Nah can't use chalk in my gym. I wish I could, but I'm stuck with bare, sweaty hands lol.

Do you wear gloves or use straps? They are great when used sparingly.

I only use straps for heavy DLs and heavy SLDLs (I like to go double overhand on both of those). Otherwise I don't use any straps.

LEGS, Thursday, May 5, 2005
Squats 8 x 135 lbs, 4 x 155 lbs, 2 x 185 lbs, 5 x 215 lbs (2 sec pause), 5 x 215 lbs (2 sec pause)
Calf Raises 15 x 225 lbs, 15 x 295 lbs, 15 x 295 lbs
SLDLs 6 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 6 x 255 lbs, 6 x 255 lbs

Notes: Barely made paused reps this week. I've been on a paused rep squat cycle too long I think, gains are wearing down. Any suggestions? Firehawk what do you think? 6x3? Haven't done BB calf raises in awhile, I don't really like them too much. SLDLs felt strong.

Fargin' killer Stiff Legs man! You should feel happy with them there! Do you rest pause on everything right now, or just pause? Good stuff all around!

What exactly is a rest pause? Resting before the next rep? For squats or bench if it says 2 second pause, I go down, hold for 2 seconds, then go up. I'm getting a new squat and bench routine though...I've reaped the benefits of pausing for this time around. Thanks about the SLDLs too.

That sucks, it really isn't very messy. Just gets on your hands, the bar, and the towel you whipe up with.

HEre's an example of rest pause (It's doggcrap principles)...

Pick a weight you can do 8 reps for, and try to do 15-20.

When you get to 8 and cant get 9, rack the weight for about 10 seconds, then get another 1 or 2 reps, rest another 10-15 seconds, get another 1-2 reps, etc until you complete your set. Supposedly this works wonders, but you probably should have a spotter, especially on bench pressing lol.

Worst case it would be a good change of pace...

It's pretty taxing too. Pausing reps is hard enough. I give anyone credit for being able to pause all their reps, very tough. Again, nice work Greg.

Thanks again Bob, just a different cycle that time around. Pausing takes a lot out of me but I definitely think it helps add explosiveness/power from the bottom.

That rest pause set thing sounds like hell Dave lol. It sounds just as bad as 20 rep squats!

I almost chose that for my leg cycle, then thought better of it. I'd rather grunt through 3-5 insanely hard reps than be nicked and bled for the pain of 20.

CHEST, Saturday, May 7, 2005
Bench Press 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 115 lbs, 3 x 125 lbs, 1 x 135 lbs, 6 sets of 3 @ 155 lbs
Dips BW+25 x 3, BW+45 x 6, BW+50 x 4
Front Raises 6 x 30 lbs, 8 x 25 lbs
Side Laterals 12 x 20 lbs, 12 x 20 lbs

Notes: First day using the 6x3 program. Used closer grip on bench (pinky on rings instead of index finger). It was a little more difficult, but nailed every rep easy. Dips were pretty hard today, I think the closer grip benching took a lot out of my triceps. Hadn't done direct front delt work in forever...these front raises are pathetic I think. I need to get that strength up. Side laterals were surprisingly easy today

BACK, Monday, May 9, 2005
Deadlift 8 x 135 lbs, 5 x 225 lbs, 3 x 275 lbs, 1 x 315 lbs, 1 x 365 lbs, 1 x 405 lbs, 1 x 415 lbs
BORs 4 x 135 lbs, 8 x 155 lbs, 8 x 155 lbs
DB Hammer Curls 10 x 40 lbs, 10 x 40 lbs

Notes: Max DL today. I got a video at 405 but it was erased, and I have one of 415. I definitely used way too much back, but I think it's only because I wanted to hit that rep and struggled. I'm going to keep a very close eye on my DL form and hopefully get some more videos.
