probailly too light, I'm doing 115lbs with my middle finger on a 1"dia bar, I started at like 40-50lbs
you could also finger pinch the dumbells or plates....like, thumb/index, thumb/middle, thumb/pinky ect.

Next time I'll use more weight for sure. I'm not really a big fan of plate pinching (yet anyway). When it's time for a change of pace I'll consider the finger pinches.

I know he is, that's why I keep asking HIM the grip questions. I've tried to do plate pinching before but I'm just not into that specific grip thing. I know there are many other options out there besides plate pinching, just trying to find them So no more hatin' fool.

Get a sledge hammer. Plenty of forearm stuff to do with that.

thats cool bro, just like I'm not big on training with grippers, there a great grip exersice, but I'm not into them, theres tons of grip optons anyway.
I'm really going to start hitting these grippers soon though, if I'm going to enter the 2 grip comps later this year (at least 1) I need gripper work.

check the gripboard for most of them.
the GGC (Global Grip Challenge) is hosted by the deiselcrew and will be in sept. up around Sayre PA, this is a big contest, they want me to enter so I might.
down here in Maryland the promoter for my strongman events is going to do a grip contest and will have a conventional deadlift for max weight event also, I'm definatley hitting this one, I think fall or early winter.

Get a big 16 - 20 pound sledgehammer, and old tire, then proceed to beat the hell out of the tire. Good for the shoulders, back, forearms, bis, tris, even the legs. I know some kickboxers who do that all the time. Good conditioning workout.

Dark's talking about leverage work, hold on to the very end of the hammer and proceed to let the weighted end fall forward and try to control it, then bring it back to an upright position, it's all in the wrists.
or let the weighted end touch your nose or forehead and bring it back to an upright position.
The arm must be LOCKED-OUT straight.

yep, that way is some motavaion to surley do it in a slow controlled manner.
beleive it or not there is a world record in this held by Slim the hammerman Farman, and at 71years old is still the best leverager in the world, I don't know the exact weight. My training partner met him last year and saw him perform over the weekend at the oldtime strongman barbell dinner, I'm sorry I missed out, I've seen pics and he looks like he's only 50. They said the bigger guys shook his hands and he challenged them to squezze as hard as they could, they counldn't do anything, he's done leverage stuff with a sledge in each hand both inches away from his nose.

LEGS, Thursday, June 16, 2005
Squats 5 x 45 lbs, 5 x 95 lbs, 3 x 135 lbs, 2 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 255 lbs, 3x3 @ 275 lbs
SLDLs 3 x 135 lbs, 3 x 225 lbs, 6 x 285 lbs, 6 x 285 lbs
Seated Calf Raises 3 sets of 8
Notes: Squats were heavy today, probably should have only gone to 270, but I'm stubborn. Reps weren't perfect but they were clean I'd say. I definitely leaned forward some on the second set, got pissed, so for my third set I concentrated on NOT leaning forward. When I started to, I leaned back and the weight seemed to go up easier. SLDLs are heavy as hell now. From here on out it's going to be a real challenge to get all my reps. I should probably do a better warm up for them.

Now that you've taken your recently hijacked journal back - sorry 'bout that. Great leg work. Hey 275 and you got 'em. And 285 on the SL's - way cool. I'll be happy when my quads catch up to my hamstrings - or at least get close like you are. :
