Killer
Killer W/O as usual man, keep it up! I think you're right about the mental thing, don't push it before you're ready but by the #'s it looks like you can push it up a notch! Maybe try a flat bench hammer strength machine to take the mental aspect out... to boost confidence!

You know, I couldn't decide between bulking and cutting, and I figured (a month or 2 ago) shirts-off season is still pretty far away, and still a couple months yet. Going to the hot tub I still feel...bulky lol, but I really haven't gained too much fat considering I am up to 180!
About the busting plateaus, I am not 100% sure that bulking is the reason because of this, but it definitely has not been a setback to lifts. DLs I have never stopped increasing on, for squats taking a week off was the best thing ever for that plateau, and for bench, well, yeah bulking probably helped lol.

I don't know what it is with the mental deal lol. As soon as I go from the small 10s to a bigger 25, it just seems like so much more weight and it's only 10 lbs! Ugh I hate that feeling! Maybe next time I'll leave small plates on to make myself feel better lol.

LEGS/ABS, Saturday, February 5, 2005
Squats 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 4 x 270 lbs, 4 x 280 lbs, 2 x 290 lbs, 2 x 300 lbs
Seated Calf Raises 8 x 45 lbs, 8 x 70 lbs, 8 x 90 lbs, 8 x 105 lbs
SLDLs 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 195 lbs, 6 x 205 lbs, 6 x 215 lbs
Hanging Leg Raises BW x 8, BW+40 x 8, BW+40 x 6
Side Bends 6 x 80 lbs, 6 x 90 lbs, 6 x 100 lbs
Notes: Hit 300 on squat!!! Slaughtered those calf raises and SLDLs. No more DBs for side bends so I'll have to up the reps and try new things. I tried weighted sit ups and 50 lbs was so easy, but I felt stress on my lower back, maybe I wasn't keeping completely straight.

Wow. 300lbs. Incredible.
Good job! I'll be lucky if I even get that close to squats!

Life...thank you as well, and I know you've hit 205 squatting and you just started lifting! 300 isn't as far away as you think it is.

RANDOM, Monday, February 7, 2005
Dips 8 x BW, 8 x BW, 8 x BW+25, 8 x BW+25
Dumbbell Side Lateral 4 x 20 lbs, 6 x 20 lbs, 8 x 20 lbs
Static Holds (Seconds) 135 lbs (10), 135 lbs (10), 225 lbs (10), 315 lbs (10), 225 lbs (10), 135 lbs (20), 135 lbs (20)
Notes: Didn't plan to lift today, and since I cut out shoulders and arms just did a few sets. Did some grip work too. Tomorrow is DLs, so thank god for straps
EDIT: Static holds were double overhand. Are you even supposed to do them mixed grip?

BACK/ABS, Tuesday, February 8, 2005
Deadlifts 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 4 x 315 lbs, 4 x 325 lbs, 2 x 335 lbs, 2 x 345 lbs
Pull Ups BW x 6, BW x 5
One Armed Dumbbell Rows 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 55 lbs
Side Bends 6 x 100 lbs, 6 x 100 lbs
Hanging Leg Raises 8 x 35 lbs, 8 x 35 lbs
Notes: DLs went up fairly easily, maybe it was cuz of my extra motivation of the big guy waiting for the squat rack lol. I guess DLs killed my strength. Pull ups flat out sucked. Too tired to continue DB rows. Decent ab session.

I know that "too tired" feeling. It visits me often. Harder to conquer when training solo. Great mind training when you look it straight on and say "no, I'm not going to let you do this to me again", then manage to endure through to completion.

Absolutely you can do mixed grip , that IS how you deadlift isn't it? lol
Why bother going back down in weight when you do the static holds? I can't imagine standing there with 135 is going to affect you even if you hold it for 60 seconds. I'm about where you are with the grip strength (i wish i had chalk). I hold 335 for 4 sets of 10 seconds, alternating my hands each set up down and down up positions. Id' be able to hold 135 all day long dude.
I'd think you should be able to too. I think you should keep going up in the holds or do the same heavy ass weight for 10 seconds at a time rather than pyramid back down.
