Anyone who can pull a 335-pound DL sure as sh!t can strap on a plate to do pullups! Show some stones!

Real nice job on those DLs, though. You've been doing them for less than a year, if I recall.

pierini ... yes I'm trying to work my way up to weighted pull ups...lol slowly but surely!

Klinger ... haha I'm not so sure I can add weight with pull ups You're right though about deads, it seems as if it's been forever, but I started them in Feb. or even March of last year. I just might give added weight pull ups a shot. I remember when I tried doing dips, bodyweight seemed difficult, but I added 20 lbs and got it to my surprise. Perhaps (hopefully!) the same will happen with pull ups. I will find out in 2 weeks.

Hey, yes you can. When I started, I was a 300 lb slob with 67% Body Fat - I had no hope of ever doing even one pullup. Started with some lat pulls, moved to trying one pull-up - eventually got it. Worked up to 3 sets of one, 3 sets of 3, and so on. When I could do 4 sets of 12 and still was not tired, started adding weight. If you work at it, it WILL happen. It just takes time, patience, and the willingness to work toward your goal.

At risk of sounding like the cajun dude on "The Waterboy", "YOU CAN DO IT".

I haven't really done lat pulls (or any machine/cable work for that matter) for a very very long time. I think as a result my lats did get weaker, but I'm doing heavy BORs and pull ups to get back up there. I've been getting my full 3x6 recently, so I will most likely move to a 3x8 in a couple weeks, then add 5-10 lbs and work my way back up. Thanks for the support welch.

Bench Press 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 115 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 4 x 155 lbs, 4 x 165 lbs, 2 x 175 lbs, 1 x 185 lbs
Incline Dumbbell Press 6 x 50 lbs, 6 x 55 lbs, 6 x 60 lbs
Flyes 6 x 40 lbs, 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 50 lbs

Notes: Bad bench day, I really thought I could hit 2 at 185. I think the light week last week was bad for me. Incline DB press went pretty well, 60s didn't feel bad at all. Flyes were a piece of cake. 40s felt like nothing, and even the 50s were pretty light

Squats 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 4 x 265 lbs, 4 x 275 lbs, 2 x 285 lbs, 2 x 295 lbs
Calf Raises 8 x 315 lbs, 8 x 315 lbs, 8 x 315 lbs
SLDLs 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 185 lbs, 6 x 195 lbs, 6 x 205 lbs

Notes: Great workout day. Squats went up fairly easily, calf raises were a piece of cake, and SLDLs weren't bad at all. I think the position of my arms and head being in the same plane for squats hurts/stretches my injured bicep the wrong way. Any ideas how to stretch arms before squatting? I was thinking just do light cardio and stretch out.

Hey gcs - did your track coach have you on a lifting routine back in school or was it all running/calisthenics?

We just did running/calisthenics. Practice was 6 days a week, 2 hours each time during the season (Jan-May pretty much). I was only a mediocre runner until senior year when I started lifting in November '03. I went from being alright to 2nd best varsity sprinter (down in both my races 100 and 200 by .1 sec arg!). But anyway, I think the sprinting training really made a difference. That's why legs and abs have always been my strong points.
