LEGS, Thursday, May 19, 2005
Squats 5 x 45 lbs, 5 x 115 lbs, 3 x 135 lbs, 2 x 185 lbs, 1 x 215 lbs, 3x3 @ 235 lbs
SLDLs 6 x 135 lbs, 4 x 225 lbs, 6 x 265 lbs, 6 x 265 lbs
Seated Calf Raises 4 sets
Leg Press 10 x 360 lbs
Notes: No plates at ALL on the squat rack, so instead of fetching every size plate I made do with what was around for warm ups. 235s went up fairly easy, I'm ready for 245 baby! I put SLDLs second instead of third and they felt great today! I'm not going to keep track of calf weights any longer because I mix it up all the time from machine to free weight to other machine blah blah blah. Leg press to finish my legs off.

CHEST, Friday, May 20, 2005
Bench Press Medium Grip 8 x 45 lbs, 5 x 95 lbs, 5 x 115 lbs, 3 x 135 lbs, 1 x 155 lbs, 6x3 @ 175 lbs
Dips BWx3, BW+25 x 3, BW+45 x 7, BW+35 x 6
Front Raises 10 x 25 lbs, 10 x 25 lbs
Side Laterals 10 x 25 lbs, 10 x 25 lbs
Notes: Bench press is getting difficult but I think I'm good for the 185s next week. Fried my triceps on bench, nothing left for dips by second work set. Improvements all around on my front and side raises.

BACK, Monday, May 23, 2005
Deadlifts 5 x 45 lbs, 1 x 135 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 315 lbs, 1 x 395 lbs, 1 x 430 lbs
BORs 5 x 115 lbs, 3 x 135 lbs, 8 x 160 lbs, 8 x 160 lbs
T-Bar (Wider Grip w/2 sec. hold at top) 8 x 100 lbs, 8 x 100 lbs
DB Curls 7 x 45 lbs, 7 x 40 lbs
Notes: PR on deadlifts. I swear the rep at 430 was my slowest rep ever. I'm pretty sure form was good, but my god, it went up so slow. That has to be or be VERY near my absolute max. I'm thinking next week for singles just stay at 405 and do multiple pulls. Thoughts on this idea?

Nicely done. I'd follow you own advice and do reps, maybe 3x3, next week.

I decided to keep a FitDay log today to see how many calories I'm eating. Well apparently with my bulk and eating non-stop, I'm still getting less than 3,000 calories! I don't know if I can physically eat anymore lol. I had 2 chicken quesadillas from Taco Bell today AND Applebees appetizers (these are included in the under 3,000 calories of today). Not good foods, but hell I need more calories!

And still deadlifting me AND my deadlift weight. Welcome to the can't hold another bite club. I'm trying some weight gainer myself instead of just protein supps. Probably too many carbs - but if I get too fat, I'll quickly switch back.
Obviously with your strength, you are eating enough.

You guys gotta start eating the calorie dense stuff like peanut butter, adding some olive oil to wheat pasta, adding some flax to a shake, stuff like that. When I started bulking in January, it took me 3 or 4 weeks before I could really gain any weight cause I didn't know how to get the calories in. I was just exploding on rice and beans. Good fat will get you there.

There you go maverick, it's about time i see someone other than myself tell people to go after the calorie dense food. get a tablespoon and GLOB the peanut butter on some bread. Youll easily eat 3 servings of peanut butter donig that, which adds up to 570-600 calories right there, not including the bread.
I dont' know why you guys have trouble eating that many calories anyway, I'm loving it! I'm eating 4000 calories a day, and loving every second of it! lol

I think its hard sometimes to think of 570-600 calories of predominately fat, although good fat, as a good thing. Especially if you think, "Damn, I coulda had a cheeseburger instead of a spoonful of peanut butter for those calories!" Obviously not the same (macro)nutrients, but as we all well know, willpower is frequently tested.

ABS/GRIP, Wednesday, May 25, 2005
Decline Sit Ups BW x 6, BW+50 x 6, BW+75 x 8, BW+85 x 8
DB Side Bends 6 x 75 lbs, 10 x 90 lbs, 8 x 110 lbs
Hanging Leg Raises 8 x 45 lbs, 8 x 45 lbs
Static Hold (Double Overhand) 20 sec x 295 lbs
Static Hold (Mixed Grip) 15 sec x 385 lbs, 15 sec x 385 lbs
Reverse Barbell Curls 2 sets
Notes: Great abs day, but I NEED chalk! I could've gone heavier on DB side bends, but grip started slipping. Sweaty hands suck for grip work. Ugh! I'll have to find something...

I found that using the cables for DB side bends was more effective for me. I really feel like I'm hitting my obliques when I do them, rather than trying to keep my balance. Grip seems to be less of an issue too.
My forearms are sore so those static holds are making me cringe. Nice job.
