RANDOM, Monday, February 14, 2005
Dumbbell Lateral Raises 8 x 15 lbs, 6 x 20 lbs, 6 x 25 lbs
Dips BW x 8, BW x 8, BW+25 x 8, BW+35 x 8
Static Holds (all 10 seconds) 225 (OH), 275 (OH), 315 (Mx2), 365 (Mx2)
Notes: Static holds OH = overhand, Mx2 = mixed, both ways.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I forgot to focus on counting slowly to 10 each time I did the static holds. I may have sped up without even thinking about it. lol so those are what I "think" I did. Probably less in reality though.

Yeah I saw this one guy with 315 in the squat rack, so I thought hey I'll watch his sets, it's pretty cool to see people lift heavy. Then I saw the pins were damn near at the top and he went down like 2 inches. Hell, he had the pins set higher than if I was doing calf raises!

At least you have seen someone squat. I've NEVER seen anyone use the power rack for squatting while i was at a gym lol. Never saw anyone do a deadlift, never saw anyone do a squat. The bench stations were always loaded up though, go figure

At my home gym (more of a family gym) I've seen one guy actually squatting and a couple doing deadlifts. At my college rec center here I've seen much more squatting and deadlifting...but still there are jackasses doing curls in power rack!

I can't wait for the day to be ready to squat with a curl jockey in there to be like "are you almost done curling in the SQUAT rack?"

Aaaahhhhh the benefits of lifting alone at home. As long as the bar doesn't end up on the neck doing declines or something.

I usually prefer the gym atmosphere over the home one. At the gym there's always a spot for me and usually cute girls around. But I do wish sometimes I had a home gym, to pound a stereo and get me really pumped/crazy. Maybe I need headphones

eh, I had to weight for some people using it as a bench press today. They had a mat set up on the ground in there and were benching off the pins at a low setting. I guess its not that bad but I wound up hopping into a shoulder workout while I was waiting for them to get out of the squat rack.
What I just found out is there's a "students only" weight room that I have access to, so if someone's hogging something I'll just head in there for a little bit from now on.
I'm a little paranoid about putting my face below 200 lbs since that time my bro blacked out and almost dropped the weight on himself before he stopped it. I'd have to go out and buy a power rack before I'd ever lift by myself...then I'd have to find somewhere to put the damn thing :

Psh, no such thing as too far down, unless you wind up with your ass on the ground and aren't able to get back up. For me when I go down there's usually less than the length of my hand between my ass and the ground, past that my body just wont go farther even if I try. I had to sacrifice over 100 lbs from my parallel lift to accomplish that though, slowly creeping back up there

this is so true... i have yet to see anyone do a squat or a deadlift... a lot of times i tell myself "well i'm here pretty late, it's not so busy"
but for the people that do show, nobody does legs... and i mean NOBODY... everybody loves to do upper body, i guess - the only time i've seen someone do legs is that leg spread thing that the girls use and the leg press (and i guess that's where the guys put on a bunch of 45lbers on each side) i have yet to try that.

Cort ... I agree, lol but the thing is that I only aim for slightly past parallel! I'm not even trying for ATF squats.
Life ... I saw this guy benching 225+ yesterday, and his calves had to be like 6 inches around. I almost laughed.
Some people....

Yeah I know, thats why its funny they said that you were too low, I guess unless they were letting you know you didn't have to go down so far to complete a parallel squat. Some people have a funny idea of what a squat is though...
