Training legs is TOUGH! I hate doing them too but I still do them and with intensity. My girlfriend sent me this picture of a male elementary teacher (he's about 25 yrs old). She said he was really scrawny back in high school, but now he's "built". The only thing it looks like he trained was his biceps and bench pressing. His biceps are bigger than his triceps, and his legs are tiny lol. I had a good laugh.

I think this was in Life's journal where I posted this, but yesterday there was this dude benching 225+ and doing flies with 65 lb DBs. Not bad. But his legs were TINY and his calves had to be about 6 inches around. They honestly looked sickly lol.

There is a guy at my gym with lat syndrome who has chicken legs too. I just don't get it, i'd feel stupid looking with that kind of disproportion. He says he has a disc in his back that herniated but was fixed only now he CAN'T work his legs. I call BS on that one. Even if it's all you can do, heavy leg extensions and leg curls will save your back and at least give them some size. [/jacked_thread]

BACK, Tuesday, February 15, 2005
Deadlifts 6 x 45 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 225 lbs, 4 x 320 lbs, 4 x 330 lbs, 2 x 340 lbs, 2 x 350 lbs
BORs 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs, 6 x 135 lbs
Chin Ups BW x 4, BW+10 x 4, BW+10 x 4
25 Sit Ups, 25 Leg Raises (from floor, friend threw legs down), 25 Push Ups
Notes: DLs went well. 340 felt easy, 350 felt HARD. BORs were easy until like rep 5. Chins made me feel good to strap on some weight. Forget pull ups lol Jason I don't see how you add 25 lbs man. 10 lbs made a world of difference! Just did the other stuff cuz I was tired of weighted abs, and the push ups were just to see what I could do. All a piece of cake

Nice variety today.
Don't know if you plan on banging out some push-ups periodically but here is something I've started to do - it's tough: I do push-ups between two benches, going extra low. My feet are also on another bench (so I'm tying up 3 benches). I take 10 seconds to slowly descend and 10 seconds to slowly return to the starting position. That is one rep. I can only bang out 3 reps which takes a minute. I call this type of push-up "Atlas II" as coined by John Peterson at Bronze Bow Publishing.
Have a great day!

Now that you getting to the mid/upper 300s in deadlifts, does it feel like the weight is really starting to get heavy?

pierini ... I might start adding push ups to the end of my chest day. I'd like to add weight on my back when I do them if possible. I just tossed them in today to see if I had gotten much weaker from taking a lot of time off, but I was happy to easily pump out 25.

The 340 lbs felt pretty light. I think the 350 only felt really heavy because one of my straps wasn't 100% snugged down. I'll know for sure next week when I attempt 2 x 355

You are almost to a 405 pull. Nothing like adding a pair of 45's dude.

I was gonna tape today, but I knew the gym would be packed. I'll tape my squats Saturday morning, hopefully my friend who works at the rec is there then. And I won't be taping a 405 DL for a couple months at least - no maxing for me, I want my progression to continue

Keep it going yo! . I have found taping my workouts periodically that it's helping alot with staying in form. I tape at least 1 working set on the big lifts and on other lifts that i question if I'm staying in proper form (like bent over rows).

Lol. Understatement of the month, Dave.
I'm seriously impressed by your ability to keep tacking weight on to your DL every week, Greg. You're on a helluva roll.
