christmas I got her a gold ring with some diamonds and rubies (heart-shaped) and for our anniversary just some roses (white with pink/red tips), a poem I wrote/framed for her and we are dressing up for a nice restaurant. I hope she loves it.

Bench Press 10 x 45 lbs, 8 x 115 lbs, 8 x 140 lbs, 5 x 150 lbs, 3 x 170 lbs, 1 x 190 lbs, 1 x 190 lbs (+ negative), 5 x 150 lbs
Incline Dumbbell Press 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 50 lbs, 6 x 55 lbs
Flyes 6 x 35 lbs, 6 x 45 lbs

Notes: I'm surprised I nailed this week of the bench program. Last week all I did was bench for a few sets. And no extra bench work in between like they recommend. But no complaints lol. Instead of my arm hurting, now it's mainly my wrist and bicep. WTH! Oh well, I'm off tomorrow so it better heal....or else...I dunno.

Squats 10 x 45 lbs, 8 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 8 x 255 lbs, 4 x 265 lbs
Calf Raises 8 x 275 lbs, 8 x 295 lbs, 8 x 315 lbs
Good Mornings 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 165 lbs, 6 x 175 lbs, 6 x 185 lbs
Abs

Notes: Bad squat day, no improvements and had to drop 2 sets. Calf raises were easy. GMs were hard as hell. I thought I was going to die at 185 lbs. I think it hurts my back because I do hyperextensions 2 days before...Abs went well. Decline crunches BW+50 lbs aren't too difficult really. Next time I might try BW+75 lbs Granted it is only a slight decline...it makes me feel good lol.
