isn't that the wierdest thing? at my gym, there are three benches, all identical, with three bars, all identical.

apparently identical, i should say, because i HAVE to use the bench on the right and i HAVE to use one particular bar. if the benches get shuffled, i can tell immediately and they have to be put back in order so i can use "my" bench and "my" bar.

wonder why that is? OCD aside, i can instantly tell as soon as i grab it that it's not the right bar - it just doesn't feel right.

haha I did have a different bar today too. When the 95 lb warm up felt heavy I thought it was going to be a very bad day lol. Glad it was proven otherwise

Two weeks more of lifting, then a week off starting the 15th.

hehe i hate those days. i'm planning a week off in 2 weeks as well, can't wait, might even take the whole month of august off but i'm not sure yet

You don't need a whole month off, just take a week and I bet you'll be ready to come back after that. A week off seems like a long time if you're used to lifting many times a week.

BACK/ABS, Tuesday, July 5, 2005
Deadlifts Off 35s 10 x 45 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 225 lbs, 1 x 275 lbs, 1 x 315 lbs, 5 x 370 lbs, 5 x 370 lbs
BORs 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 155 lbs, 6 x 175 lbs, 12 x 155 lbs
T-Bar Rows (wider grip, 2 sec. hold) 6 x 120 lbs, 6 x 120 lbs
Decline Sit Ups BW+75 x 5, BW+95 x 8

Notes: Wow were deadlifts hard today. I wasn't sure I would be able to do one rep when I first picked up the 370. These were TOUGH. BORs have been pissing me off. 155 is so light, but 175 is so heavy! Ugh. Gotta figure something out, maybe 165 for awhile. Did some ab work, and I'm gonna do grip work later today with my CoC gripper, just play around with it.

Your decline sit-ups got me thinking that maybe I'm describing my middle-incline military sit-ups incorrectly.

Is a decline sit-up one in which your legs are higher than your head? If so, then I guess that I am really doing middle-decline military sit-ups. Got to get the terminology correct.

its so wierd how wacky my strength is...you can deadlift 370 probably over 400 for 1 and i am doing a measly 245 for 6 reps, however i can bench 280, lol....just everyone who read this, use me as an example of why you should train every lift evenly when you first start!! Dont do as I did, no legs, no deadlifts for 5 years---bad bad bad

but as for you, great job on the deads!!

Ah incline, decline, just depends how you look at it. Is the glass half full or half empty? Same difference lol

Thanks And actually...deadlifting off plates is more difficult. So the 5x370 off plates is more like 5x390 off the ground

You're a nautral gcs. My hands are pretty short so deadlifts even though they are my favorite lift have been pretty hard for me.

I think if you went sumo if you're the right height(dont know if you are) you could probably hit 500 real soon.

I've never tried deadlifting sumo before so I'm not sure how that would go. I'm right about 5' 8" or 9". I do love my conventionals though.

when i do deadlift, i do it sumo...i can't get comfortable doing it conventional and it just feels more "right" for me to do it sumo---the sumos also nail the insides of your legs as well, so it's an added bonus I guess, whereas the conventionals are more similar to squats I think?

i am 5'10" btw

LEGS, Thursday, July 7, 2005
Squats 5 x 45 lbs, 5 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 265 lbs, 3 singles @ 295 lbs, 3 singles @ 300 lbs
SLDLs 3 x 135 lbs, 3 x 185 lbs, 1 x 225 lbs, 1 x 265 lbs, 6 x 300 lbs, 6 x 300 lbs

Notes: No seated calf raises today because some bozo was stretching on it and I was already pretty tired. The 295 singles went up easy, so I went to 300 which were tougher than I expected. I was thinking about Dave telling me on the bench singles if it's easy, bump the weight up, so I carried it over to squats. Stiff legs were murder. 300 felt like the weight of the world. Barely managed to finish my sets.
